Incredible find while simply driving to covered bridges in the area. Tranquil. Serene. Inspired me to write (I'm a writer) a modern-day hex murder based on the hex murder here. Found Moments: Stone Arch Bridge Park We came across this place called Stone Arch Bridge Park. As you know by now, it's an absolutely gorgeous day here. This bridge was built in 1888, I believe by Swiss immigrants. It's just really pretty here. Slowly pans the camera. What I love about little road trips is that - even though we have a few destinations in mind - you just stumble upon things and go, "Wow, this is really, really cool." So, we're going to have lunch here. Alright everyone, take care. Get out there - adventure awaits. Just get out. Get away from your computer or TV. Grab the one you love, your best friend - whoever - and have an adventure. It's beautiful here. If you're into trout fishing, this would be a great spot. We're at Stone Arch Bridge, near Callicoon, New York, in the Catskills. We're kind of close to the Delaware River, heading toward Livingston - or maybe it's Livingstone. There are a couple of bridges there too. It's just… beautiful. Absolutely, absolutely wonderful. There's a playground here, and it made us think about our daughters - how much they would've loved this when they were little. Oh - there's my wife. Anyway, take care everyone. Seek adventure. Adventure can be right outside your door. You don't have to drive to the mountains or to New York. There's so much life out there. So much to experience, to learn, and to savor - with all your senses. A lot better than watching stuff on a phone. (Even though - you're watching this on a phone. The irony - I get it. Right? Right?) Cheers, people.

It's a beautiful bridge with a unique history. The park is cute and it's very nice having the creek running so closely.

Nice place to have a picnic and spend an afternoon. There's no swimming signs next to the water but there is a small playground for the kids to enjoy. There are picnic tables and grills set up in the area and a trail that follows the river.

I love historical locations. This is a very pleasant and peaceful place. Very picturesque. Amazing it has stood the test if time back to 1880. Sounds of the small rapids is relaxing. A nice picnic area with tables and bbqs. Also a children's park in the site. Steep area but even with my bad knees I was able to walk down the hill.

Pleasant place to view the bridge and stream or to enjoy a picnic. There is a short trail here along Callicoon Creek, but it ends at the property line.

Google
Small but enchanting park built around a hand-crafted three-arch stone bridge over Callicoon Creek. Now a grass-lined walkway, the former highway bridge is a lovely sight underlined by the sound of a tiny one-foot waterfall only a hundred feet or so away. The park extends a fair distance northward from the bridge itself and has a hiking trail running its length, but it was muddy with puddles when we visited so we didn't get far before turning around.

Very nice historical park. The bridge is cool as heck. New playground equipment and trails. If the RESTROOMS get updated from the 60's pit toilets, it would be perfect.

Yelp
It is a gorgeous park with a very nice playground for kiddos. The hike is not too bad, and easily done with a baby. The bridge itself is gorgeous, and with an incredibly intriguing history. We visited and all types of weather and just find it to be a very nice place.

Yelp
Hung out here for almost an hour and a half. The bridge is impressive and the park is well maintained with a bathroom, grill, playground, and a hiking trail. The parking lot is a bit small but as long as you down during off season you shouldn't have an issue.

Yelp
I love bridges. Big ones. Little ones. Long ones. Short ones. Old ones. Covered ones. Every chance I get I will cross a bridge, and walk it if allowed. I also love duck, which gets me to Jeffersonville NY on occasion. Just near where I pick up duck occasionally, is this bridge. Stone Arch Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge. Built circa 1873, it was listed in the National Registry of Historic Places in 1976. Its gorgeous. Crossing over Callicoon Creek in three arches. Its a trip back in history to cross this bridge. Next time I'm there Ill take pics.
