OKANAGAN VALLEY CITY GUIDE

"Stoneboat wines derive their vivid character from the rocky, calcium rich benches where our grapes have grown for over 40 years. Our vines thrive atop hundreds of feet of stones, producing fruit of exceptional concentration and character. Here we strive to farm thoughtfully and respectfully, creating wines that are distinct, honest, and above all, true to their origins in our vineyards. Our focus is on producing small lots of premium Pinot wines."

Had an absolute blast at this winery, the staff were so friendly and welcoming!. Every wine we sampled in the tasting was delicious, we left with so many bottles! We had 4 little kids with us who got really comfy in their sitting area, and the staff gave them all a freezie at the end of the tasting! Fun for adults and kids! They also have a super cute sitting area out side with some picnic tables. We will most definitely return to this winery!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Stoneboat vineyards and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The beautiful patio provided the perfect setting for an afternoon of relaxation and enjoyment. The ambiance was serene, with stunning views that enhanced the overall experience. A special thank you to Abby, whose warm hospitality and knowledgeable recommendations truly made our visit memorable. Her passion for the wines and dedication to ensuring we had a great time was evident throughout our visit. I highly recommend Stoneboat vineyards to anyone looking for a delightful winery experience. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just looking to unwind, this place has something for everyone. Don't miss out on this gem!

Stoneboat is an absolute gem! I have been visiting for years and have always had a lovely time. Their wines are excellent and the experience is amazing. We are always made to feel welcome as soon as we walk in. The staff are knowledgeable and their genuine love of wine and how it brings people together shines through. Their tasting area is my favourite in the Okanagan - not fancy or pretentious - it's like a garden in Tuscany. This year we brought friends who know their wine but had never visited the winery. Marie led us through a tasting, bringing us one lovely wine after another, answering all of our questions and giving us time to relax and enjoy - easily the highlight of this year's wine tour. Highly recommended for great wine (which is also good value) and a singular experience.

My husband and I became wine club members a few years ago and I would like to say that Stoneboat wines just keep getting better and better!! We love all of them and every order, we always order more because we love it so much. I would also like to mention that the people working at Stoneboat are outstanding professionals that are warm and inviting. Every time I contact them, they are quick to respond and always go above and beyond. I would like to shout out to Patricia!!! We were in a pickle and she stepped in and helped us with our order, thank you Patricia!!!!!

Stoneboat is making some of the best wines in the Okanagan. They produce a wide variety of wines from sparkling to white to amazing reds. Also, their 2024 rose is great. Thanks to Andrew and Patricia for spending time with us while we were there! Highly recommend tasting here.

We stopped by Stoneboat for a tasting and it was fantastic. We had an awesome conversation about wine and tasted some deliciousness! The price point for quality is amazing. I think the Pinot Gris is fantastic, rosé is delicious. I had the bubbly at The Dream Cafe last weekend! If you’re looking for a chill wine tasting this is a place to try. Thanks again, see you soon :) 🥂

Yelp
It is never fair to review a winery on a miserable day. Of course it was miserable when we went so we didnt get anytime outside on the grounds that look rather nice. Inside was a small shop with a lot of things to look at. We did buy some excellent chocolate! I wanted a book but it was a bit out of my budget. Wife did sample a rose that she said was pretty decent. The service is fast and friendly, it is worth stopping in

Yelp
Beautiful winery located on a road full of them. This one was interesting to visit because it is a Pinot house and different then most wineries. We did our tasting on their patio with heat lamps and beautiful scenery. Our wine connoisseur was so knowledgeable about the wine and grapes and even the history of the small winery. This place is very unique and she had so many amazing facts. This place seemed to me to be a ma and pap kind of place. The son was there that day helping out and it just felt like family. We ended up with a few bottles. If you are a Pinot fan and want to try a unique taste, you should try this beautiful winery out!

Yelp
Stoneboat Vineyards is one of the best kept secrets in the Okanagan Valley. This small, family run vineyard and winery offers the best Pinots in the valley and the guest experience is unmatched! Located right in the heart of the South Okanagan wine country, nestled off the Black Sage, Stoneboat has a small tasting room that is usually manned by one family member or another. This affords a great opportunity to meet the people behind the wine, and learn a fair bit in the process! Their wines are carried in many Vancouver restaurants and wine shops, but to truly understand and appreciate the wine it's well worth making the trek to the Okanagan. You'll have the opportunity to try and fall in love with a much greater selection of their wines and really get a feel for the land and the landscape that influenced and inspired their foray into winemaking. All in all, I can't wait to get back ... or open that next bottle of Pinotage! Rumor has it they are launching online sales this Spring, I will definitely be the first customer!

Yelp
We stopped into Stoneboat Vineyards during a stay in Osoyoos. It was a smaller property, with a friendly 'host' to greet us, and provide information about their wines, along with some nice tastes. Left with two of their 'original' creations -- a white ('Chorus') and a red ('Duet'). A nice tasting experience -- and a couple of wines which were enjoyed back home.

Yelp
This was a fabulous experience we just decided to a spontaneous wine drive around and decided to go here to start off. It was near closing but I managed to do a quick tasting for $5 and the staff were fantastic! The wines also superb! Definitely have to put this one on your list when you go up there!

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Didn't even have a chance to taste the wines. Don't bother stopping by. So many other wineries in the area that treat you with respect and are appreciative of your business

Yelp
Had been looking forward to checking out Stoneboat for a while now. We arrived at 215pm. There were about 5 people tasting at the bar in front of our group of 10. A women who worked there approached our (multicultural) group and said "Theres no way we could accommodate your group, it's way too busy" We offered to wait. She repeated that it was too busy for us to do a tasting or the group behind us who also happened to be mixed race. Don't want to throw any accusations out there but just struck me as odd that the Caucasian group ahead of us had no problems but our two groups were turned away. Despite hearing good things about their wines, will not be returning here.

Yelp
I will agree with previous poster on 5 stars. We LOVE their wines. On a recent OK wine tour, we ended up buying a case of the Chorus - despite knowing we had many more stops to make. A lovely little farmhouse winery with a surprisingly wide selection.

Yelp
While I may have a mixed feeling on their wines (more hit and miss), their ice wines can be incredible. Smaller tasting room, but very nice area, staff, and grounds. Their price points can be a bit high, but depending upon the wine, and the fact that you can't get them in the states, it can be worth it! Verglas is one of our fave's.

Yelp
Reading other reviews it seems this winery has a pattern of bad experience, particularly towards parties who show up for a tasting with kids. That was certainly our experience. We pre-booked a tasting for six people, which was the max allowed (Covid requirement). When we showed up with our kids we told them to wait outside for us while we went in for a tasting. Our kids have (reluctantly) been to more wine tastings than most adults and they know how to behave and be patient. They found a spot outside in the shade and pulled out some cards at a table to play games while we went in. But then a woman came out in full rage, armed with a sanitizer kit and hazmat suit (Covid gestapo) and screamed at the children for sitting in a sanitized "bubble area" even though there was no such sign indicating this. When I told her they just wanted to wait there outside while the six parents went into the winery to taste and buy their wines she abruptly and rudely said she didn't care. The wineries rules were a max of six people ON THE PROPERTY. We have been to countless tasting in the okanagan over the past 20 years and had already been to six other wineries during Covid and nobody has every kicked our children off their property. Furthermore, these details were not disclosed to us when we booked. What was the worst (almost criminal!) was when I asked the woman where our children should wait for us while we go inside to taste their wines, she said "we suggest adults leave their children in the car!". This is the Okanagan. In August. The temperature was 35 degrees! And they told us to put our kids in the car! Police arrest people for doing this to their dogs, let alone their children. Needless to say we left without tasting or buying their wines. And we will never buy Stoneboat again (despite being a loyal fan for over a decade). I understand that conditions are unique these days with Covid but there are absolutely no rules anywhere that limit customers to six people on any business' entire property. If Stoneboat is so afraid that they choose to implement such extreme measures maybe they should just stay closed. Or if they choose to open with their own unwelcoming limitations then they need to be prepared to suffer from frustrated customers, bad reviews, and lost revenue. But like I said at the start of this review, the bad service seems to be systemic in this business as many other negative (pre covid) reviews have stated.

Yelp
Stoneboat is a small and friendly winery, a wee bit off the highway but well worth the few minutes it takes to drop by. It's usually busy, but never too crowded. They staff are pleasant and happy to offer tastings of nearly all of their wines. Their specialties are fragrant white wines that are perfect patio sippers, along with pinot noir and uniquely spicy pinotage. The wines are delicious yet affordable, so it's tempting to pick up a case.

Yelp
Great stop on a wine tour I was on for a bachelorette party. Cute tasting room with some other interesting tid bits to purchase (a few girls grabbed bbq sauce? Must be known for it or something...). Anyways, great whites and the Rose was unique too. Wasn't a fan of the dessert wine (a bit too sweet for my taste) but definitely worth the visit. Grabbed a couple bottles of the Chorus.. lovely white.

Yelp
Great tasting experience and excellent wines. We loved the pinot gris and the pinotage. We would have purchased the reserve pinotage but it was out of our price range given that it was only day one of a two day wine tasting tour.
