Stoneleigh Barn

A warm welcome greeted us on our arrival, with tea brought to us in the beautiful garden.||Our 'Red' room was inviting and slightly quirky. We both had a great night sleep in the very comfortable bed. Linen and pillows felt of high quality. Would have liked shampoo available in the bathroom in addition to the body wash and hair conditioner, but this wasn't too much of a big deal.||The breakfast was the real star of the show... genernous in size and cooked to absolute perfection. The gentle nuzzling of their beautiful little dog encouraged me to pass my last piece of sausage under the table..... oops.||Overall, a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this establishment to others. ||Thank you for your hospitality.

Stayed on the Red Room it was NOT a good experience. Filthy tray on which complimentary tea and coffee items were placed. Kettle dirty. Milk left in a flask separated when put in my tea Dust on floor around bed. Did not sleep in the bed as bedding appeared and smelt used and not washed. Tables on which breakfast was served grubby and covered in stains. Had I not have driven 200 miles on business and knew the area better I would have found a Travelodge. Wifi poor Owners customer care skills poor. Owners dog allowed to beg at your table whilst your eating poor.

Spent one night in September as visiting a local auction.|Very comfortable room . Excellent breakfast. Very friendly host provided tea on arrival and a thermos of fresh milk for our room. Beautiful old house in a country setting and very peaceful.

Beautiful hidden gem, perfect room and location. The host was amazing, me and my wife fell in love with Nutmeg! Thank you so so much for a cracking weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Lovely B+B. Perfect host, very friendly, attentive and informative. Nutmeg the dog was an absolute angel and friendly, especially when she wanted a belly rub. Room was lovely, airy and clean. Great bathroom with a wet room shower and roll top bath. Good parking. Great selection for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble!

Just back from the most wonderful weekend with friends in the Sherborne area where we used Stoneleigh Barn as our base with easy access to the town without the noise of being in it. We were met and made to feel most welcome by Rupert and the legend that is, according to Trip Advisor, Nutmeg. The Red Room was spacious, warm and, most importantly, the bed was really comfortable. Whilst there was noise from the road during the day, this is expected from a rural farming area, it was super quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, tasty coffee, and a hearty cooked offering of choice. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights, one before my wedding with my bridesmaids and the 2nd night with my husband. |We had the most fantastic time, the hosts were amazing and so accommodating, nothing was too much. The rooms are beautiful! The breakfast was also fantastic. We also could not forget Nutmeg the dog! We would definitely recommend this place.

A welcoming and characterful B&B close to Sherborne. Rupert is a brilliant host, so helpful and friendly, found us a restaurant for dinner and booked it for us, even gave us some ice for my partner's sprained ankle. The little dog Nutmeg is also an adorable host, escorting and entertaining visitors. Good variety of food for breakfast with a great view of the garden. Comfortable and warm room with a spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated bathroom. Would definitely recommend for a stay in the local area.
