12 Most Scenic Overlooks in U.S. National Parks

"Perched above alpine tundra with humbling panoramas and strong chances to spot wildlife, Stony Hill Overlook frames an unforgettable view of snow-capped Mount Denali, and because private cars can't drive the full park road I used summer transit or tour buses that include photo stops here." - Skye Sherman Skye Sherman Skye Sherman is a travel writer based in West Palm Beach, Florida. We came to Alaska for our honeymoon and it didn't disappoint us. We were bless to see Mt Denali about 12 times and from all sides. The tour going through the park is a must do! We saw so much wildlife, we even got to close for comfort for our guide, that he rushed us back on the bus while we were at this stop. He was extremely great at what he did. Extremely knowledgeable and watched out for our safety. This one picture says it all about our trip into the park. When we spotted this bear and cub it was about 1000 yds away and the tour guide quickly advised us to get on the bus. It was about 5 min from when we saw them coming to them being in the exact spot we were standing taking pictures. They move quick!

Got a peek of Denali. Look close at the bright spot in the sky. That's snow on the face. Great place to observe, but you need to be on a park tour to get this deep into the park.

This is the last stop on the Wilderness Tundra Tour before it returns. It places you 25 miles from Denali. The views are incredible when the sun is shining.

Perfect day for the mountain view. We were lucky to see 6 grizzles, 1 moose, 2 coyote cubs, Golden Eagle... no sheep.

The waitress never acknowledged me. She spoke only to my husband,as if I wasn't there. Took a long time for our food to come. When my husband saw it ready to be taken to us, she said no. Went to the back and said it was burnt. After a long time brought my order, chicken strips which should come with aioli and a wedge of lemon. Nothing came but just the chicken strips, so I asked at least for ketchup to be brought. Then the next table ordered the same, came with aioli and wedge of lemon🙁. Maybe she didn't like mixed couples?

Great views with numerous wildlife sightings on the way. Mount Denali might be visible if you are lucky.
