Stoos Lodge is nice and is very modern but:
- Extremely disorganized service: from booking the rooms to bringing the right drink for dinner. When I booked the rooms months earlier, I had to call to remind them to get a confirmation of our booking only then to receive two separate confirmation emails to which I had to call again to double check. I originally asked for an M room (bigger) but got S booked but I didn’t want to call yet again to change it.
- Not a single order in the hotel (lunch and 2 dinners) was correct. Always something forgotten. The wait staff is very nice but there is something wrong with their process and system.
- Breakfast was included in our booking (we didn’t know) but their online check-in system and card pick up at the hotel asked us if we want to include breakfast and we didn’t want breakfast so we paid 80 Chf extra for breakfast we didn’t have.
- the beds are not comfortable and the sheets resemble sand paper.
- the pillows are air and you have to order a hard/normal pillow at the reception. Thankfully, we received 2 but our friends weren’t so lucky as they had run out of pillows.
- cleaning is not included in the hotel cost, it’s extra.
- the design of the bathroom is *the same door closes the toilet and the shower* but you cannot use both simultaneously.
- Simple split payments after dinner were mixed up, reservation forgotten, wrong menu printed, etc.
- upon checking out: we had added certain tabs to our room charge but none were visible in the system. We walked to the reception to check out again to pay for the outstanding tabs that their system didn’t pick up.
This experience made it feel like a hostel in a very modern building with a very subpar service. And that for almost 300 a night. Never again.
