Stop & Sleep

Excellent accomadation, mostly quiet despite being close to station, free breakfast and great coffee included, has fully equipped communal kitchen, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and is well looked after and clean. Very welcoming and professional staff.

Found this b&b just for one night stay for a business trip and were surprised how nice and cosy is it. The first impression we had is that all the area is totally clean and homely. The room was quite spacious, with a nice bed and clean bedclothes. We have nestled in this room with a pleasure as it was also very warm and such atmosphere disposed us to have a relax after hard working day. The typical breakfast was offered to us in a good equipped kitchen, where u can find all the necessary kitchen utensils. U should be aware that the bathroom is common for 2 rooms, we have discovered this issue only after our arrival there, so it could be our omission. But despite of this, the bathroom is very clean and equipped with clean towels and soap.

Nice place to stay in when visiting Udine, just opposite to the train station, which has its bonuses and downsides e.g. it didn't feel particularly friendly outside during the night time, many men just loitering around, so for a single women didn't feel very comfortable. However, short distance to the main square and all the amenities, plenty of cafes and restaurants around. Rooms were very big and lovely decorated with air condition. Bathrooms also have good sizes and very clean. The entire place had a positive vibe inside. There is no reception desk, so the guest need to communicate with the owner but there was another lady for every check in she was very nice and helpful.

We were heading to Austria and wanted to get off the road for a rest from the day’s drive, avoiding the traffic and fires that was in the area south of Udine. On the way into the city we wanted to experience Udine which we knew so little about. We spotted the name on Google Map and thought this is exactly what we want, a Stop & Sleep. Was a bit tricky driving around the one way streets, but with a few go arounds we were able to find a parking place while we contacted the hotel desk. I was impressed by the friendly help directing us to the hotel entrance and where we could park the car full of our luggage. Parking was right across the street in a guarded area next to a police station, perfect! Entering the building I thought at first this was the wrong place looking like a normao apartment house. After climbing the stairs, out of breath, waiting for the dog to tke each level at his pace we old timers made it to the top floor. Yes, this was an apartment building but to our surprise the apartment had very nice rooms with modern effiecient spacy bathrooms and all the extras that one needs to rest. Allowing the dog to stay was a big plus point. The owner and support staff made it a point that we were well taken care of, showed us on the map where all the points of interest were and the local restaurants all in walking distance. We stayed in the room for a spell to rest and boost ourselves up for the climb down the stairs heading out for dinner. Queit deep sleep night not hearing the traffic, nor the trains from the station located across the street. In the morning a wonderful well supplied self service breakfast in the common kitchen. We had such a good time with the feeling the staff were looking out after us making sure our stay was a pleasant one. As we said our goodbyes I mentioned we would love to come back and stay at Stop & Sleep but I would not be able to conquer the staircase again. I was informed by the owner with a smile that the elevator is being built and will be completed soon. I had a inner chuckle thinking that’s Italian salesmanship. But sure enough at the bottokm of the stairs around the corner inside the entrance was the steel structure of the elevator. I thought to myself, get finished my friend and I will see you again very soon. I absolutely recommend this friendly comfortable top floor establishment. With the secure happy feeling to go out and explore the local gems making our stay more enjoyable. Many thanks for an unexpected fun experience …. I will definitely recommend you to anyone we know heading towards Udine.

Lovely rooms incl. breakfast, if you need a stop over in Udine close to the train station. City centre is also close (10min by foot). Tran Station area as usual a bit strange

Great place only 20 meter from the train station. The host was very nice and met us outside at arrival. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms new and fresh. We also enjoyed an included breakfast Highly recommendable!

The place is super cute and has literally everything you may need. There’s a kitchen with a lot of food and a nice bathroom. The receptionist was super kind and showed me where things are and how to use some functions of the place. Definitely the best price/quality stay i’ve ever seen!

Nice apartment in a humble area. The host was late and the communication via cellphone was a desaster but the flat was very nice. In the room it was very quiet despite the train station in front of the house. The bed was cosy and the bathroom was clean. They even have soy milk for breakfast!
