Stora Hotellet i Umeå

I recently stayed at Stora Hotellet in Umeå, and it was a truly memorable experience. The hotel is easy to find, with its entrance located right on the corner of the building facing the park. Stepping inside, you immediately notice that this is not an ordinary hotel. The interior is decorated in a very unique style inspired by ship cabins. My room felt cozy yet adventurous, almost like staying on an old vessel. The bed was extremely comfortable, probably one of the best hotel beds I’ve tried, and I slept very well. I also appreciated the practical details – the room came with a hairdryer and even a clothes iron, which made it easier to freshen up my outfits during the trip. Each door in the hallway has its own decoration with ships, which adds to the maritime atmosphere. One of the highlights for me was the staircase inside the hotel. It is beautifully designed, with artistic details that give the building a historic and elegant character. What also makes this hotel stand out is that the interior is connected with a library, a museum, and Umeå Hotel under a large glass roof. This combination creates an open and inspiring space that feels both cultural and relaxing. Breakfast was good, served in continental style with fresh bread, cold cuts, cheese, and other selections. Everything tasted nice, and the juice was particularly fresh and delicious. Overall, Stora Hotellet offers much more than just a place to sleep. It combines history, art, and comfort in a way that makes your stay in Umeå very special. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has beautiful interior design and very friendly service. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The rooms have good air conditioning that works well, and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that the parking is a bit expensive, but overall this is a great place to stay.

Amazing hotel beautifully decorated. The bar downstairs has very nice cocktails. The breakfast is very nice with good variety of breads, coldcuts, cheese and so on. I really liked it.

Emblematic old "town hotel". Refurbished a decade ago. The interior is some sort of stylistic crash between the old beginnings of the 20th century and the interior decorators dreams of the 2000.|Some will like it. Some will not. It's very special.||From a convenience perspective, there's nothing wrong with the hotel. Public areas as well as the rooms are nice and comfortable. Nothing lacks in particular.||Since the hotel is built beside and integrated with the large culture house "Väven", breakfast is served in the inner yard of this establishment.|Quite ok, but nothing special in any way.||Fairly affordable and definitely one hotel option to consider in Umeå.

Nice hotel with big personality😎 location in the city centre is good. Bar and ”outside” restaurant are great.

If you want a different and quirky hotel - This place is amazing. The owners have really let their imagination run wild with the decor. We loved it! Very comfy beds and lovely toiletries in the rooms. We will definitely be back! Also should our to GP’s (the Guilty Pleasures Cafe) where we had dinner as the hotel restaurant was closed on Sundays - great family place to eat. All in all we are very happy with our stay 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This could be an awesome place. The cleaning is a bit hit or miss. The soap, shampoo in the shower wasn't refilled. The black coating on the shower valve was pealing. We asked for a single 160 bed and got two beds pushed together who slid apart. Location is great and there are plenty of places to park nearby. The staff is good. The breakfast is really nice. I will probably stay here again, at least once more.

Love the feeling of being transported to another time with ships and sailors. Only the staircase is worth the trip and the details are amazing. The service is excellent as well and everybody are so helpful and kind. The breakfast is really good and love the fact that they use local products. I highly recommend this place!
