Store Ringheim, in the town of Voss, was a delightful place to stay. The rooms are bright, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The hotel is nestled in the hills with lovely views of the nearby valleys. The folk museum is just a few minutes walk away and is wonderfully done. The restaurant provided our favorite meals, both for breakfast and dinner, during our extended trip through Scandinavia. The staff are exceptionally personable and informative in this owner-staffed hotel. Artwork throughout the facility is exceptional due to the artistic ability of the owners. We have stayed in dozens of bed and breakfasts and this was one of our best experiences ever.

Store Ringheim Hotel is a special place. It's up on the hill and if you're willing to do the 30 minute uphill walk then you can get some lovely views of Voss. Of course you can always drive too.|The rooms are very comfortable, with plenty of pillows and a good shower. There's an outlet on each side of the bed. It feels very well designed.|The restaurant is excellent, both dinner and breakfast. The half board option is absolutely the way to go. Everything is fresh, local, and delicious. |The owners of the hotel know their craft well! I was there in the low season, and I was the only guest, but they still made me feel welcome.

This place is a shadow of what it used to be. The hotel’s charm has completely worn off, and the family running it seems to have lost interest in maintaining any standards. The rooms are overpriced, noisy, and far from relaxing. The food, while still decent, is nowhere near the quality it was a few years ago. Expectation times are ridiculous—there’s rarely anyone at reception, and there aren’t enough waitresses to handle even a half-full restaurant. Sadly, the hotel gets worse with each passing year, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone anymore.

First of all : on our trip in Norway this was the most expensive hotel with the lowest quality ! |Secondly : I should, before booking, have read the review of Kevin D july 2023 in Tripadvisor as he nailed it exactly as we experienced ... he used the same words as my wife and I did when we spoke to each other during our stay in Store ... poor management, poor custom service, no response on emails, lack of staff and amateuristic.|Usually I try to be mild when a stay was not that great ... but the difference with the other, good quality hotels was big and especially as they were a lot lower in price and all had excellent services and breakfast/meals !|The whole place is rustic, not super clean, bit worn out and you could see so many faults .... I even started to call it fawlty towers !|It can not be that because you have the label of a historic place that it should look a bit shabby and in need of urgent tlc !|We had a big bedroom stacked full with old furniture, nothing matching and looking like it all came from second hand shops ... a designer would go mad in such a room ... TV did not have any channels working ... many light knobs not working or confusing, bed a bit wobbly and in the wooden building you hear everything from the upstairs room. |Breakfast was minimal, rather very basic compared to the cheaper hotels we stayed in. Dinner : startes ok, but mains poorly ... chewy beef and stone cold risotto ... did not dare to talk about it as we already waited a long time for service ... the father is very friendly, a bit tired I think and wanders off, and the son seems insecure and was on the telephone couple of times. A women suddenly appeared to clean the tables after other people already left (probably bored waiting). I suppose it is still the farmer family running this place but there is a huge difference between running a hotel/restaurant and a farm. |I do not see any reason why they charge so much money for a room compared to hotels that are a lot better in every aspect.

Beautiful place with great food and lovely people. I will recommend this to everyone who visits Voss. The most magical part is sitting in the garden when the morning fog clears and reveals the panorama! Just one tip: don’t try to walk from the train station with your luggage. You can’t tell on Google Maps, but it’s essentially a 30 minute hike up a mountain.

We came 7 persons for work and meetings. The farm house hotel is very well restored and styled, making it something special with a mixture of traditional and modern, rural handcraft and modern art. The food was amazing and the service very friendly. The guest rooms are nice with a modern bathroom and a comfortable bed. The Internet and meeting facilities were excellent as well. This is a place I would love to return to. It is a bit of a walk from the train station, perhaps 30 min. but only 10 min by taxi. It is walking distance from Mølstertunet- the Voss open air museum.

The hotel is on a hillside just above Voss and is located in a bunch of converted farm buildings. The space is very charming. Our room was very nicely updated and comfortable. It was so quiet and we slept very well. No coffee/tea in the room. But a very well stocked and luxurious bathroom. It was all very clean.||The breakfast was good. Not the most amazing we had in Norway, but perfectly good. The dinner was truly amazing. I highly recommend having dinner here whether you are staying at the hotel or not. ||Service was a bit odd. The hotel was serving two large groups meals during the day when we arrived, so service was scattered and not very welcoming. Dinner service was excellent, but the rest of our interactions were fine, but not great. ||We enjoyed our stay here, but felt it was a bit expensive compared to the other places we stayed in Norway. The dinner was well worth the cost though!!

On arrival at Storeringen we were a little unsure but as soon as we were welcomed by Svein and shown to our gorgeous room, we felt completely at ease and at home. We were in the cosy Eldhuset room which dated back to the 17th century. The room has been totally renovated with a beautiful and comfortable vintage wooden painted bed, fantastic modern bathroom (great shower and toiletries), comfy armchairs, wood burner, TV (hidden away) and coffee/tea making. The gardens were gorgeous and the dinner we had in the restaurant was unexpectedly good. We had a small set tasting menu with delicious produce from their vegetable garden, and some great wine pairings. There is outside seating and dining options, and two large dining areas/rooms for functions, great for a wedding or a big party! Would highly recommend - the staff were lovely, Svein and his wife, and the waiting staff and chef.
