First of all : on our trip in Norway this was the most expensive hotel with the lowest quality ! |Secondly : I should, before booking, have read the review of Kevin D july 2023 in Tripadvisor as he nailed it exactly as we experienced ... he used the same words as my wife and I did when we spoke to each other during our stay in Store ... poor management, poor custom service, no response on emails, lack of staff and amateuristic.|Usually I try to be mild when a stay was not that great ... but the difference with the other, good quality hotels was big and especially as they were a lot lower in price and all had excellent services and breakfast/meals !|The whole place is rustic, not super clean, bit worn out and you could see so many faults .... I even started to call it fawlty towers !|It can not be that because you have the label of a historic place that it should look a bit shabby and in need of urgent tlc !|We had a big bedroom stacked full with old furniture, nothing matching and looking like it all came from second hand shops ... a designer would go mad in such a room ... TV did not have any channels working ... many light knobs not working or confusing, bed a bit wobbly and in the wooden building you hear everything from the upstairs room. |Breakfast was minimal, rather very basic compared to the cheaper hotels we stayed in. Dinner : startes ok, but mains poorly ... chewy beef and stone cold risotto ... did not dare to talk about it as we already waited a long time for service ... the father is very friendly, a bit tired I think and wanders off, and the son seems insecure and was on the telephone couple of times. A women suddenly appeared to clean the tables after other people already left (probably bored waiting). I suppose it is still the farmer family running this place but there is a huge difference between running a hotel/restaurant and a farm. |I do not see any reason why they charge so much money for a room compared to hotels that are a lot better in every aspect.
