Storeytown Cottages

We had an amazing time at Storeytown Cottages in Doaktown, NB for a bachelor party weekend. From start to finish, the service was top-notch. Kaitlyn and Mike were incredibly helpful—especially when we had a last-minute request to accommodate a friend with a canoe, and they made it happen without hesitation. The tubing down the river was beautiful and relaxing, and the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of firewood, space to hang out, and flexibility to enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were bothering anyone—or being bothered. It’s a great spot for a group getaway, and we’re already talking about coming back. Highly recommend Storeytown if you're looking for a fun, scenic, and stress-free stay in NB!

We have been here a few times now and it never disappoints! Rainy weekend but it didn't matter, we had a woodstove, hot tub and even had a bonfire with umbrellas. (btw- roasted rice crispy squares are better than just marshmallows, you're welcome) Nice trails to walk the dog, screened in porches.... Can't wait to go back. Keep up the good work folks! We usually prefer the River Hut but I think the Hilltop is my new favorite.

All I can say is “Wow”. This place is unbelievable. The service is incredible, the owners are extremely nice and helpful. There is so much to do aside from tubing down the River …. Which was a great experience!!! I can’t believe someone complained about leeches! It’s a river right? The rooms were so clean and very updated. Our tubing experience was incredible and on time. We were so impressed and even enjoyed their lovely daughter who was also helpful and friendly. See you next year!!

Amazing stay! Highly recommend! Beautiful spot on the Miramichi. We stayed at the Big Oak cottage, lots of space for a family of 7 and everything we needed. Clean, nice and comfortable. We will be back! Tubing down the river was a lot of fun.

We rented 2 kayaks last Tuesday and used the transportation service and had a blast. The water was low which we were totally aware of but it was still a fun kayak along the river. We chose one route that wasn’t the most popular but we just popped out of the kayaks and dragged them to deeper water and it was no bother, all part of the adventure. The staff were awesome and accommodating and the exit was well visible and easy to get out. I’d highly recommend Storeytown cottages for all your water sports during the summer along the Miramichi River. Super fun time.

The staff do everything in their power to pander to their guests. Our kids and dogs were welcomed with open arms (figuratively). The water was low, so instead of complaining that we had to get out and walk the 5m to deeper water, we enjoyed the extended time on the river. The cottages are clean with all the necessary appointments. The place is ideal for a multi or extended family get together. We rented all of the cottages for 3 nights. Some of the kids were disappointed that they did not see any leeches as promised by one disgruntled reviewer.

This place is outstanding! Serenity on the water. Cozy mornings by the wood stove. Lots of things to do, like Kayaking, tubing and fishing in crystal clear water. The peaceful sounds of nature will help you feel rested.

We had an absolute hellish experience tubing on the Miramichi river. The water was low, storytown cottages didn't shut down service and shuttled us up the river to go tubing. What should have been a 2 hour tubing experience turned into 5 hours bc often times the river was so low we had to walk and drag the tubes. the river in this area is also full of leeches, which we didnt notice until about hour 4. Well most of us only had 1-2 leeches on us, my 5 year old had about 20-25, on her ankles, feet and a lot of her butt and lower back that were hidden from her sitting in the tube. Normally she'd stay in the tube while we got out and drug them over the rocks when the water was low but near the end the water was so low I lifted her out and saw that she was polluted with leeches. we had to pull them all off there and she was covered in blood. we made the decision to dock the tubes on rocks and walk the rest of the way up the river until we got to a bank that wasnt steep and we all climbed up, walked through some woods and came out to storytown cottages. when I told the guy running it what had hapoened he said that I should expect leeches on still water. i didn't know the river was still water and never experienced this problem at gallens or stewarts tubing and was more than disappointed with his response. if they know that the river is low and there is lecches they shouldnt be selling tubing experiences. we were ripped off. a 2 hour tubing experience turned into 5 hours of us walking our tubes town a river with a child covered in leeches. i absolutely would not recommend this company.
