Two years ago I posted a glowing review of this cafe. Every year we come to visit family in Lithuania and this would be one of the most special places for us to come get a great cup of coffee and simply relax. We always looked forward to coming here during our yearly Christmas visit. After visiting the cafe last year, today was our first time visiting the cafe after a year break. I had heard that the cafe was sold by the original owners at the end of last year. Unfortunately, it was absolutely gut wrenching to see what the cafe has become under the new ownership and we felt like we had lost a truly special place. The cafe felt run down since we last visited and felt like it hasn't been cleaned since then too. We came in around 1-2h after their opening time. As we looked for a seat, the only available spot was absolutely covered in sugar, pastry and dirt. The floor looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. We asked for some water and the glasses we received were caked in lipstick, lipbalm and fingerprints. I have truly never seen anything like this. The toilet looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks either. It was truly unpleasant after years of so happily frequenting this great place. Such accumulation of dirt is perhaps more understandable in a big chain restaurant with a lot of foot traffic and overworked staff. However, this is a tiny cafe that specialises in coffee and pastry and the staff often have space between clients that allows time for thorough cleaning of the premises. Even if this was not the case time can be made during closing to clean up properly. We were truly saddened by the state of our favourite cafe since our last visit.
