Room was very clean and freshly updated. We had a very quiet night and the check in process was wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Loved the location as it is walking distance to so many great restaurants and shops. This place would be perfect if they invested in better beds and pillows. That was the only downside. Bed was hard and not comfortable. Still slept great though. There aren’t many amenities in the room such as a hair dryer, microwave or clock. Some toiletries are available. Breakfast was really good

The Stork Nest Inn was an incredible place to stay as a home base for our adventures. The rooms are clean and well-designed, the pine panelling fills the room with its scent making every entry into the room smell like you're in your own personal cabin. The people who run the Inn are very kind and accommodating as well, which makes the Inn feel like you're coming home every night rather than to just another hotel. The breakfast is delicious! Eggs made however you would like and sausages, hash browns, and pancakes waiting for you. We always looked forward to the breakfast. The location is incredible. The walkability into downtown was such a nice treat so you never have to go far for dinner. Coupled with the abundance of trails on the nearby Hudson Bay Mtn there is always lots to do nearby. Overall, we loved our stay at the Stork Nest Inn and will definitely be returning in the future.

I travel to Smithers frequently for work, and have stayed basically everywhere - storks nest is always my first choice. Super clean rooms, building is a little older but it’s very well maintained, there’s a cozy log cabin vibe in the rooms, and lovely friendly staff who cook you eggs to order for breakfast in the morning! Always fun to support a local family business as well! The owners and staff are always around and clearly take a ton of pride in their work. Will obviously be back! :)

Made to feel very welcome by the receptionist the moment we walked in. Great central location and free on site parking. Room very comfortable and warm. Endless tea and coffee available from the restaurant. ||Does not serve dinner but plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. ||Breakfast included. A buffet with a good range of hot and cold choices, and your eggs freshly cooked to order.||Couldn’t fault anything.

Staff was very nice and accommodating to us arriving late. The room was clean, but a bit old with a slight smell. The bed was very hard, but for a quick night it did the trick. The breakfast in the morning was simple, filling, and convenient

Yelp
Before I start this review please understand this is not a fancy chain hotel with all the bells and whistles. Let me be honest this wasnt my first choice I tried the bells and whistle places and they were all booked. Pulling up I wasnt sure This is like coming home and staying with family. The rooms are nice a little older but the beds are comfy and it has everything you need. Ok I guess this never posted so I'll finish the review. As I stated the hotel had what you needed. No frills but a good bed and a place to shower. Normally I would not rate a hotel like this so high. It was nice but not the Ritz(do they have those in Canada). The reason I'm leaving such a high review is the people and the breakfast. I would stay here just for the hospitality. Good up and they made me a fresh breakfast that my grandma would have been proud of.

Yelp
In all honesty this was absolute pp, there were so many issues and I was about to get myself another hotel. The bathrooms have no locks so goodbye privacy, showers had no heat and the water pressure was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE You're not even allowed to sit in the cafeteria when it isn't breakfast, 1/3 of the staff members I incountered were very rude and welcoming. The wifi was about s**t and it only worked in the cafeteria (whichwe couldn't go in) so we had to go to Mac Donald's. Some of the food was alright, but some was absolutely terrible. On the plus side one of the staff members was extremely welcoming, others were eh and/or terrible. 11/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was horrible, the wifi is basically nonexistent in our room and you are not allowed to sit in the common area? some of the staff were friendly and pleasant while others were rude and snarky beyond belief. neither of the two rooms our group had had a bathroom door that locked and the showers were tiny, the water pressure was horrible and the hot water was scarce, 11/10 would never stay here again

Yelp
The room was too small. The A/C was loud. The shower was tiny, even for my petite wife. The hot water was very sporadic. To get to our room we had to walk all the way to the end of the 1st floor hallway, go up the stairs and walk all the way to the end of the second floor to get to our room. Now I know what it would be like to be in prison. 1 star because they served breakfast but get there early or else you won't find a table.

Yelp
Good Food, Nice Room, Nice TV. I loved this hotel so much. The breakfast was so amazing. If you are going to Canada this is the place to be. No sane adult would turn down the opportunity to stay in this hotel. Wifi was pretty slow, but if you don't set your expectations to high then you will be pleased.

Yelp
I just came back from a 6 day trip to Smithers. I stayed at the Stork Nest Inn and it was great. My room was clean and tidy with a nice new Sony Bravia TV on the wall and the bed was comfortable. Included in the rate was a nice hot breakfast each morning which consisted of toast, cereal, pancakes, eggs, sausage and your coice of juice, coffee, etc. The staff were really friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The only downer was the steam room which didn't seem to heat up that much. Maybe I just didn't wait long enough? Hey I was cold from fishing all day ;) If you're in Smithers to fish, hunt or just to tour around and see the sights, this is a great place to stay.

Yelp
The usual greats like comfortable, clean, and great service. The over the top was the free breakfast! It was eggs to order. They were cooked perfectly and had all the great sides like bacon, hash browns, pancakes, etc. Great location.

Yelp
SNI is centrally located and provides a clean, quiet stay in the equally so town of Smithers. The rooms and breakfast area are squeaky-clean, and everything works well, especially the eggs made-to-order at breakfast, and their generous accompaniments. Cable and WiFi worked well; the former provided a good variety of channels. Staff are friendly and the midnite curfew, when they effectively lock up the place, is not a problem. The owner knew the area well, and gave me some good tips about local sporting activities; Francois and Ootsa Lakes are nearby and traveling the FSR to, from, and around them is a delight. The only suggestion I have for SNI is to improve the layout and accessibility; to reach the rooms on the second floor, one must go to the end of the hallway opposite the office on the first floor, carry your luggage upstairs (there's no elevator), and then backtrack to wherever your room is on the second, which may well be right above the office. Other than that, I'll gladly return to both it and Smithers, and spend even more time in the beautiful Bulkley Valley.

Yelp
This place is barebones. Maybe a bit less in fact, with dated and wearing features. Most unpleasant is the price, which is pretty much the same as a pretty good hotel.
