You can never go wrong with a smokehouse and Storrs showed up with the best the area has to offer and did not disappoint. We tried out their brisket sandwich, ribs and a side of Mac, and they were delicious, seasoned and smoked to perfection. The prices were very reasonable for the portions and excellent quality. From what I noticed they have limited inventory, so you might want to call ahead or arrive earlier in the day, looking forward to trying their chicken next time. Highly recommended!

Google
Not bad. Got a similar experience to another reviewer when going in the evening on the weekend. I would like to try this place closer to opening. They ran out of chicken, but the pulled pork and brisket were alright. Meats were a little on the dry side, but not overly salty. Spicy barbecue sauce was thin but not bad. Plates should have been heated before serving, as my food cooled down too quickly. Service was nice. The interior had some smoke, which got on my clothes and had me cough a couple times.

Unfortunately if anyone asked, I'd tell them to avoid this place. The ribs were so dry and tough I had to carve/saw the meat off the bone. My husband's brisket was just slabs of fat and no meat, it was inedible. The Mac had no flavor so we ended up leaving and getting food elsewhere which is frustrating after dropping $50 for a meal you can't eat. They also don't have air or fans so it was sweltering inside.

Came here for a birthday dinner but just got some plates to go. It was really good. I'm a big fan of barbecue but I like to do it at home so you never really can tell how it's going to turn out at a restaurant. The brisket was really really good really flavorful, the pork was fantastic super super good. The ribs aren't my favorite, I wouldn't order those again. Besides and the bread was really good and also the sauce was really tasty.

Google
Got the Gran Daddy with a side of Mac and cheese. The pulled pork was fantastic as well as the chicken wings. I’m not usually a chicken wing person (I have that weird issue with bones most the time) but the smoky flavor and perfect cook on these is fantastic! I will get them every time. The ribs were great as well. Tender and had a decent amount of meat on the bones. I’m not a rib person but I would eat them again. The sauces are superb! Got both styles and both are fantastic. Perfect blend of smoky, sweet, and spicy. Here’s what I didn’t love. The brisket was tough. The Mac and cheese was grainy. We ordered ahead and took our meal to go. The second you walk in you are engulfed in the wonderful smell of bbq’ meats. The decor is pleasant and fits the theme very well. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Google
As someone who spent the 1st 18 years of my life in Texas before I could escape, almost every BBQ place I’ve eaten at since has very large shoes to fill. This place made me believe that there can be good BBQ this side of the Rio Grande. Phenomenal cook on the chicken and pulled pork. The bread had some secret butter that was familiar and delicious. But that spicy bbq sauce tho. Hands down the icing on the bbq-flavored cake. 10/10 recommend. But Google only lets me give five stars, and def a splurge. But no good BBQ is ever cheap.

Google
Let's face it, there are different types of barbecue, so it's important to know that this is more Carolina style, and as such, you're not going to find the meat slathered in sweet sticky sauce. I give it five stars for what I had. I came in on a very busy weekend afternoon, and not surprisingly, like any good BBQ place, many items were sold out by the time I got there. Thankfully two of my favorites were available and I would say it was some of the best I've had in this area. I tried it all before adding a drop of sauce, just to appreciate it for what it is, and it was so good, I nearly ate it all before I remembered that I wanted to try the sauce.

Google
The aroma of their bbq and the flavor is the best i’ve ever tasted. Love this place for that. Unfortunately, I can’t handle a meal that is 2/3 savory fat, a tablespoon or 2 of actual meat, a 2 tablespoon portion of slaw and the thinnest but most delicious pickle spear, along with two heels of tough texas toast. Bummed, sure smells good. Wish I could get more slaw or something. But I probably won’t go back mainly bc I just can’t handle the quantity of fat that was my bbq, rather than meat, plus the sparest slaw, sad dry baked beans - bummer.

Yelp
Great BBQ!!! This is another place I've been waiting to try and have been missing out on some darn good bbq. You order at the corner and they bring the food to your table. I loved the simplicity of the menu. It's hot inside on summer days but the doors being open help circulate the air. I ordered the brisket sandwich and oh man that was one of the best ones I've ever had. The ciabatta bread was the right amount of crispy for a crunch in every bite. The meat was tender and well seasoned and the sauce was a great touch. The ribs were so tender the meat came right off the bone. Mac and cheese was the cheesiness I expect and the baked beans were a good addition too. This is my new BBQ go to spot

Fran A.

Yelp
Very good bbq had ribs and brisket Rustic environment Nice guys and friendly too Easy on street parking

Sara Y.

Yelp
Tasty bbq meal and great service. It was super hot outside and inside as well, the AC probably wasn't working if they have any, but they offered us frozen mugs and ice with our canned sodas to make sure they were cool enough.

Todd H.

Yelp
You know it's good when they are sold out of everything almost every day. No matter how much they make or smoke. People just take whatever they have left till it's all gone. Can there be a better statement of how good a restaurants food is? I'd like to know how you top well every night they sell out till they are out of everything. I'm not going to say the best atmosphere or the best ambience. I don't even k ow if it's a date night or even a family night decor. The service isn't always the most polite or the most attentive. I mean they are busy and most people are in a panic to get ahead of you or at least get their order in before it's all gone or the last order. No one wants to be the person behind the person that ordered the last brisket but that's it all out we have this left ? Want it ? Because the person behind you will take it if you dont. You may be surprised to see 5 stars here but it's all about the food. I don't pretend to be from the NYT and some pretentious writer. You want good food ? Go here. You want something else ? Get out of the way the next person wants to order

Yelp
Stopped by for a try of some local smoked meat and found some legit BBQ in my backyard. I am a BBQ enthusiast and I can confirm Storrs serves up some great food! The smoke level is perfect! I tried the Gran' Daddy and found the chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket to all be well seasoned but not over seasoned with too much sodium, etc. Definitely a hidden Jem here in Newberg!

Yelp
This place isn't as good as I remember it when I reviewed it in 2014. Maybe it's what I ordered but it was just not as "damn, this shit is bomb" like last time. Me and my bestie Jenni-Pants! just finished wine tasting at Carlton Cellars and Bravuro Cellars and we were both hungry, buzzed, and in no condition to drive. We had walked by this place on our way to go wine tasting and made a mental note of it's location for later. I had forgotten that I'd been there before. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which comes with a sliced dill pickle and a little cup of coleslaw. We both started in on our sandwiches and noticed there was no BBQ sauce. The sandwiches were mighty bland. Luckily on of the young men working there came out and asked us how everything was. We asked for BBA sauce. There was a lot of fat on the meat so we both took it off the bun and ended up eating it with a knife and fork. I would probably go back just to see if this was just an off day or if their standards have really changed. Customer service is still very good. 2021 - Review 20

Yelp
Ribs - that's all you need to know - mic drop. Was in the area visiting the Willamette wine region w my wife for a long weekend and we were nearby and had plans to eat at their sister restaurant "The Painted Lady" that evening so we stopped by and split a full rack of Saint Louis style smoked ribs. Nice peppery outside crispy layer and didn't need any sauce at all. Good sized portion for $25 for the rack and my wife and I made a meal outta that rack - dinner was even better down the block at their fine dining joint ! Well done. Pics attached. Note da ribs !

Yelp
Really good first visit. My kids live in Newberg and had been telling us about it. They were really busy when we got here so they were out of a few things. I always judge a bbq place first by their pulled pork. This was really good. Not the best I've had, but way above average for Oregon. (I lived in the south for 15 years.) Props for having a Carolina vinegar sauce. I prefer it to be a bit spicier but once again it was good. I loved the ribs. The rub on it was flavorful and unique. Love the fact it tasted original and not like any I've ever had. The ribs were not fall off the bone, nor were they chewy. A really good medium. Great sweet bbq sauce was a great complement. We got the last of the mac and cheese. Cheesey goodness. The slaw was good, kind of a mustard base. (Could be wrong.) Last thing- their Texas toast was great too. Buttered and griddled. Will be back. Can't wait to try some more!

Kathy H.

Yelp
This is our second visit, and it's the best bbq we've ever had. Friendly staff , we tried a brisket sandwich and a large Mac and cheese. It was the best Mac and cheese I've ever eaten. Absolutely perfect

Michelle C.

Yelp
My bookclub was in Newberg for the weekend and stopped into Storrs Smokehouse! We got our food to go because we were staying at a nearby airbnb. The food was amazing! I got the brisket and a side of the three bean salad! So good. The macaroni was creamy and delicious as well! I highly recommend stopping in at Storrs Smokehouse if you are in the area! You will not be disappointed! I can't wait to go back and bring my husband!

Gina H.

Yelp
I was searching to have some BBQ ribs for Christmas and came across Storrs. Got the two meat platter with brisket and pork ribs. Wow! The Brisket is so tender that it will melt in your mouth. Seasoned perfectly! The Pork ribs are smoky and also full of flavors. The texture is closer to dry jerky but still soft and tender. The meat platter comes with small cole slaw, a pickle and thick slice of bread, which were decent. The side of BBQ sauce was good too. Definitely, will be back soon!

Kevin O.

Yelp
So good. Make sure you call a day in advance for big orders. I did not know this, but guy working was still cool and sent me home with close to what I needed. I love the ribs, brisket, and chicken wings. Great flavors and some tasty sides. Worth the drive if you are not close by.

Michael S.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Storrs. Especially their brisket sandwich. We often get two sandwiches and a pound of pulled pork to-go. Also when they have half a smoked chicken, get that too. My wife really likes their 3 Bean Salad. I'm not much of one for collard greens so I pass on that. The baked beans are fine. Sweet and a little smokey. I wish they had a potato salad, but that's not really a BBQ staple so I understand.

Tori W.

Yelp
Best barbecue in the area for a great Texas style price! My favorite was the pulled pork and brisket. The big daddy plate was enough for leftovers at home.

Jeff M.

Yelp
I bought a pound of pulled pork. About half of what they served me was semi-disgusting fat or skin. THAT AIN'T RIGHT. I won't be going back.

Cara M.

Yelp
The smell wafts down the street luring in its next customers. Good bbq, if it were in Portland, people would be lined down the street

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Had the brisket super tasty, slaw was good also. Small inside but do have some seating. If you had a large group I'd probably call it in before hand and just do takeout. They also do sell out if certain items so I'd you have your heart set on something specific probably worth it to call first and make sure they have some available.

Yelp
My friends live in Newberg and recommended trying this place out. We did take out ordering a half rack of baby back ribs, a dozen chicken wings, cole slaw, Mac n cheese and 2 Ice cream sandwiches. This was PLENTY for two people, three would probably be fine too unless they are all hungry big dudes. Ribs - Really good smoke flavor, tender and juicy. They were a little greasy which was strange for ribs, but maybe they were basting them during the smoke. They gave us a little bit of a hard time about getting two to go containers of each type of sauce, which seemed weird to me... I want sauce with my bbq and there were two of us. Sauces - "CU" was kind of weird to me. It was a little more like a chutney texture and didn't add much flavor. Hot was my favorite, though I think it could have had even more kick if it were up to me. The sweet was very classic and, after tasting a TON of Pinot Noirs earlier that day I could definitely taste that element. Very tasty. Chicken wings - hands down, this was my favorite thing. The smoke flavor was bold snd delicious. The crunch was awesome. I only wish I would have tossed them in the hot bbq sauce instead of dip them but that's personal preference for sure. Cole slaw - this was fine. It was fresh and crunchy and broke up all the meat, but I think the celery seed was a little over powering in our batch. Mac - Pretty good, probably better fresh from the restaurant instead of traveling to go. I liked that they got the creamy real cheese texture without it separating. Ice cream sandwiches - we got the coffee ones because that's all that was left. The ice cream flavor was AWESOME. The cookie outside left a little to be desired for me. It was too rich and overpowered the ice cream. Overall this was a great meal and I'll definitely come back for another round next time I'm visiting!!

Yelp
So we heard about this place from the naked lady waiter and were excited about what we heard. Unfortunately this place was a disaster. After trying to sit down we were then told that we stand up and go to the counter to order. So we did. We tried one of each meat. This meat was SO DRY and COLD. I felt like I was chewing on leather on the chicken, brisket and ribs. The ribs were so hard it felt like a dog treat I would give to my dog. The macaroni looked like throw up. Collard greens tasted old and rotten. Biscuits were cold and hard as a rock. The only thing that was some what edible was the pulled pork and even that I nearly broke my tooth on a hidden bone. We spent over $60 for everything including their nasty plum cheesecake for ice cream that tasted like it was sitting for the last year. Opened it up and it looked like it had been sitting for a year as well. Biggest waste of money and the lady upfront provided no insight to the menu or sounded like she knew anything. She just sat there and stared at us awkwardly while we were trying to navigate the place as their are a couple menus one difficult to see that had the sides on. My stomach hurts from what I ate. The sauces aren't all labeled. It was freezing inside there. TURN ON THE HEAT. And the place was dirty.

Marina f.

Yelp
Maybe we hit them on an off day, but we were here for our first visit yesterday and it was less than impressive. They were out of a bunch of items and what they did have was not very good. Brisket was bland and the beans were not a flavor you would expect at a BBQ place - but the Mac & cheese was good and their side sauce was pretty good. All the drinks in the cooler were room temp, including the beer . So - obviously we won't be back.

Zoe F.

Yelp
I am ashamed of myself for living here for 3 years and never trying this place till now. Amazing food! We ordered, the brisket (delicious and fall apart tender), a dozen chicken wings (perfect amount of spice and smoke, picked clean to the bone tasty), side of baked beans (delicious but a little hard for my taste), side of Mac and cheese (perfectly cheesy and creamy) and side of collard greens (better than your grandma could make). Please forgive lack of pictures, it was just to good. Definitely would go back again and again

Jessy M.

Yelp
Good BBQ, but it was a little different. A good find in Newberg and we will definitely go back when In that area. Wasn't our personal favorite but good enough to go back when nearby just won't make special trips there. Cute little place though and great service.

Bruce J.

Yelp
I was at work and had a craving for barbecue. I did not want to go to a chain. After a little bit of research online I found Storrs. Close enough to work and their online menu looked amazing. Placed my order and went to pick it up. Decided the Gran' Daddy (try 'em all) would give me a great experience. The brisket was smoky and tender. It almost melted in my mouth. The pool park was great especially with her sweet barbecue sauce. I really enjoyed the ribs. But what surprised me the most were the chicken wings. I decided since these excited me the least I would save them till the end of my lunch. My first bite into one I realized that I unintentionally save the best for last. Wow. These were good. I plan to go back just for an order. The meat fell off the bones. The flavor was phenomenal. These weren't like some places where a pepper will be the only thing you taste. With these, Every spice and seasoning exploded in my mouth. I couldn't get enough. I was slurping the wings down trying to make sure I did not inhaler bone. The people here were friendly. I can't leave that out. Good food good service he's going to bring me back. I would've posted a picture but I was too hungry.

Whitney H.

Yelp
I called in for a pick up order yesterday. We tried the pulled pork, smoked chicken wings, Mac n cheese, beans, and cole slaw. It was all delicious! The meats were smoked and had so much flavor and I loved the sweet sauce and the spicy sauce. The mac n cheese was creamy and cheesy and the beans had a great flavor too. Thank you!

Erik M.

Yelp
This is a tough one for me. The service was awesome and everyone in the restaurant was extremely nice. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was a solid 4/5 and the macaroni and cheese (wife is vegetarian) and it was a 1/5. It has the texture of glue and I couldn't distinguish any actual cheese flavor. If I was by myself I would go back, but sadly we won't be returning as a couple since there isn't anything tasty for her to eat.

Anita W.

Yelp
Walked in the back door and by the smokers. Breathe that smell in and start drooling!!! Oh man, I think every restaurant should have food smoking in the back. Amazing. The pulled pork was amazing and the brisket was so, so yummy. The only complaint I have is that the brisket sandwich was a little light on the meat. My husbands pulled pork was piled high, while I barely had enough to cover the bun. The potato salad and cole slaw were good. I would definitely go back and have both the pulled pork and brisket again. Some of their ice cream looked good too, so I would like to try that if I'm not so stuffed that I can't eat another bite...this is a real concern. If you want good bbq visit this place and I don't think you will be disappointed. Can't wait to try this place again when we are in town!! YUM!

Tammy F.

Yelp
Brisket sandwich had WAY to much fat!!! So gross! Whoever prepped the sandwich needs to pay more attention and trim it off. Made my meal very disappointing.

Ellen G.

Yelp
Storr's Smokehouse serves the most awesome BBQ. I orderded the smoked brisket, which was tender and perfectly smoked. My husband ordered his usual (for anywhere) pulled pork plate which was moist and tasted great. Just go!

Ryan O.

Yelp
Great little BBQ place. Everything was great. Especially loved the collared greens which was a surprise as I only went in for the meat (Which was also great!)

Tara B.

Yelp
Great place to get tasty bbq! Pulled pork was super tender without being watery! They have a few places to sit but are great for grab and go!

Tom A.

Yelp
We live in Sherwood, it was our first time there tonight 8/4... recommended by a friend of ours. Sooo good. Place was clean, amazing service... super friendly and helpful. I had the ribs, wife has the wings... kid has the Mac and cheese. Ribs were super tender and tasty, great sauces to go with. Mac and cheese was sticky and off the hook! Wife said the wings were great. Definitely will go back. Easy in and out, and reasonably priced. Good job you guys.. appreciate the great friendly service!

Wayne G.

Yelp
Absolutely the best BBQ anywhere in USA! I get a pound of pulled pork, large coleslaw, large baked beans and small macaroni and cheese and it feeds to adults and two kids for 27 dollar! The sauces are amazing the hot and Carolina vinegar mixed are great plus I add some sweet Pinot while eating on the end.

Brian K.

Yelp
I am reluctant to share this but do only cause I think the owner needs to hear how horribly the staff is dropping the ball. First visited a week ago and was disappointed at how dry and tough the Ribs were. After trying to choke down two bones I attempted to share my thoughts with the young lady at the counter to get a blank stare as if I had egg in my face. No offer to make it right or even any show of concern. After getting completely blown off I knew it was time to move on. Thought I would five a second chance cause I hate to judge a place on one potential bad day. However I was not impressed. Almost from the beginning the cook was not in a good mood and as we sat to look at the menu was informed the all three of the items I was interested in they were out of. This is sad cause I can see sooo much potential for this place and I had such high hopes. I hope they pick up there game.

Kelly S.

Yelp
favorite place to go for some ribs !! never disappoints. LOVE the baked beans as well

Eric F.

Yelp
A small BBQ joint tucked away in Newberg, the meats were very much a mixed bag. While my brother and I enjoyed the flavorful, fatty pulled pork, the beef brisket was painfully dry and borderline inedible without copious amounts of sauce. The St. Louis style pork ribs were solid - decent smoke presence and lean without being overly dry. The chicken wings had firm spice and weren't bad.

Emi L.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Slow roasted, pulled apart beautifully. We just moved to town and this will definitely be a place we come weekly.

Tanya M.

Yelp
Cute place in downtown Newberg. Exceptional and friendly service. Food is prepared quickly. Various meat options with sides like macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and biscuits. Nice little patio for outdoor seating on nice days. They even make their own ice cream. They have a couple beers on tap - both were good craft selections when we were there.

Orr R.

Yelp
The brisket itself was great... but the ciabatta was fairly stale. And they didn't have any ice cream sandwiches! I'd give it another chance and maybe order just a plate of the brisket, but I was still mildly annoyed about the bread. :(

gary g.

Yelp
Pretty good bbq but nit outstanding, the brisket was quite tasty, the ribs kinda ok,...the beans decent. Their sauce was only ok. Good not great.

Scott H.

Yelp
Even the end is good. I haven't had too much luck finding BBQ out in the west suburbs. A friend of mine suggested that we go to this place. So I obliged. I have my favorite BBQ place that has the best brisket ever. So I'm reluctant to order brisket anywhere else. I was feeling lucky so I got the brisket. It was very tasty with some good smoke. We were the last customers of the day, so I don't think I ended up getting the best part of the brisket, but what I did get was super tasty. I would give it another chance earlier in the day. We also got some pulled pork. He asked if we wanted some bark and we agreed. The bark makes the pork awesome. Many times people leave it out and you just get this homogenized mass of pork meat. The bark provides this sweet smokey fattiness that you can't get anywhere else. The plates come with some awesome homemade pickles and some coleslaw thats...well, it's coleslaw. Top everything off with their Pinot Noir BBQ sauce. I like my sauce on the sweet side, but this was almost too sweet. But as I ate it with the magical smoky meats, it started to grow on me. One thing I loved was that I didn't feel ripped off from my meal. Most BBQ places leave you with that "did I just pay that much for that?" feeling. I'm definitely coming back from some better cuts and getting my meat on.

Keri H.

Yelp
Popped into storrs for lunch on the way out to the coast it was very economical and casual. I was unimpressed by the customer service that didn't seem interested in talking about their products or asking us if we need help figuring out what we wanted but nevertheless we just ordered a combo plate to share which had brisket pulled pork ribs coleslaw and we ordered a side of macaroni and cheese and barbecued beans. The portion of meat was exceedingly generous for only $19 more than two people could eat which surprised us the meat was flavorful my favorite was the pulled pork which was very juicy however I was extremely underwhelmed by the choices of barbecue sauce. They were very runny non we're actually spicy and it did not seem like anyone making the sauces had ever actually eatenbarbecue sauce. The beans were so so the macaroni was creamy and thick and delicious but the coleslaw was only vinegar-based lacked the cream of mayo and was completely tasteless. they have something good going here I hope they can improve their barbecue sauce and their sides.

Sara B.

Yelp
Pulled pork and collard greens are delish! Great vibe, service and music... and it smells amazing!

Raymond H.

Yelp
Just had the brisket which was very good, however the chefs ends were fabulous. They fell apart when I ate them, juicy and tender, amazing. Definitely on my return list. They had a hot BBQ sauce made with a Pinot. Interesting flavor however not enough hear for me. 2 guys working behind the counter taking care of everything, really good service.

Kathleen A.

Yelp
First time visiting this place. Ordered ribs chicken slaw and pulled pork. Shared mac n cheese and ribs. Great value. Ribs were juicy. Needed additional bbq sauce. Spouse liked his meal too. Gonna go back!!!

Erik M.

Yelp
This was probably the worst bbq experience I've ever had. First of all the ribs were tough and fatty. Very little flavor and there bbq sauce was really poor. Secondly the Brisket was extremely dry much like beef jerky. The Mac and cheese was similar to Kraft and the Collard Greens were just bland!! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Save your hard earned money. This place was in general Horrible. The stay was okay but there service didn't make up for there disaster bbq!!

Jason S.

Yelp
It's damn good. It's a presentation like traditional BBQ, and the closest thing to a Texas style "meat, white bread, and side" thing I've had in Oregon. The flavor is not as Texas, but very good. It's just stylistically different flavor, and I'm not enough of a BBQ aficionado to know what region they're channeling here. I liked all the sauces, so no problem. I had no issue with the portions, I felt they were appropriate. The brisket was wonderful and the beer selection was solid. I would come back... might make the trip from Beaverton again, or if I'm in the neighborhood it would be a very attractive option.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Exceptional food and exceptional service. I had the ribs and she had the chicken. We closed out the joint and they were super kind and we will absolutely be coming back here the next time we visit. Jeff & Kerry

John B.

Yelp
I have been here a few times now and the service is always good and the food is very delicious. I have tried the pulled pork, brisket, chicken wings and the ribs also stop in for breakfast I love the biscuits and gravy. My wife love the hash she says it's the best she has ever had. Oh and don't forget to get some ice cream for desert so yummy!!

Sara R.

Yelp
Good ribs, brisket sandwich looked yummy (friend said was good). Side note: Sandwich had sour kraut on it... Dill pickles were homemade and yummy Coleslaw was not all that great... Best sauce is the Spicy Oregon Pinot! If you like spice this is nice but could be a little thicker. Over all good (not amazing but decent)

Paul J.

Yelp
bbq was great -- better than bbq i've had in places like austin, TX. brisket was moist and fatty, pulled pork was good too. service was friendly. definitely going back if i'm ever in newberg, OR
