We stayed two nights at this hotel during a south coast road trip (it was booked for us by Nordic Visitor). ||Stracta is an odd little hotel and I have mixed feelings about it. It certainly wasn't a bad stopping place, but somehow the photos make it seem nicer than it is. ||Check-in was friendly and efficient, we were given two rooms across from each other. Rooms are in funny little pods that branch off from the main building structure (we were in the 600 block). The rooms were small and minimally appointed - good for sleeping in and nothing else. There was a kettle and a couple tea bags/instant coffee pouches but that's it. We were travelling with a cooler bag of food and were disappointed that neither room had a fridge, but the bar was happy to provide us with ice to keep our things cold. ||There is no view from the room (we were looking at the wall of the next pod of rooms) but the hotel does have a nice little aurora tunnel you can sit in, an outdoor patio you can use if the weather is nice, outdoor saunas and hot tubs. The hot tub was not very warm the evening I used it, so I didn't bother the second night. Some rooms get complimentary robes, but they were not included in ours so that made the walk back from the tub a little uncomfortable. ||The bathroom is also very small, but clean. The shower was good. ||I personally found the bed to be too soft, not very supportive, and the curtains did little to block the sun (thankfully I had my sleep mask with me as it is June and the sun doesn't set this time of year). ||Breakfast was buffet style each morning and very busy. I think this is a very popular bus tour stop as there were multiple buses there during our stay and the breakfast was packed with people each morning. Good spread of food though - hot items were bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, potatoes, and oatmeal. Cold items were boiled eggs, slices meats and cheeses, fruits, vegetables, cereals and breads. There was a DIY waffle area, a couple espresso and juice machines. ||In the evenings there is a restaurant and bar. There is also a little gift shop that they will open up by request.
