Lovely hotel, and nice reception. Overall we were happy with the Spartan room the only thing was it was quite far away from the reception. Place is warm and clean. We had food at the restaurant which was nice and a drink at the bar. Breakfast was also nice. Go visit the caves and the Hella waterfall. I recommend buying salmon caught in the local river.

Spent 2 nights in Stracta hotel during summer. We were given a room in the outdoor without shelter, so it was quite a hassle when it rained. Otherwise the room was pretty standard size, squeezy for 3 people, would be fine for 2. Didn't manage to try the hot tub as it was full with patrons. Do not forget the complimentary drinks, Cheers!

This was our first visit to Iceland with Sarga holidays, we stopped in this beautiful hotel which had a warm and welcoming atmosphere everything was comfortable with plenty of facilities and lovely food if a little pricey which is to be expected in Iceland. Staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. We were given a call at 2.15am as requested to see the Northern Lights which we were grateful for. Our room was small however cosy and very warm and clean, mattress and pillows were perfect for me personally. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

This was by far our worst hotel experience during a 12 day stay in Iceland. We had a 2 bedroom apartment that smelled so strongly of mildew we had to sleep with the windows open. The furnishings were uncomfortable, the sheets were rough, the tv was prehistoric, but the breakfast was passable. Giving it 2 stars because there were beds, pillows, blankets and heating. Do yourself a favor and stay in Selfoss or Vik instead.

The Stracta Hotel is conveniently located off of Route 1 in Hella. It is a very large hotel property, and it seems like it is a stopover point for a lot of bus tours of Iceland. That being said, we did not feel overcrowded or have any issues with noise, etc. The building itself is an interesting shape with a lot of large hallways jutting out in various directions, seemingly constructed by shipping container-type vessels. That made for a lot of privacy at the ends of the halls, which we were at. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a drink from the on-site bar, and we did not eat dinner there. However, we had breakfast, and it was okay. This part was a bit crowded, so I’d recommend getting there early. There are various amenities, including a northern lights tunnel and hot tub. Overall, while it was nothing exceptionally special, it was perfect for what we needed, so 5 stars!

Spent one night at the Stracta while touring the South Coast. While I didn't expect luxury in this location, the room and bathroom were very small for two people traveling with full-size suitcases. The windows didn't offer any view (facing another row of rooms), which made it feel smaller.|The food was decent (considering the location), but offered the fewest choices of any location on our trip, and they didn't seem to hide that it was mass-produced in the presentation.

I recently stayed at the Stracta Hotel in Hella Iceland with family, and wanted to post a quick review here. I stayed in one of their superior designated rooms with a double bed. The room was spacious and clean with a modern updated bathroom. The room also had a good sized open closet for my clothes and included some extra pillows and blankets. The price of the room included a breakfast in the morning, which consisted of a fair amount of different varieties of food outside the standard fare of cereals and breads. The hotel also features an on site bistro located on the main floor of the hotel. We had lunch there one day and the food was surprisingly good! All in all, for the amount we paid for the room, I thought it was a good experience and great value (for Iceland). Both the hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you ever find yourself in Hella Iceland in the future.

Room key didn’t work, so on freezing cold evening had to go back to reception, they couldn’t get it to work so had to give actual key to access Superior Apt (not my idea of superior) cardboard cups, no teaspoons. Worst quilt cover ever experienced which was crinkly and hard. Hot tub ok but had to walk around own apartment outside to get in, robes were so small, our son who is 6ft tall and slim, couldn’t fit any of them. Went for dinner but had to wait 1 hour for 3 burgers and then the fries weren’t very warm, breakfast area looked carnage with dirty dishes all over the place, felt sorry for the two ladies trying to clean up after the many guests. Obviously the slow service at dinner and state of the breakfast room can only imagine must be very short staffed. Wouldn’t stay here again.
