This was our first visit to Iceland with Sarga holidays, we stopped in this beautiful hotel which had a warm and welcoming atmosphere everything was comfortable with plenty of facilities and lovely food if a little pricey which is to be expected in Iceland. Staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. We were given a call at 2.15am as requested to see the Northern Lights which we were grateful for. Our room was small however cosy and very warm and clean, mattress and pillows were perfect for me personally. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

I recently stayed at the Stracta Hotel in Hella Iceland with family, and wanted to post a quick review here. I stayed in one of their superior designated rooms with a double bed. The room was spacious and clean with a modern updated bathroom. The room also had a good sized open closet for my clothes and included some extra pillows and blankets. The price of the room included a breakfast in the morning, which consisted of a fair amount of different varieties of food outside the standard fare of cereals and breads. The hotel also features an on site bistro located on the main floor of the hotel. We had lunch there one day and the food was surprisingly good! All in all, for the amount we paid for the room, I thought it was a good experience and great value (for Iceland). Both the hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you ever find yourself in Hella Iceland in the future.

Nice enough and convenient to the ferry for Westman Islands (30 minutes drive away). Our adult kids got their own apartment with their own jacuzzi. The parents were in a unit near a door that banged when people went through it. Our sheets had holes in it but the unit was clean and the breakfast buffet was nice, nothing special. However, I will always feel this was a great place because we saw the aurora even on a partially cloudy night! In early September that should not have happened!

Spent one night at the Stracta while touring the South Coast. While I didn't expect luxury in this location, the room and bathroom were very small for two people traveling with full-size suitcases. The windows didn't offer any view (facing another row of rooms), which made it feel smaller.|The food was decent (considering the location), but offered the fewest choices of any location on our trip, and they didn't seem to hide that it was mass-produced in the presentation.

Nice place to stay for a couple of days. Reception was great and very efficient. Food is good. About rooms, they are nice but no AC then a little warm. Shower is a mess, should improve it.

This place is completely overpriced. It is not scandi cool. It is scandi sell out to tour buses full of Americans and Chinese. There is no fresh milk and no china cups in the room. The rooms are small, built cheaply in prefab sheds with dirty mouldy showers and not connected to the main building, despite the freezing weather in Iceland. I would not recommend it or go back myself.

Hotel in a small town with basically nothing nearby but a good location between the golden circle and the southern coast right on the ring road. The hotel is basic, not lots of stuff in the room. The restaurant is just ok, nothing great but there aren't a lot of choices nearby. However, breakfast had a good assortment of items, not too much hot foods though. Cost is in line with the rest of Iceland (meaning expensive, think double the cost of the US) for both the hotel and the restaurant. Didn't try using the sauna, others claim they saw some Northern Lights (didn't stay up for it).

Food was great and our room was clean and modern. Front desk could be friendlier. For 2 nights when we were there, every time we pass the front, none one of them looked us in the eye or heard them say "hi." We're not asking for a red carpet treatment but not acknowledging guests IS in fact impersonal which is fine if you do not work in the hospitality industry. ||Otherwise, the restaurant on the second floor and the guy who helped with minor plumbing issues were the most welcoming we've encountered in this hotel. I don't know about you, but I would like to feel welcomed where we're staying and paid for. So the front desk crew really left a bad taste in my mouth.||Location was great and actually met some locals in the grocery store which should work for Stracta Hotel front desk cos the locals sure were more approachable and way friendlier!
