Pros:|Comfortable beds|Parking available||Cons:|Check in/out staff were abysmal ! Sooo unfriendly.|Reception hours and ridiculous given the size of the property|Mostly motel style rooms made to look pretty|No direction signs about room locations|Generally unkept|Breakfast is served at the wharf area restaurant-horrendously expensive, horrible food. Its was supposed to open at 7 and no one even arrived until 7.30am which means its touch and go if you are going on the Gordon River Cruise||Synopsis: |NRMA should close this place and give it a complete overhaul! Its shameful to say the least.||Would I stay here again?|NEVER !

We enjoyed our brief stay here. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful and accommodated our late check in. Parking was straightforward. The room was spacious and well appointed. We had breakfast the next day and enjoyed it - good choice & quality. The hotel is very well located for Strahan. The room was slightly noisy at night, but would generally recommend this as a place to stay in Strahan.

Our accommodation was very nice; although I think there are different levels/grades? Great bathroom and a fireplace (electric) in the bedroom, plus 2 TVs (one in front of the fireplace). Situated right in town. Only warning - reception is separate to rooms; ours was right up the top of the hill. They’re all accessed via road or steps - lots of steps. All in all , it was very comfortable and very smart well equipped rooms. The cruise with World Heritage Cruises (red boat) was excellent, very informative and most interesting.

We loved this place and couldn’t fault it, although we did have a moments concern when passing cabin like accommodation on the property while arriving at our own. It seemed deserted and we breathed a sigh of relief that we were not staying there! ||Our room had a spectacular view of the harbour with plenty of room to relax in with comfortable King-sized bed and roomy table as well as a couch and two TVs and a balcony to sit on to admire the view! Bathroom was modern and well heated. The room was very definitely short of any item which would assist in providing food rather than eating out ie: no toaster, no microwave, no plates or knives and forks. Just tea and coffee making facilities and a welcome chocolate chip cookie each. There is limited places in town to eat and we were strongly urged to eat at “Hamers” which might have been associated with the managers of the Village (such was the pressure to book and eat there). The venue had a large guest lounge and restaurant with bar support, however, the restaurant was not operating in the Winter. The lounge was a welcome touch for guests to get to know each other. All in all, a wonderful, convivial stay and well priced.

A funny place. Just a village seemingly owned by the one group - the NRMA. So members - seek a discount.||We had 2 rooms perched high on the hill - both very nice. But the rooms lacked the basics - ie plates and cutlery. No microwave. Small fridge with a door that opened the wrong way. Perhaps the best thing was a young female named Micaela. She gave us some top tips and advice - always with a smile and happy face. Shower was ok but again - a silly set-up. Rainmaker on the roof with a half glass door - so water went everywhere. WHY do they do this ?||No daily service or fresh towels - "to help the environment" they said. What BS. It saves them money - pure and simple. This nonsense about saving the environment hurts real attempts to do it. We could have the electric fire blasting out - aircon on - bathroom heater and lights on - all room lights on etc etc - BUT "no fresh towel or room service" saves the environment. Restaurant was good - lovely views. Parking is in the open.||It is a VERY steep walk (stairs and ramp) to the village/shops so unless you really like walking you must use the car. Views are magnificent and parking easy. Rooms well spread out so get ready to walk. No coffee machine. Wifi - but unsecured. I never understand this. There did not appear to be porters. Rooms warm and safe. 2 BIG TVs which we didn't actually use. A little thought - at little cost - could really work wonders.||Electric "fire" was excellent. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom a good size. Awesome views.

Spacious room with full kitchen. Lovely view from ground floor on hill. Clean enough but tired and bit musty. Taps dripping, no heating in bedroom, no curtains in children’s bathroom. Stayed in Apartments.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, water hot and good pressure, but the building and grounds need attention, we were allocated a room at the rear of the complex, and it lacked the pretty historic look shown in the online adverts. It feels like the staff are tied or defeated, no smiles to welcome weary travellers, just going through the motion. Maybe it is because it is end of season, but if you are open, well the show must go on. Value for money, I am sure for a two or three star venue, but four star experience, no not really. It left us a bit neh....

We had a stunning room overlooking the water and completely loved our accommodation. The balcony was an added touch and lovely to sit and drink a hot chocolate and watch a few animals pass by. The restaurant was closed so we ate at nearby venues at the lower level. Good car park and excellent staff.

Yelp
Over all really enjoyed our stay here. When we originally arrived to our hotel, we found that the hot water wasn't working. Reception was informed and immediately we were update at no extra cost and had serval drinks paid for at View 42. Extremely happy with the customer service. The downside: We went to the local pub for a beer before dinner, the waitress didn't seem to be interested in accommodating you unless you were "local" she was off putting and there was very much a homophobic vibe happening. Needless to say we left and went to View 42 which I would highly recommend as well and the train trip. Overall a enjoyable 2 days.
