Strahan Village

We were a little disappointed when we got to Strahan village as our room was a little tired but it was comfortable. We didn’t realise that there’s a shortcut through the bar and restaurant to get down to the front. There’s not a great selection of eateries and bars, but it’s fine if you’re there for a night or two. However we walked round to the train station and had a delicious breakfast there, and later in the day we did the Heritage cruise which included a very nice dinner. There is also a very good IGA up the road.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. Executive Spa Suite overlooking the harbour. Only 4 star thing about this room was the view. Room itself was old and outdated. Sofa had a timber board under the cushions. Probably so it wouldn't sink when you sat in it. No way I was sitting in it anyway. Looked gross. Dust was thick on the timber bed head and over the bed lights. These rooms desperately need an upgrade. The green carpet and orange furniture looks disgusting. In fact, the whole place needs a good paint job. Kids stayed in a standard room. At least their room had been upgraded in the last few years. The outside of the village looks decrepit. Don't know where everyone else stayed who gave this place 5 stars but this was not a 5 star experience 😏

A great place to stay in Strahan for the location and comfortable room. We had an upstairs apartment (accessible via a lift) and the room itself was clean and comfy - bonus for natural shower/bath products. It was a little walk downhill and stairs to access the town and coming back up was a little tougher (but you can always drive down if you need). The view though made it amazing (we had the most spectacular sunset). The balcony would be better if they were a little more private especially when you cop foul-mouthed neighbours (not the hotels fault). You can also hear them stomping around in their room. Overall, a lovely place to stay and I'd recommend it to anyone stopping in Strahan.

Our trip to Strahan is so worth it because of Strahan Village. Beautiful. Classy. Superb standards. We had a lovely time. Great staff, amazing room and so clean and organised and wonderful facilities. We shall come back and highly recommended.

Stayed for a night after a long trip from Hobart. Check in was very smooth and pleasant. Loved the set up of the place - units, restaurant, bar, views, access to Strahan waterfront & more restaurants etc. Our room was clean and I appreciated the little touch of the heater on in our room before arrival (it was a cold day). On the downside the mattress was a little spongy and uncomfortable, the pillows not great and the fridge too cold and froze some of our food and milk. Just telling it how it was.

Small but good. Fit with what you paid for. Location is kinda funny, the water front is great, but the rest is up the hill. Quite close to walk, but don't expect the waterfront one if you dont go the upper price. Service was good.

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage on the waterfront. It was spacious and well laid with plenty of room for the four of us. The heating was excellent and the bathroom was large. It was a bit annoying that the only mirror in the cottage was in the bathroom as we were a party of 4 girls. The windows in the bedrooms looked directly out on to the car park which did detract somewhat from a privacy perspective. |The value for money was very good and the location is convenient for taking a trip out on the Gordon River.

Loved it here in Strahan. We didn't want to leave. When I booked our room I wasn't aware we were given an upstairs room (No lift available). I have recently had a knee replacement so I am unavailable to climb stairs. The check in lady at reception managed to move us into a downstairs room even though they were fully booked

Over all really enjoyed our stay here. When we originally arrived to our hotel, we found that the hot water wasn't working. Reception was informed and immediately we were update at no extra cost and had serval drinks paid for at View 42. Extremely happy with the customer service. The downside: We went to the local pub for a beer before dinner, the waitress didn't seem to be interested in accommodating you unless you were "local" she was off putting and there was very much a homophobic vibe happening. Needless to say we left and went to View 42 which I would highly recommend as well and the train trip. Overall a enjoyable 2 days.
