Google
The restaurant has such a nice atmosphere and interior - very scandi style, I think it’s probably better for a lunch rather than a dinner. The service was great and the food was fantastic. We ordered the ceviche, tuna burger and lobster roll - all were amazing but the tuna burger was the standout. Pretty reasonable prices (by Nantucket standards) as well

Google
What a disappointment. From the hostess that was annoyed that we popped in 10 mins prior to our reservation time (we had no problem waiting- Just wanted to let her know we could be seated earlier if that was better for them!), to the waitress that was annoyed that we asked if they carried a certain gin, the staff was all downright miserable. The food menu is overwrought. I made the mistake of ordering the honeynut tartine and what came was a great glopping mess of 15 different elements, none of which went nicely together. The swordfish was so dry I could barely swallow it. The prime-rib was… fine. The only thing that saved our evening was the nice bottle of wine we ordered and the lovely autumn weather.

Gabriel and his team are top notch. We had a wonderful time last evening. Atmosphere is charming, light music in the background ranging in the timeless classics. Our server was attentive and very polite. The food was amazing. A wonderful evening for my wife and I.

Google
Straight Wharf is the best restaurant in Nantucket! Every dish here is amazing! The clam bake and the scallops are pure perfection! The atmosphere here is great and the service was impeccable! You must go to Straight Wharf Restaurant while on the island.

Google
This place is a must. Got there a bit early and started at the bar, then had our dinner in the main dining room. The vibe at the bar is different, quite lively and energetic but loved it. Got some great cocktails and the martini with blue cheese. The dining room itself was very refined, loved the decor and candlelit dinner table. The prix fixe menu was very reasonable and beyond worth it. The stars of the evening were the tuna (served rare) and the scallops— the clam bake was also great and had generous portions of lobster Also had the watermelon panna gotta and it was great. Highly recommend

Google
Food was great, service was outstanding. (Skip the ribeye though, average, stick with seafood.) It's also fabulously expensive of course, but that's not a flaw, it's your choice. We very much enjoyed our dinner here.

Google
Our best dining experience on Nantucket for the 2023 season. All courses skilfully prepared and beautifully presented. The table service was outstanding. Intuitively attentive, discreet, elevated the excellent cuisine. We highly recommend dinner at Straight Wharf for its polished sophistication.

Google
One of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Save room for dessert!

Yelp
This wasn't my favorite even though the service was fabulous and the ambiance (we sat on the porch) was lovely. The food I thought was just ok - some standouts (even though their menu is pretty seasonal) the oyster app, the seafood pasta app and their house made blue fish dip.

Corkie B.

Yelp
Very romantic vibes both in the restaurant and out on the patio. Candlelight and cozy. Had it not been cloudy we would have had one hell of a view from the patio. The servers and staff were hard working and attentive. Our server made recommendations was knowledgeable and added value to our experience ( I would shout them out but can't recall their name.) It is a two course pre-fix. My husband doesn't eat seafood so there was less for him to choose from, but still options for chicken and steak. His steak wasn't the medium rare he ordered but not worth it to send back in. We tried two desserts, one was the carrot cake which was not an actual carrot cake. It wasn't my favorite, the other I don't remember a month later. All in all an enjoyable meal for a special occasion.

Yelp
Day trip from Provincetown, MA -- jumped the Hy-Line ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket and steps off the boat stumbled into this GEM. Bounty of seafood and fresh fish and sandwiches--- we had the lobster roll and fried fish sandwich. With onion rings and fries -- light, crisp -- fresh -- complements with the Peyrassol rosé. Staff and service were friendly and wonderful! Will be back and highly recommend!

Yelp
So glad my sister and I decided to dine here during our recent visit to Nantucket! We were wandering around town at dinner time and thought the outdoor seating area looked cute, so we grabbed a table and enjoyed the beautiful evening outside. I love mango, so I went with the It Takes Two to Mango cocktail ($20). This cocktail with a kick includes ghost tequila, Chinola Mango, Casamigos jalapeno, Cointreau, tajin and lime. It was both tasty and pretty! I'm glad it wasn't any spicer, but if you enjoy a "medium" level of spice this cocktail is for you. They don't have a vegan entree, so I asked our server if the chef could whip something up. The answer was yes! I ended up enjoying a beautiful (and flavorful) cauliflower steak. I normally don't get super excited about cauliflower steaks, as they usually aren't cooked long enough, but this one was perfect. Thank you! My sister ordered the salmon and seemed to enjoy her dish too. We had a side of bread (a modest portion), and asked for a refill at the end of dinner to round out the meal. Service was pretty good, no complaints there. Prices were as expected for Nantucket. I'd happily come back if I ever visit again!

Yelp
We had dinner for 8 in celebration of my father's 93rd birthday tonight. I spent over $1,800 for it. The restaurant did some things reasonably well and unfortunately did some things very, very poorly. My parents arrived shortly before us, 5 minutes before the restaurant officially opened at 5:30. The hostess asked them to leave and wait outside until the restaurant officially opened. They made a 93 year old man and 81 year old woman leave the fully-staffed restaurant and wait outside until the clock officially struck 5:30. Seriously. When we were seated (at 5:31, to be precise) we had a table jammed in a corner of the restaurant. That was fine. But the table was backed up to a large free-standing air conditioning unit that had a fan perched on top of it. It was 6 inches from the back of our chairs. The AC unit and fan blew very loud and freezing cold at our backs. When I asked the hostess for another table, she said we could manually turn the unit off if we wanted. She said they had nothing else to offer us, got annoyed, and then said she was leaving the wine and cocktail menus at the table and just walked away as we all stood there waiting for either a hand or another option. We spent the rest of the meal alternating between getting blasted by a large AC unit essentially sitting at our table, or manually turning it off and being very hot (even though it was only 70 degrees outside). It was just a poor and inhospitable experience for a restaurant that bills itself as classy. The restaurant was not a total bust. It is beautiful in some respects. Very classic looking and pretty overall, if you are not sitting where we were. The food is fairly good -- not great by any means, but good enough to make a nice experience. The wine list is thoughtfully done and has lots of great stuff. As someone who appreciates wine (and ordered expensive wine to celebrate my Dad even though I was seriously annoyed at the restaurant), I liked that. But ultimately, the restaurant did not treat us with warmth, hospitality or grace. And that is a fundamental failure. We won't be back.

Yelp
Food service ambience outstanding highly recommend. I'd say best restaurant in Nantucket

Gray S.

Yelp
It's always amazing at Straight Wharf. The food, the service and the wine list all always A+++

Marcie G.

Yelp
Very unique dishes and delicious flavors. I enjoyed the clam bake and steak with roasted peaches and cherries. The service was great and the place was a little dim and too warm. Unfortunately, we were in the corner and no fan support. It was a warm night and the air stagnant. My friend enjoyed the famous dessert, he loved it.

Sheri W.

Yelp
We had a beautiful meal here. Presentation, flavor, service and ambiance were all excellent, and we appreciated the flexibility of their fixe prix menu where you could choose appetizer or meal portions for both starters and entrees (sometimes with supplemental pricing). We were also pleased with the gorgeous view from the back patio. We hadn't even requested outdoor seating and were delighted to see a rainbow appear during dessert. Although I have no negative comments at all, this is a case of expectation vs. reality. I expected to be over-the-moon with this special dinner, but will reluctantly admit that nothing especially stood out as very memorable. We enjoyed the food very much while we were there, but it just didn't make the lasting impression I need for 5 stars.

Shannon F.

Yelp
Great restaurant in Nantucket! Super close to the ferry but you don't feel like you are because the vibes are amazing! My group didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us in under 10 minutes outside. Super accommodating, we were a group of 7. They brought out amazing fresh bread and olive oil and the meals were great too! Definitely recommend the steak with summer corn salad, swordfish kebabs, and chicken pasta!

Dorothy A.

Yelp
Straight wharf used to be so wonderful . I have been coming here for 30 years... the ambiance is still beautiful . The food is still good but not out of this world, and the service is non existent . We had to ask multiple times for basics. I feel that because it is Nantucket everyone is so blasé - well just another dinner who cares there is another right behind this one.. it is sad.. this used to be my favorite restaurant on the island .

Rossana D.

Yelp
Dinner tonight was nice but way overpriced. My coffee was thick with grounds and when I asked for fresh, pretty sure the manager just brought back the same pot. Yuck. Our server was ok. Just ok, not what I would expect in a fine dining restaurant. Don't think we will return

Sara H.

Yelp
Our waitress, Skye, was lovely. But the food was not up to our expectations for the price of dining. There were also so many staff members milling about the dining room that we felt like we were being circled by sharks for the entire meal...

Monica N.

Yelp
Probably my fave meal in Nantucket! They have a 2 course prix fixe menu for ~$80. To start, we got the salmon crudo and the clambake. The clambake is a must order, they give so much seafood (giant lobster claw!) and it's super fresh. The salmon was also ready good, great mix of flavors. The crusted fish was actually my favorite dish of the night, it was lightly crusted and perfectly cooked. I don't normally like beans but the whole combination was a delight for my taste buds. The seared scallops were also very good, perfectly seared and gigantic. Do not skip on the dessert either - their galette is amazing!

John J.

Yelp
Our visit started rough. I had made a reservation via Open Table and requested a window table on the reservation. We arrived early to a basically empty restaurant, except for two tables, yet were going to be seated next to the bathroom. Why do some restaurants put you in a crappy table when better tables are available? We politely asked for the window table and they were enthusiastically nice about seating us there. Just not sure why we had to ask (we also asked if we could sit on the patio, as it was basically empty and were told no, that they had reservations already - but I doubt that was the case when table sat empty during our time dining). After cocktails (reasonably priced and delicious), we started with the two course fixed price menu. I started with beef tartare. It was very good. My wife started with the soup and it was delicious!!! For dinner, my wife had the spiced Halibut and I had the Salmon. Unfortunately, the Halibut was just too salty. The fish itself was very fresh and cooked perfectly tender. She enjoyed it when she cut off the spiced topping. My Salmon was probably the best tasting Salmon dish I had ever had - anywhere. When asked how our meal was my wife mentioned the fish was just too salty for her, but she worked around it. They could not have been nicer and more apologetic. They immediately took the fish off the bill. The manager also came by. I have not seen a restaurant handle and issue so well and put the customer first. They certainly earned our loyalty and we will be back next time in Nantucket.

Yelp
Love this place. My favorite restaurant in the island. Gabriel Frasca is really really good. Everything is freshly served (hot when it's supposed to be hot). Flavors are subtle and savory. Service is great and has improved over the years. Ambiance is fun and there's generally plenty of room. Great wine list.

Neil P.

Yelp
Food. We've been here many many times mostly to BAR MENU which is almost always great and overall not that expensive all said and done- Cheese Plate with awesome red wine crackers, fruit, some amazing jam, figs (in season) honey comb (not the cereal) and some magic warm fluffy bread- Smoked Bluefish Pate, Taquitos, Crostini, Big Salads, Always great Chicken, Beef, Seafood or Fish and Vegetarian Entree offerings. Great Cocktails- Goombay Smash is their signature rum fruity drink- gotta have at least one if you're into that kind of thing. Approachable wine list not crazy expensive ( in the bar that is) super casual, in or outside seating on Straight Wharf lots of activity- near the water can actually see boats and people coming off the Ferry woohoo! Friendly if not often exhausted service but they get the job done. Quite busy almost always but controlled chaos (to some degree) I would say the Bar is is must do. Main Dining room. Big Beautiful room- high ceilings, open windows- it's a summer place- always has been. Definitely more expensive than the Bar but generally always great- Pro staff who usually know all about the menu. Straight Wharf is not playing around- it seems that most of the staff really enjoys working there. Just Go!

Yelp
***HEADS UP***This restaurant has a 2 course prix fixed menu, and does little to nothing to accommodate children. All that I can say to anyone considering to visit this restaurant ***READ THE FINE PRINT***. Booking your reservation through their online reservation system requires a credit card. This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip that my family was taking to celebrate a 70th birthday. Being new to the island, with two kids we booked this reservation online before our arrival. The night before our reservation, we received a text mentioning the 2 course menu. I tried to call the restaurant immediately that morning to discuss our options/express my concerns. They do not open until 5:30 pm so my only option was to simply cancel my reservation that morning online. Never heard from the restaurant until 11 DAYS AFTER our trip hitting us with a $350 bill for the late cancellation via an email. When I explained our reasoning, I was emailed links with 'fine text' outlining their policy. Not willing to work with me, or meet halfway given our situation. To make matters worse, it was all via email before business hours so that I cannot call the restaurant to discuss directly to the person. Very disappointed that 11 days after our trip to Nantucket this was the sour taste that has been left in our mouths. What happened to the customer coming first? What happened to communicating with a customer directly rather than through a computer screen. Terribly disappointed. Beware before you book. Not to mention the 'tone' of their emails extremely rude and condescending.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated rite away , service was great food was great and reasonably priced . It's a must visit if your in the area

Val H.

Yelp
Great dinner. Nice table. Wonderful service. Make sure you get your reservation ahead of time.

Bridget M.

Yelp
Great views of the harbor, wonderful service, enjoyable company and an outdoor patio that extends to the sidewalk to provide extra table space during COVID times. First meal out on the island and everything was made to perfection. I ordered the salmon crudo to start and the local dayboat scallops as my main entree. Clean plate club all the way!

Kristina S.

Yelp
This ended up being our favorite meal on the island on our recent trip to Nantucket. The expanded COVID-era outdoor seating allows for some amazing views of the harbor from the dock. Prix fixe menu - two courses for $75. We started with the salmon crudo and nectarine panzanella (huge) - both were delicious and beautifully plated. Second course we did the ribeye and the scallops which both hit the mark. Closed out with the peach and blueberry galette which came recommended - amazing with the ginger ice cream. Pretty extensive wine list and great cocktails. A+, an amazing night!

Sean B.

Yelp
Enjoyed a quality evening: nice atmosphere, good service. Value is decent. Would return and recommend!

David L.

Yelp
TLDR: great restaurant with views of the harbour. Atmosphere: I've been here twice now, each time the food has been great. This time I tried their pasta dish and the pasta was so fresh and the texture was melt in your mouth. Pro tip: they have a wonderful sommelier that has curated a great wine list. Take advantage of that and ask your waiter for pairings for your entree.

Shelby B.

Yelp
Always an exceptional meal and one of our top faves in Nantucket . I must say though that service can be spotty and definitely is on the slower side and we had to ask multiple times for a wine chiller. Also, the chef is adamant about keeping things the way they are so if you have any food intolerances know that no Accomodations or alterations will be made. I have a couple clients with gut issues and allergies that unfortunately can't dine here because they just are not accommodating and won't make any exceptions. They stick to the menu, so don't plan to ask for anything to be altered.

Saran R.

Yelp
Straight Wharf is without a doubt the best restaurant on the island. Dining here is an experience and I love it every time. The galette is heavenly and I cannot recommend it enough.

Christopher A.

Yelp
I've been out to dinner several times since the pandemic broke and its been hard to find a really great dining experience -- it just seems that so many restaurants are struggling to put together the whole experience...but they are still charging full prices, which is hard for me to balance. Straight Wharf (again) seems to do it all, and they make it look effortless. Good drinks, friendly service, exceptional meal with fresh ingredients. Everything perfect. The food was just incredible. It was nice to be reminded what a great night out is all about.

Lori B.

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars, I would! The food is inventive and delicious. Take the watermelon gaspacho as an example: it has pistachio nuts and feta cheese along with fresh chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon and basil. It was delicious. I also had the scallops, which were good. We should have ordered two or three of the berry galettes for dessert, as we shared one for the table and really, everyone wanted more after it was finished.

M R.

Yelp
Consistently the best restaurant on Nantucket. Highly recommend the lobster bake, which is a twist on a traditional dish. Great wine list, great service. Double check your bill as addition errors have been known to happen on their hand done checks.

Roby N.

Yelp
My favorite place to dine in the ACK! Reservations are strongly recommended by the establishment, but I would not go without one. I have friends that were told they needed to make their reservation one month in advance during peak season, and they were unfortunately turned away. You can choose to dine inside or you can enjoy your meal al fresco. I recommend the latter, as the views are absolutely spectacular. It is so amazing to bask in the ambiance of Nantucket, and take in the stunning view of the harbor in all its glory. The beautiful environment truly enhances your dining experience. We were seated by a friendly young lady, who suited her position perfectly, with a welcoming demeanor and a big smile. Our waiter was excellent. He brought out our water, customary fresh baked bread and bluefish pate almost immediately. Their bread is so delicious and is like a meal unto itself. The pate is not fishy at all. Absolutely delicious! They have an extensive wine menu, and there is a sommelier at the ready. The cocktails are made perfectly, and they are willing to create any drink you request. Seafood is the main draw here, but the chicken under a brick is fabulous as well. The steak is served on a bed of greens and is also quite good. The fish is fresh and caught locally, as per our knowledgeable waiter. The dessert menu has an ample selection, and the end of your meal will be just as lovely as the start. The bartender was very personable and highly accommodating. He made us laugh and he definitely enhanced the overall experience. The restroom was spotless, and well stocked with handsoap as well as paper goods. Be prepared to wait a few minutes to get a drink or in between courses, especially during peak season. Be patient, and rest assured the staff are doing their absolute best. Good things come to those who wait, and the wait is not exorbitant. Overall, this is a great place to go for a nice meal with an excellent welcoming atmosphere. Great to visit if you're traveling by boat. We had an outstanding time, and we will return!

Sue C.

Yelp
We were here for dinner on 7/29/20. We have eaten here before and always had a nice meal. This year there is a price fix menu at $75 a person for 2 courses. The food was decent but the seating arrangements suck. Unless you are one of the 5 tables out in the porch, you could end up out in the courtyard with people walking around and passing through. It's rest not a nice atmosphere and especially for a price of $75 a person. I would not recommend this restaurant at this time!!!!! We did have a very nice, pleasant and good waiter though.

Gabrielle M.

Yelp
The best restaurant on the island, hands down. It's always my first choice for dinner, and I've eaten here at least two dozen times. Every meal has been excellent. The bar has become somewhat of a "scene" in recent years, so you can expect a younger/rowdy crowd there as the night progresses. Their dirty martinis are excellent. From the bartenders, to the hostesses, the managers, servers, and the owner himself, the service is outstanding. Everyone really goes out of their way to make your dining experience special. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance, as Straight Wharf is fully booked pretty much every night in season. The food is exceptional. In my humble opinion, the two standout items on the dinner menu are the chicken-under-a-brick and the lobster/clam bake. I've actually had borderline-inappropriate dreams about the clam bake, which is definitely big enough to share (if you get appetizers too, of course). It consists of freshly-caught New England clams and lobster, with delicious potatoes and spicy chorizo. Oh my God it is so delicious. I'm not usually inclined to order chicken at restaurants, but Straight Wharf does it right. The meat is so juicy and the flavors are incredible (also large enough to share). The steak is excellent as well. Each meal begins with freshly-baked warm bread, as well as house-made bluefish pate with crispy crackers. You could fill up on that alone! The oysters are always fresh and are topped with a meyer lemon granita that is very unique and certainly keeps me coming back for more. The baby greens/lettuce salad is also an excellent choice for a starter, and is HUGE. The greens are all locally grown and the dressing is incredibly well-made and flavorful. I usually skip dessert and just head to Juice Bar for ice cream afterward, so I can't really speak to those items. I can't wait to go back in two weeks!

Yelp
I have very mixed feelings about Straight Wharf. Overall, our experience at Straight Wharf was above and beyond (explained below), and it made me a changed women. .What bothered me about our dining was a phone call I received from the manager prior to our arrival. Because our experience at the restaurant was spectacular, I am not going to let this affect their rating, or go into details, but I will comment that their manager was rude, and out of line and extremely unprofessional in dealing with our reservation, for such a restaurant that otherwise exuberates with class, fine dining, and sophistication. Dining here makes you feel more sophisticated, elegant, and prestigious than before you walked in. Something about it rubs off on your attitude and self esteem, it's perhaps therapeutic. We were seated at the best table, had the most personable, friendly and funny waitress, and the food was flavorful, fresh, and very impressive. The view is by far, the best in downtown Nantucket, with the porch opening right up to a dock, overlooking quaint shops on a wharf. However, it still feels private and intimate. We were seated on the water, right in the center. It could not be more perfect. The inside is airy and light, but screams an elegant, sophisticated nautical. It fills you with a romantic and intimate warmth, making you appreciate those you are there with a little more. We went a little avant garde and didn't get a bottle of wine, Gster wanted his cocktail, but they do have a sommelier on staff. The bread was 10/5, extraordinary. They brought a variety of bread, some that were cracker like with a fresh, flavorful but light bluefish dip (it did not tasted like fish!). Gster had many questions on the menu which the waitress was extremely helpful, knowledgable and patient. I ordered the swordfish special, which came in a pesto sauce (I'll admit, I'm addicted), and Greg ordered the brick chicken. The presentation was spectacular, stunning, and a true form of art, it was almost too hard to eat, but then the flavors were even better than the sight. The chef did a phenomenal job pairing the sides and combining flavors. My favorite part, is that everything is fresh. The flavors are truly a once in a life time experience. With the exception of our experience with the manager, Straight Wharf is your definition of elegance, sophistication, and fine dining. Your tastebuds will be stimulated, curious, and overwhelmed with sensational, unique flavors and tastes. You will experience one of the best views in Nantucket, and you will certainly leave happy, satiated, and feeling somewhat classier than when you walked in.

Mary I.

Yelp
I came for lunch the other day and split a salad and fish tacos with my mom. Both items were really good. I loved the salad, it was huge. The fish tacos weren't too fried or bready and the beans were really tasty. The place itself was very cute, we sat outside and it was nice. But service was really slow which is why the rating is 4 instead of 5. We waited too long for everything which was unfortunate because it was perfect otherwise. I will say that everyone was kind though.

Maddie M.

Yelp
Able to squeeze us in the night I called. An eclectic menu but still simple. We had a romantic table outside on the water and even in the pouring rain it was still lovely. Highly recommend the Nashville Hot Monkfish. Good place for a date night

Sandy B.

Yelp
Excellent. 5 stars all the way for creative, delicious food and amazing service. Our server (wish I remembered her name) was an absolute charmer and offered spot on suggestions. My only regret is we didn't specify outdoor dining. We were seated in the dining room next to an open window with a harbor view. The covered porch space looked dreamy. This was our best meal on Nantucket and a highlight of the summer. Pricey but worth it! Highly recommended.

Christine M.

Yelp
Lovely spot right on the Wharf. Great views. Food was excellent. Service was uninspired but basically attentive. Definitely will go again next trip here!

Elise R.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal- best scallops we have ever had- in an absolutely lovely setting. Can't wait to return.

Christine M.

Yelp
Probably one of the best meals we've had on the island. Everything on the menu is thoughtfully put together. The atmosphere was amazing. Only con is that we were sweating and dying of heat inside. The doors to outside were open so we assumed no AC was on and it was definitely hot inside. We wished it wasn't so hot so we could fully enjoy our delicious food!!

Mike S.

Yelp
We have enjoyed dinners at SW for a number of years but unfortunately our latest visit had such a poor level of service we will not return. From a totally inattentive waitress who barely checked on us to failing to bring basic items requested like ice, the whole experience became a slow boil in frustration. Service was careless; bringing over a warm bottle of rose which we rejected and then replacing it with a properly chilled one only to leave it sweating on our table after pouring. We had to flag another waitress down to actually get a chiller 10 minutes later. Entrees came after a bit of a wait, the server set one plate down, then scooped it back up and walked away without comment. Perhaps they forgot some items, who knows. We were so fed up we all agreed to skip dessert (this was a birthday dinner) get the check and leave. No apology despite the obvious irritation was made. Simply put, there are too many excellent restaurants on the island at this price point to get away with such a shoddy performance. Lesson learned.

Rebecca A.

Yelp
This is by far the best meal we had on Nantucket. I am astonished that this restaurant doesn't have a high rating. We have eaten in Michelin star restaurants across the world and this restaurant is honestly comparable in how great the food was. Everything we ate was absolutely perfect. They served freshly bakes sourdough that was incredible as well as blue fish pate for the table. My husband had the duck liver mousse and I had the SWR clambake as our appetizers. My husband had the SWR clambake as his entree and I had the ribeye. The clambake is one of the best things I have ever eaten. It was honestly so delicious and well-balances, everything prepared to perfection. The ribeye was beautiful marbled and just melted in the mouth- one of the best bites of steak I have ever had. We shared the signature galette for dessert and it was perfectly flaky with the fruit baked to perfection. I would not return to the island without a reservation here, absolutely incredible!

Sara L.

Yelp
I was not impressed by this restaurant though it was recommended. The food was just lacking flavor. I had the salmon appetizer and it was just okay. The chicken as the main was fine but nothing crazy. The service was slow and we had to get someone else to get the check. Just a weird experience overall.

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better spots on Nantucket for a night out and the secret's out since reservations during summer aren't the easiest feat. I actually don't think it's ever been a secret since for as long as I can remember, Straight Wharf has been one of the best restaurants on island. A definite hotbed of navy blue blazers, nantucket reds, popped collars and pearls, but the food is oh so good. The location, right on the wharf is perfect along with the building itself. If you can snag an outdoor seat, do it. Inside isn't shabby, with those high beam ceilings and large windows letting light pour in (we ate at 6, early bird style). Service is stellar and the food is equally as impressive. The bread is delicious. I opted for the pasta starter which was perfectly light and the sustainable fish ( the actual fish escapes me). Not too heavy, a nice sized piece complimented with farro verde, broccoli, pickled peppers, cherry tomatoes, lemon cream; I didn't want the dish to end. The man went with the house speciality -- the clam bake: a deconstructed lobster, chorizo, clams, potatoes and corn. Although pricy, all the seafood was so fresh, very well prepared and not the least messy, which gets hard when you're eating lobster. Dessert -- don't be an idiot. That swr galette is heavenly and although shareable, it's so light and perfect, you'll want your own. It's Nantucket expensive, but if you're spending the dough, Straight Wharf is worth the patronage.

Yelp
Had dinner here Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend. Restaurant sits in the beautiful Harbor and has seating both inside and outside (deck) with water views. Ordered the salad with Italian dressing to start - dressing was light and salad was leafy. Ordered that Hake entree which the waiter said was his second favorite after the clam bake. The Hake was a white fish crusted in cornmeal and sat in a broth; the broth was salty for my palette and included fingerling potatoes and leeks. Menu said that lobster knuckles and mussels were included but 4 people at the table ordered this entree and did not receive. We the #Lou rose and it was delicious - would definitely recommend. Would still recommend this restaurant but would not be a first choice. If you eat dinner, you can skip the line to go into the bar next door afterwards. Included the May menu in pictures.

Yelp
The service was impeccable! They are only doing the prix fixed 2 course menu this season for $75. The food was good, plating of the food were elegant. We had a nice dinner, but I don't think it was worth the $75 especially it didn't even include desserts, and also some things on the menu were additional 15$ supplemental. By the time you get a cocktail and dessert/ coffee it's more like $125 pp.

Yelp
Restaurant was good, but not necessarily a standout meal. We started with the clam bake and salad below. The clam bake was very different, and not what I expected. Good, but just know it's not a traditional clam bake. The salad is so underrated though! It was so fresh and delicious. For entrees, we got the chicken under a brick. I was really excited for it and thought it was good, but wish I got seafood instead. Overall good solid meal.

Yelp
This seemed like a great place, until they refused service because of my non-Massachusetts ID. They didn't even give us a chance, just kicked us out without a word and being super rude the entire time. Two thumbs DOWN! UPDATE: After this incident I was contacted personally by a manager over Facebook. He was extremely professional and helpful, offering both apologies and a fair explanation of what happened. I'm looking forward to going back to try again.

Yelp
Let me just start by saying I wish I could give this establishment ZERO STARS. The bouncers they hire are 18 year old entitled little dinks who let their friends, or girls that they find attractive into the bar first. I was waiting in line last night behind a group of girls, and they let the biggest Chad I've ever seen in my life just cut the whole line. Funny thing is the bouncer did not care at all, the line was held up for about 20 minutes due to the bouncer making conversation with the group of girls. There was a good amount of people behind me also fed up to the point where they just left before getting in, I will NEVER give this place business again. Oh and I forgot to mention that this bar absolutely scams you by having a 20$ minimum for drinks. Absolutely pathetic excuse of a bar, and the crowd is the worst on island. Hire some people who actually do their damn job!

Yelp
Great service by the whole team! All food was delicious from start to finish!! Drinks were pricey and just ok. We would definitely return for the service and food.
