Stranahan's Whiskey Distillery & Cocktail Bar

Went for a tour and tasting. This is a really neat place. Our host, Michael, was an interesting speaker and had lots of knowledge. The whiskeys were very good, we bought several bottles. Highly recommend and will come here again.

This place is absolutely amazing. The tour is so worth it and Frances was the very best, much better than Wally. 10/10 recommend a tour with Frances, she made it so fun and engaging. Plus! Delicious whiskey!

The distillery tour was excellent and well worth the price of admission. We were able to try pours of four of their offerings and got to keep the tasting glass. I ended up purchasing bottles of my two favorites - Mountain Angel 10 Year and the Sherry Cask Finish. Cheers!

Came here for the first time yesterday with our son who is home from the Army for the 2025 holiday season. The tour was exceptional. Frances was our tour guide and she was lovely. Honestly we had no idea there was so much to a distillery. We loved the tour, the gift shop, and the cocktail lounge. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Without doubt, our crew will be back for the 2026 Snowflake Event! Thank you Frances and Stranahan's for being Colorado/Rocky Mountain true and keep up the incredible work over there on Kalamath!

Our guide Ryan was not only knowledgeable about the entire whiskey-making process, from grain to glass, but also infused the presentation with genuine enthusiasm and humor. You get an up-close look at the stills, the barrel-aging warehouses (and the incredible aroma that comes with them!), and truly understand what makes Stranahan's distinct. They clearly take immense pride in their American Single Malt, and it shows in every detail. And then, of course, there's the tasting. The opportunity to sample their range of expressions, including some that are not readily available elsewhere, was a real treat. Each pour was a testament to their dedication to quality, offering nuanced flavors and a smoothness that even a seasoned whiskey drinker can appreciate. Beyond the whiskey, the atmosphere of the distillery is fantastic. It's a welcoming and well-designed space that invites you to linger. The gift shop offers a great selection of spirits and branded merchandise, perfect for taking a piece of the experience home. Also, they have a whiskey lounge so you can have a drink after the tour! Very interesting tasting tour! Liz definitely knew her stuff!! It was great to learn so much about whiskey distillation.

Tour is free every Sunday for Colorado residents so that's great. The tour is really more about how is Whiskey made and the distinction with American Single Malt - if you already know that, you won't know anything new as it's pretty basic - can't complain as it was free and tasting was included! Their whiskey is very strong, 90 to 120 proof from what I recall, not my cup of tea.
