Love Stranahans spirits and have enjoyed a number of visits to the Denver location. But the Aspen location is just an exceptional experience! The location right in the center of downtown Aspen was great. Enjoyed our outdoor seating with a full view of everything "Aspen" walking by. And a great view of the mountain. Had a meat and cheese board which was excellent. The drinks were great, particularly a nice tasting of 4 excellent whiskeys that was priced very reasonably, considering the Aspen location. And it gets you a taste of Snowflake, the best that Stranahans makes!

Stranahan's Aspen is simply one of the best new experiences in Aspen! My wife and I were there just last week as well as this past February, and part of a group that attended the soft open two ski seasons ago. My son is a whiskey aficionado and was so excited he dragged us non-whiskey drinkers over there; and are we glad he did! First, the atmosphere is truly old Aspen classy (I have been to Aspen every year since 1963). Second, every whiskey drink is unique and tasty! Third, the food is exceptional (the crispy fingerling potatoes, the pretzel hot pocket, the wagyu burger - all good). However, the person who makes this all work is the bartender, Curtis. His knowledge about and the preparation of all drinks is amazing. You sense that he is in total control of the experience minutes after you walk in the door and he is! Living in L.A., I know what makes restaurants succeed or fail; patrons may love the food and/or the atmosphere but if the person at the door or the waiter at the table or the manager of the operation is sour or snooty or disinterested or lazy, they won't come back; and they won't recommend it to their friends. Curtis is the real deal. We came for the drinks but we kept coming back because of him. He's a straight up guy that we thoroughly enjoy talking to and someone typical of who you would want to build a business around. Our only recommendation during summer is to put a real character/personality like his out front on the bricks/mall area to educate people who don't drink whiskey and coax them in!

This was our first time in Aspen and we liked the look of Stranahan's so we sat out front. Boris was our server and described the Stranahan's cocktails with good stories. I had the Old Fashioned Smoky and it had real smoke! The Rocky Mountain Game & Cheese Board was delicious. He also said bears walked around the area at night. We wondered if that was true until the next night we were walking around the area and we saw a bear!

This place is awesome! Has a great atmosphere that makes you feel welcomed. Drinks and food are so good! I had the Wagyu pretzel hot pocket and potato fingerlings and it is my new favorite, paired nicely with the smoked old fashioned. Curtis was very knowledgeable and a great host! Definitely recommend coming to check this spot out.

Amazing cocktails in a beautiful location in Aspen town. Most of them are whiskey based but even if whiskey is not your go-to they have options that don’t have a strong whiskey taste. There are also some interesting food options.

Stranahan's Whiskey Lodge in Aspen offers an unforgettable experience that perfectly blends sophistication with warmth. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in the lodge's cozy, whiskey-inspired atmosphere, which sets the stage for a truly indulgent visit. The food is absolutely fantastic, with standout dishes like their gourmet take on a hot pocket, paired with their homemade whiskey mustard—an innovative twist that’s as delicious as it is memorable. And, of course, no trip to Stranahan's is complete without savoring their Aspen-exclusive whiskey. It's a testament to their dedication to craftsmanship and creates a tasting experience that feels both intimate and exclusive. The drink menu is vast and thoughtfully curated, but what really sets this place apart is the people. The staff is remarkably friendly and accommodating, making you feel like a valued guest without the slightest hint of pretension. The friendly vibe extends to the patrons as well, creating an environment that’s welcoming, laid-back, and refreshingly unstuffy—perfect for Aspen visitors looking to unwind after a day of adventure. If you appreciate finely crafted whiskey and a setting that embodies a love for detail and tradition, Stranahan's Whiskey Lodge is an absolute must-visit. It’s more than a whiskey bar—it’s a celebration of the finer things in life. Highly recommended!

Stunning space with incredible cocktails and bites. As an old fashioned connoisseur, this one does not disappoint. The Aspen Exclusive Calvados Cask is incredible as well. Some nice vegetarian options, including deviled eggs and freshly made pasta. Can't wait to go back!

Google
An incredible and much welcome addition to Aspen! The cocktails are very well crafted and unique. I’d highly recommend the espresso martini which is made with their whiskey and the barrel aged Manhattan. Don’t sleep on the food either - the pasta of day, grilled cheese with pork belly, and lamb flatbread were all amazing. Great atmosphere to spend a few hours after a day on the slopes with very friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Great welcoming atmosphere along with great cocktails to boot. I suggest the fancy Hot pocket for food, it was a surprise hit.

Yelp
fine whiskey, zero service ethic Absolutely morose atmosphere. Suggestion: perhaps one person on the wait staff should attempt to smile. i have never seen a bartender who was less welcoming. Go for the whiskey but don't expect any positive vibes.

Yelp
I was swayed to visit when I saw Stranahan's was voter #1 whiskey lounge in America by Yelp. That's a big title to earn!!!! -- and while I love me a good whiskey spot, I'm not sure it quite deserved the title? Don't get me wrong--it's a great little spot in Aspen to grab a cocktail. They have a lovely selection of whiskey-inspired cocktails and drinks. Being the Manhattan lover I am, I grabbed their house Manhattan and it was good but not the best I've ever had. I also wasn't super impressed with the service. Not that the service was bad, but usually if you visit a bar and you're the only one sitting there you'd think the bartenders would make conversation! My drink took a while and the guy next to me was sitting for nearly 10 minutes before they finally asked him what he wanted. It was not busy (a weekday around 5pm) If you're primarily a bar, I think it's just as important to have good, friendly bartenders as it is to have good drinks. All in all would probably visit again if I was in town just for the view and vibe - small indoor area with a bar, couch seating area, and a few tables, but the patio is right in the middle of the town square and you have a great view of the park and mountains. I feel there are better spots in Aspen to grab a cocktail if you're a whiskey lover -- like Hooch!

Yelp
Came here for drinks, my husband really enjoyed the whiskey drinks here, they distill their own and you can purchase bottles of their whiskey. Our waitress was very friendly and the vibes were so cozy. This place didn't seem pretentious, just a good place to cozy up and have a good whiskey cocktail or whiskey flight. We purchased a flight of whisky and all of the styles were unique and flavorful. We will be back

Yelp
A rugged, cozy, sexy bar with divine cocktails and surprisingly great food. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Aspen. This has become my favorite bar in the valley. The staff is chill and the vibe makes you want to linger with some whiskey in their big leather chairs.

Yelp
Very cute new Whiskey Bar in Aspen! They offer bar food snacks, salads and burgers with a wide range of Smokey Whiskeys. The esthetic is cozy with wood designs and is reminiscent of a snuggly cabin. The location is perfectly plotted in the middle of Aspen, minutes from hotels, stores and art galleries. So easy to walk and enjoy the entire area! Had the vegan sampler and my friend had the chicken salad. The food was ok, but the drinks were very good. I had a Smokey Mocktail, very different but I liked it! Definitely recommend for the drinks and atmosphere as an end to a charmed Aspen evening!

Yelp
Love the vibe and drinks were amaze! Strolled in before the music in the park on the 4th of July. The service was amazing, and we loved the deviled eggs and meat and cheese board! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality from the Stranahan Whiskey team. Some honorable mentions: Max (GM) for the warm welcome, Kayla (assistant GM) for explaining the Stranahan history, different bottles of whiskey, and great conversation, and finally Jesse (bartender) for the great service. The Whiskey Lodge rustic yet elegant decor, comfortable bar seating is the perfect destination for whiskey lovers. Highly recommended!

Great place to grab a bite. Food was delicious with unique spins on favorite foods. Always enjoy Strananhan's and the cocktails here did not disappoint.

Yelp
Went here a while back I have to say, I was incredibly disappointed. The atmosphere was decent, but the bar manager completely ruined the experience for us. Instead of welcoming us, he made snarky comments and seemed annoyed by our questions about the whisky selection. It felt like we were a nuisance rather than valued customers. I expected a lot more from a whisky bar, especially in terms of service. I won't be returning anytime soon.
