I’ve been getting my hair done by Kristal for a couple of years now, and she is absolutely amazing! She takes the time to perfect my highlights and color, and I always leave feeling happy and satisfied. The experience is always joyful, thanks to her warm personality. I also want to give a shout-out to Erica, who shampoos my hair beautifully and gives the best scalp massages. I genuinely look forward to my appointments with both of them. I highly recommend Kristal and Erica for anyone looking for a fantastic hair experience!

I’ve been going to Kristen for almost 7 years now, and I truly can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair! She consistently does an amazing job with both my highlights and cuts. Kristen has such a great eye for detail and always knows exactly what will look best. I always leave her chair feeling confident and refreshed. My manicurist Joyce is amazing! I’ve never had as great of an experience as with this person. Once you get your nails and wax serviced by Joyce- you won’t go anywhere else.

I had a hair service done by Alex a few days ago, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. Alex left mid-service for about an hour to pick up her daughter, and someone else had to blow dry my hair. The service was rushed, and the highlights turned out brown. The foil didn't sit long enough . When I got home, l noticed leftover dye on my face-and even worse, I discovered a painful chemical burn where the foil had been left on my skin. This has now left a visible mark that could become a permanent scar. I reached out to Alex directly to try and resolve this, but she did not take the situation seriously and offered only a $50 credit for a blow dry she didn't even perform, despite me paying $315 for the full service to leave unsatisfied and with a chemical burn no accountability was taken.

Liz is the best! Best at highlights she makes it look so natural! Amazing haircuts and blowouts! She even did an updo for my graduation!

Be careful! I am not a regular of this establishment, but have gotten a haircut there 2-3 times. The last two times, they called the day of the appointment to tell me that I was “accidentally double-booked” and that my appointment was canceled. I have to wonder whether they bump non-regulars in favor of regulars. Extremely disappointing as I needed a haircut before Xmas and quit looking when I got this appointment. Of course the business points to the hair stylist as an independent contractor (“it’s her decision, nothing we can do”), but it reflects poorly on the whole joint. I’m done

After seeing all the glowing reviews, I came here thinking the Strand would save me from my mess but it made my hair worse. I wanted a root touchup, but left with a glaring yellow that I was told would fade into the rest of my hair over time but only looked cheap. To be fair, I get it. My hair texture is different and maybe a challenge for some stylists but the results were disastrous, I had to spend more at another salon just to cover up the bad job. Would have given 1 star but adding an extra star since the ladies are nice and I don't blame them for not knowing how to work with my hair.

Kristen is absolutely amazing! If you're someone like me who is always indecisive, she takes the time to talk about what you want and helps guide you in the right direction for what will look best on you! I highly recommend her as she is the only person who has bleached and toned my hair, 10/10 experience every time :)

Our first visit was a pleasure, the establishment is clean & tidy. It's actually quite busy which to me is a great sign. We had Alex cut and color our hair and it was executed perfectly. She will our hairstylist for the foreseeable future.

Alexandra is amazing at doing the Pura Luxe treatment! I get mine done with her twice a year, and she always does a fantastic job. She's certified and recommended by Pura Luxe, so I know I'm in great hands. Truly the best!

i cannot say enough about this salon and Kristal, hair designer. wow, seriously one of the best cuts and colors i have received in a long time. fair competitive prices, a really fun vibe to the salon. this was a first for me with Kristal since I decided i had to leave the salon i was going to and what a great experience. she is really upbeat, professional and asks a lot of questions and quite honestly said since this was the first time, she'll tweak in the future. fair point. The Strand is a warm, inviting and stylish salon. Alex, my hair stylist, is amazing! She is a true professional. She has been my color and hair guru for over 12 years and is always attentive, creative and tuned into the best products and looks. She is also punctual and efficient which is very important when time crunched. I highly recommend her for all your hair options - you will love her!

Teri is amazing! I am beyond grateful for her. I am very indecisive and she always ask what I want done and i let her go with whatever she thinks. I have been going for about three years now and I always walk out confident and beautiful.

This place sucks plain and simple. I decided to give this place a try after one of my patients recommended it so much. I made the appointment and even got a confirmation the night before. I'm a mother of a toddler and a teenager doing virtual school so I knew I had to organize my whole afternoon so I can get there on time. After a 50 minute drive and horrible traffic I finally get there.. JUST to find out that the so "highly recommended" stylist ALEX, wasn't at the salon. One of the staff members texted/called her and after 30 minutes of waiting NOTHING. Yes, you read that right-- 30 minutes. She finally called back to announce that she won't be coming in because her daughter was sick. No apologies from her, ignored was the fact that I was waiting this whole time, didn't even offer to talk to me and attempt to offer a solution. I'm a mother of two kids and certainly know your kids can get sick. But I'm also a professional and responsible enough to know that my time is as valuable as everyone else's. She could've called and cancel appointments ahead of time if that was the case. I ended up walking out after wasting 2 hours of driving plus 30 minutes waiting for her to show up. This situation was repugnant, inadmissible and ridiculous in so many levels. I'd give them 2 negative stars if I could. Future clients- BEWARE and BE SMART! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where they actually value your time and your business.

Love this place! Samantha is great! She was busy when I wanted to get a trim yesterday, so I had Carsell do my hair for the first time. He was very professional! He told me exactly what he was going to do before starting. He told me what he was doing as he did it. He was like a surgeon and an artist! I love my new haircut! I will definitely have him work on my hair again!

Teri...Ahhh My Fabulous Hair Stylist :-) Where to start... Teri came highly recommended by a mutual friend in 1999. Back then she was working at Peter of London in Kendall. She soon then parted ways with POL and along with a group of talented hairdressers and spa professionals, they opened up what is now The Strand in Pinecrest. I have lived in Broward County and even moved to the State of Colorado for some time, and still was very loyal to my hairdresser. Only once did I stray because of my zero ability for patience which I have yet to conquer...she was booked! That alone tells you what a great stylist she is. Never again have I strayed. Lesson learned. Teri analyzes my hair and starts to ask "Ok, what are we going to do?" She is not only professional but approachable and honest. She lets you know if your hair needs help and if your hair will look good with the do you're trying to go for. If I say cut it all off, it's almost always a NO! Because I'm drastic like that...but that was a while ago. Now I just tell her I want layers, not too short, etc. and I trust that she will leave me looking pretty ;) Her magic always works! I may be a bit difficult to work with but only because of my CDO (OCD for those yet not familiar...hehehe). I do things a certain way and Teri understands this. Yes, she is definitely patient with me. She bares with me! God bless her :) After she's done with my hair, Erika will happily wash my hair yet again. I need to be hair free or else I will have a titi fit! Or maybe because Erika gives a great scalp massage. Yeah, that's it! Thank you Erika! You're wonderful. Overall this establishment is not only exceptionally clean but equipped with a very friendly professional staff. You're also offered a glass of wine to start off your day, whatever time that may be. Prices are set by each artist. So inquire within. I highly recommend Teri for your hair needs. Make your appointments now! P.S. Not sure what those two negative reviews are about or even sure how it got through the Yelp automated software since both reviewers have no measures of quality, reliability and have zero activity on Yelp. Shame. Please don't listen to them.

WORTH THE MONEY I've been seeing Teri for my hair for 3 years now and I've done all sorts of colors from black to purple, to red, to hot pink. She is amazing and really understands how to care for my curly hair. Everyone there is very kind and Jessica is THE sweetest receptionist!

KRISTEN BROOKE @ THE STRAND. WARNING!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO! It is november and I am still fighting the charge on my credit card from the late May. I would not YELP this if girl had not continued TO not return my money so I could get services elsewhere. I am a natural blond. I needed roots touched up. I was told Samantha , the owner, WHO WAS THE ORIGINAL PERSON REFEREED, was a great colorist. It looked that way from the sweet girl who suggested her.) Samantha was as not in that day. I asked receptionist who the owner might suggest and I ended up in the chair of a blonde girl named KRISTEN BROOKE --so HOW could I be in complete foreign territory? She had extra time and said she could also add a few high lites and lowlights. as well as touch up roots. I was there over 4 hours! Yes, Big smile on my face when I left. So glad to get out. Does not always mean I am pleased with work. I am not the kind to object and scream loudly at business. I had removed my glasses. I could see, under bad lighting, there was a contrast , which is good with highlites. The selection of color choices was just WAY off the chart. Nothing this simple should take this long. But simple. NO. I ended up with 1/2 in. think white stiles and deep deep red Auburn hair at my natural part. I looked like a zebra. , getting darker and deeper underneath at the nape of my neck. I REGRET NOT BEING ABLE TO POST PHOTO HERE. I EVEN tipped the girl $50. + paid over 220 on my charge. I called her when I got home to tell her it was BEYOND JUST unexceptable. She replied DREADED HAIRDRESSER WORDS 'you'll get used to it." my daughter screamed when she saw me in in the dark. Demanding I get her to fix it right way. Girl had no time the next day or the next day, maybe next week.!! I am used to any serious issues/disasters being handled as a top priority, and typically "please come in as soon as we open and I will work you in somehow". She was offering the following week and continued to argue with me- I was wrong. It is usually not a good idea to allow the person who got it sooooo wrong to fix it. Especially when they think they refuse to take responsibility. But she gave me no time for any option to make it right. I asked for a refund , when she found no time, except maybe 1 week from then, she refused refund and would elsewhere right way , that day, to a popular well know n repsected salon to be rescued., as a walk in. This is how real hairdressers feel about hair. This will take more than one visit to fix, not to ruin the overly bleached white stripes. 3 times over a period of months has me almost normal. and $7-800 later. She has refused a refund though she has 50 dollars tip for her independent status to pay renting space at salon. And she continues to make up stories to my CC company. . I have posted photo for laughs on my face book site. The picture says it all. the established good salon, MYRA's, has the before and after pictures on the wall.. The service world is only as good as the service it provides. And backing up clients to make them happy or at least satisfied. Not force them to wear a hat for a week.! Grading = Bad Service. She has No Talent for color. No Service skills. Disrespect of clients hair, her business, does not own up to her mistakes. I have yet to notify owner out of respect for any establishment and not playing the "I"m telling" game . So FAR anyway. Her letter to my credit card co. she twists the facts adding more insult on injury. The amount of time to right the wrong is way more than anyone should have to pay.

This review is for Kristin I have very thin/fine fragile hair. I use extension most of the time (currently the micro bead form). Several years ago (way before the magic of the life hair saving Kristin) I went to some where I found online and had a disaster, they used the hotheads tape version it killed my hair After a melt down a good friend recommend Kristin to me (I should of asked her from the beginning) Anyhow Kristin saved the day. Even with a packed schedule she saw how distraught I was an stayed very late one day to make me sane again. I came in picked out the extension color I would want and she rush ordered them for me. Deep conditioning, highlights and a cut later the extensions went in.... Life was good.... Several years have passed and I still go here. (She's seen me through a wedding a baby and several hair do changes - sometimes I have extensions some times I take a break from them). I live an hour away now and still make the trek to see her!

Review for Kristin :) I have been with Kristin for the past 6 or 7 years. My hair was jet black and horrendous because of using dye from the box. I went to Kristin and she fixed the mess i had made from years before. Today my hair is a gorgeous blonde with highlights! I love it!!!! I am always getting compliments on my hair. The comment below from Susan B. is puuuuuuuure BALONEY!!! I love going to the strand! I also take my 3 yr old to get her hair cut with kristin! I only trust her!!!Kristins customer service is great! I finally found a salon that I will keep going back to. Finally have a stylist I can call my hair lady. Alex is a hair goddess! She knows her stuff when it comes to color and style. I just tell her what I'm imagining for myself and she makes it happen and look even better than I imagined. I had been to so many places and struggled to explain what I wanted because I don't speak much Spanish, but Alex gets me. She makes the time fly by when I'm there and I would definetly recommend her. I've already gone back three times and will continue to whenever I need a touch up or feel like making a big change.

LauraLynne has been my Stylist for over 20 years---because she is the best !!! I never worry because the color, cut and styling are always perfection!~ I certainly have more gray hairs than we started, but you'll never see them! I highly recommend her!!!!

I have been seeing Kristen Brook for Keratin and highlights for over 2 years. She saved my burned and badly colored hair from extinction by some very high end and expensive operators in Coral Gables. My hair is now long, silky, and has the prettiest subtle highlights after rehab and maintenance by Kristen. I found Kristen through a gym acquaintance who has gorgeous long and silky blond hair. Her co-worker Crystal is also awesome and does my eyebrows like a New York / LA pro for an economical price. Thanks girls!!!

This review is for Lauralynn of The Strand: If you want an honest, current, fun- loving hairdresser, then Lauralynn is for you! She is friendly, professional, and treats her clients like family. I have never regretted switching from my hairdresser of many years to Laualynn after she was highly recommended by a friend. My hair was damaged and fragile and she patiently helped mr to restore my hair to its now healthy state. I tell her often how I was her rescue! It never fails to make her smile!

Lauralynn is fabulous!!!! She "fixed" my hair from years of over processing and wrong color. The salon is fun and friendly and so is Lauralynn. Most important she really listens to what you want. So many stylists say they understand and then do what they want. I'm happy.
