Free overnight spot (donations welcome) everything you need for one night! 🚐✨ Clean, quiet, and practical - nothing fancy, but totally fine. Definitely recommend if you’re just passing through. And the best part? The little camper cat 🐈absolutely made my morning!

Only Free Camping site in all of Iceland: We visited in mid-June and found this spot absolutely beautiful, nestled in nature. The kind lady who runs it lets people camp for FREE - there’s a donation box at the WC, but it’s totally optional. The kitchen area and toilets are simple but decent, and honestly, there’s nothing to complain about. Opposite the campground, she runs a cozy café with very reasonable prices for coffee, hot chocolate, and hot dogs - we loved going back for more! She also sells her own hand-knitted woolen items. The place is peaceful, full of Arctic terns (just be mindful of their nests), and truly charming. Plus, there’s a friendly cat who loves to be petted and a sweet dog belonging to the owner. A truly wonderful and unique camping experience!

This campsite is absolutely amazing —the only free campsite in Iceland, and it offers an experience that rivals even the priciest spots! 🌅 The sunset views are nothing short of magical, and the cozy closed kitchen is a lifesaver for cooking in comfort. A clean toilets too. The owner’s kindness and hospitality truly stand out, making you feel right at home. And if you’re lucky enough to meet Martin (one of the campers), you’re in for a treat! His stories are fascinating and add so much character to this incredible place. An unforgettable experience⛺✨

Free camping, donation suggested. And I believe there is a charge for showers. Donation box is in WC/bath house. We rolled in just before 10pm and easily made a place for ourselves. The terns were nesting here (mid-July) and were firm in protecting their boundaries. ☺️ Relatively level field with some muddy spots. Bathrooms were clean. Bring toilet paper. Thanks to the owners for this free-ish spot!

Amazing camps grounds with toilet facilities, all the campsite asks is a donation for your stay. Would 10/10 recommend. There’s a nearby church worth looking at too!

It's for free and we gladly donated some money to support that. If everyone cleans after them it stays clean and also functioning. Showers cost 500kr. Beware of the nesting birds in July ;)

I visited in early April, and the facilities were not great. The toilets were dirty and some of the sinks blocked, and the kitchen area and cafe was not open. There was also nowhere to fill up a campervan water tank so I had to knock on the door of the farm house and luckily they let me fill up my tank in their sink. Although it's not the nicest campsite in Iceland, you can't really complain as it is free, and I definitely think it's worth stopping by if you are trying to save a bit of money.

Our first camp in Iceland! After that, we just came to realize that it’s almost impossible to find any other free campsite like this in iceland. You will find yourself walking up with nice view and refreshing air. There is a decent toilet with light on whole night. Instead of a common kitchen, here offers you a proper sink. In my opinion it’s a perfect place for those traveling with camping car with basic amenities. We went straight here from the blue lagoon so no shower wasn’t an issue for us as well.
