,Together with 9 other family members we celebrated my mother's 80th Birthday at this exceptional resort.From the moment we arrived we were treated with an incredible level of care and attention that went far beyond what we expected. The staff were not only professional and attentive but genuinely kind and compassionate—especially in helping accommodate my disabled mother. Their thoughtfulness and willingness to assist her every step of the way meant the world to us.||The grounds themselves are absolutely stunning—peaceful, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The two saunas were a highlight, providing the perfect touch to an already serene experience.||Every single employee we encountered was warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure we felt comfortable and cared for. It's rare to find a place where exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, and genuine hospitality all come together so effortlessly.||We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and eager to return. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

We had the best time at the Strandhaus. The service is excellent, the dinner and breakfast menu exceptional, rooms are very spacious and modern, and the location is perfect right by the hauptspree with quick access to go kayaking or take tours. A wonderful experience all around. See you again soon! 😊

Excellent hotel! Beautiful and great room, great views and great staff. No AC IN THE ROOM! Only a cooling system. Asparagus and food were excellent . You must go on a kayak excursion through the river! Totally worth it!

Absolutely the top choice if you are visiting the Spreewald. The hotel is the absolute definition of a boutique hotel. A bit of charm, a bit of luxury, with beautiful modern amenities. The staff were so friendly and helpful, despite our abysmal German. We had a room on the water side with a balcony. We loved the clean wood floors, the amazing waterfall shower, comfortable bed, and gorgeous view of the river. We ate in the restaurant 3 times and the food is excellent - modern twists on traditional German food. I really enjoyed the horseradish encrusted schnitzel. We came into the restaurant on a Sunday after a long walk and there was one of the most amazing desert buffets I've ever seen - everything fresh and homemade too! One of the best features of the hotel is the fact that you can walk out the door and immediately access the walking paths through the Spreewald, You can go for miles and miles. We were there in the winter, so were unable to take part in any boating or swimming though. Highly recommend!!

We stayed one night in a balcony room overlooking the river - with the dog! ||Lovely hotel, super river-side location with dining terraces for breakfast and dinner. Great spa including sauna, with garden loungers and peaceful chill-out room, beside the river; no pool, but apparently you can swim in the river.||Our room was great; peaceful, big comfy bed, several sitting options, with TV, lovely en-suite with shower and toilet. The balcony was great, overlooking the river. The hotel provide the dog with his own blanket and water bowl (although a metal spoon to put out his tinned dog food would have been useful!)||We hired bicycles from the hotel for the day; very helpful, and lovely flat river-side cycle path to Schlepzig.||We ate in the hotel restaurant right beside the river in the evening; attractive food. Although the mosquitos dined as well as we did!||The breakfast buffet was absolutely gorgeous :-P

By far the best option for a modern, peaceful and relaxing stay for friends or couples within a couple hours of Berlin. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the food was great and the spa services were heavenly. We went in the off season (September) and sometimes felt like we had the place to ourselves.

A hotel recommended to me. I am very grateful to the recommender. This place is beautiful. The room so well appointed and comfortable. The welcome very warm. The restaurant excellent. Very positive. So that it is not thought I work for the hotel... no tea and coffee facilities in the room... car park too small, means that a little bad parking by others makes it impossible to park a regular car. However, would love to come back with the family.

I spent two nights with a friend of mine in this small boutique hotel, in easy reach from Berlin (50 min. by regional train, plus 2 stops: bus 507). We've had a very nice, spacious room with view to the river Spree (Room 107). Modern style and still comfortable. The only thing missing in the room was perhaps a water cooker to make some coffee or tea. ||||The spa is very nicely designed and comfortable. However, the area is quite a bit smaller than I imagined. There is actually only one Finnish sauna inside and one bio sauna outside in the garden. The resting room has about 10 long chairs. I am not sure if that will in peak times always be enough. I loved the view outside into the greenery of the garden. Also very nice the "Lounge/resting boxes" in the garden. You can use them for free if they are not taken or else rent them for one or more hours. So you have your only private space and resting area.||||I've had two Spa treatments and there were very good! I liked the Susanne Kaufmann products they are using. Staff was extremely friendly and the treatment room very nice and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, served by friendly and attentive staff.||All in all, I really like this place. Definitively a recommendation if you want to relax and unwind but not travel too far from Berlin.

For review #1000, I figured it should be some place special. So Strandhaus it is. I stumbled across the website while researching getaway ideas for an anniversary surprise for my husband. I wanted to do a staycation or something similar, because he didn't have the time off for going far away. Luckily, the Spreewald is less than an hour by train, so off to Lübben we went. The Strandhaus isn't in the official city center, but it's not far, and the island it's situated on is actually much busier than the city square. Even so, it's a relaxing and quiet place (if you don't happen to stay on a celebratory weekend, which we did), and it's located close to everything. From what I understand, the hotel opened in 2012. It's a four-star and it really shows. The rooms are huge, first of all, and designed very minimally but nicely, with a lot of awesome minor comforts, like big fluffy robes, slippers, apples in the hallway outside your room, a complimentary bottle of water, a working safe, etc. The bed is big and cozy as well, and you've also got a sofa with a TV, and a minifridge. The staff is really friendly and accommodating, which made the experience enjoyable... someone even escorted us to our room when we arrived and pointed things out, like the window with the netting that is recommend to be left open (in place of the other ones) to let the air in and keep the mosquitos out. There's a sauna in the hotel as well, so both nights we made use of that, and it was wonderful. Right next to it were cold showers, fresh towels, and flavored drinking water. There is also a big room with about 5 or 6 lounging chairs with towels and blankets, so you can hang out and read or nap post-sauna. Bonus: there's a grassy area outside (accessible only from the sauna area) with a view out on the Spree. In the mornings, there's a pretty awesome breakfast buffet. The fellow expressed a wish that there were better cheeses aside from generic grocery store slices, but they also had tons of fruit, veggies, breads, and meats, various types of müsli and granola, yogurts and puddings, jams and spreads, etc. You can also eat food from the "hot bar," like scrambled eggs and sausages, or order eggs and omelets from the servers. As for drinks, there were different kinds of waters and juices and even Sekt, and if you wanted coffee, each table had its own carafe. Each morning we spent about 2 hours hanging out and eating, talking, reading, etc. There is no real kind of rush and the service is great. As for food in the actual restaurant, that's a little more miss. We ate there one night and it's rough going for vegans and not many more options for vegetarians. The potatoes and quark with Leinöl was brought out shortly after ordering, which leads me to believe it's not made that freshly. The portion sizes were also a little small, by which I mean 1.5 potatoes (these are the smaller fist-sized ones, not Russet potatoes) per plate. Meanwhile, the creme brûlée was probably the worst creme brûlée I've ever tasted (by which I mean it wasn't bad, but it was just not very creme brûlée-y). The fellow did get a Käsekuchen though, and said it was really good. So there's that. But my advice: eat the breakfast but get your other meals elsewhere. That said, the food was the only point that wasn't a highlight, save for the terrible music... unfortunately, we stayed on a weekend that was an annual celebration when people ride boats through the canals at night... which means that on one side of the hotel there was a guy playing New Age flute music until midnight or so, and directly outside our hotel room was another guy DJing New Wave and German Metal until 1am. While the hotel couldn't have done anything to prevent this, I wish they would have told us this was happening before we arrived, so we could have planned for a different weekend, or at least brought earplugs. All things considered, we really did love our stay here, and I would absolutely love to come in the winter/off-season, when the city is hopefully a bit less busy. While it's a nice hotel any way you slice it, it really is a relaxing getaway option for when you want to hang out, be lazy, catch up on your reading, snuggle, and sauna it up.
