Strandhaven

On the 6th of August, we had dinner in the beautiful ‘orangeriet’, next to the kitchen. A very good atmosphere, friendly staff en good food. If you’re in Lillesand, we can recommend to have dinner here!

I understand it like this restaurant have had a renovation and larger changes - and now the reviews truly do not reflect the current place. What a lovely restaurant! The interior is amazing and the food even so. Great small starter of bread, soft cheese and caviar on the house - followed up by Thai coconut inspired mussels. Staff super friendly towards our youngest two year old table member. Do not let the low ratings affect you, as this place is a true gem.

Alex was an amazing server! We came a second time because of his hospitality ! The chefs made our perfect meals!!!!

We went to Strandhaven this evening for a special evening with family visiting all the way from Texas. What should have been a lovely occasion descended rapidly into chaos, due initially to the terribly slow service. This was followed by the news that the pizza restaurant had no more pizza (it was 6pm), no more beer (still only 6 pm). The bread was okay. The gyros was stuffed with raw chicken. Even the service staff looked horrified. They confirmed that our experience had been underwhelming, at best. They had the good will to deduct the raw chicken dish from the bill. I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be going back any time soon, sadly.

Came on a Sunday, the service was incredibly slow. Half the menu was sold out and then they ran out of beer. Ordered the chicken gyros panini and it came out raw and had to be sent back. Fish soup was bland. A lot has to be fixed here.

We ordered two coffees that never came (among many other things). When we asked politely for the third time we got filtered coffee ( not what we ordered) that half of it had spilled outside. Nice place to sit but the service is bad...

Great atmosphere and one of the best pizzas I ever had in Norway. If your into wine, ask for the wine list here you will find good buys from all the classic wine producing countries.

These people were so friendly in this cute little eatery. We grabbed a couple sandwiches and some house made tomato soup. It was chilly so the hot soup hit the spot. It was his own recipe and he was so proud of it. Rightly so. The mayo on the BLT was a good and garlicky. The grilled cheese panini was good as well. We didn't get any dessert but they looked really yummy. I'd return for sure!
