"Located directly on the beach, 'The White Castle by the Sea' is an Art Nouveau style house built in 1880. It has comfortable rooms furnished in a bright and airy Scandinavian style. Modern, elegant Nordic style restaurant with international cuisine and sea views." - Tablet Hotels

This is such a lovely hotel. Amazing service, staff is super helpful, smiling and welcoming. Location 10/10. Breakfast buffet was super tasty and various! They even made me a vegan plate, which I really didn't need at the end because of so much variety foods offered in buffet. Wellness is also an experience for itself - not crowded at all - super intime, clean, they had 4 different saunas, place for rest. Will definitely come back. Amazing for a romantic getaway!!

My room was excellent in comfort, spotlessly clean and with a nice large balcony directly facing sea. Food, during the evening and during breakfast, was of a high standard. Also a big compliment to the friendly and competent staff. It is wonderful strolling outside the hotel at the sea in this little town. ||It should be a five star recommendation, so here is the but... Instead of rurally outside- just the sea & the seagulls as ambient sound and people at the promenade- the first evening there was a bachelor party going on in front at the beach restaurant. Can't blame the hotel for this, but next day the same flock of people had booked the hotel as the wedding location. In the afternoon with the official ceremony directly in the hotel garden, with amplified sound rolling all over the place. A foul singer for hours made the non-tranquillity complete. Late at night, after their diner, the wedding party rolled out over the hotel, with children running at 11 PM loudly through the corridors and wedding guest to start yelling their good bye's. At 3.30 AM, remaining guests decided to walk to the beach for a drunk sing, while others bumped their way to the closed terrace for a chat. Directly under my hotel room.||I can't blame the hotel to accommodate such celebrations, and the wedding guests to have a splendid time. But, paying EUR 289 per night with expectation to have a rural weekend sea experience, didn't came out. I will come back at some time, because the place is great. When the hotel confirms there are no (huge) parties planned as such at these days.|

The location of the hotel is perfect! It's a beachfront location on the Baltic Sea and a few minutes drive to the castle and city center. There is also a nice path along the sea to take long walks.||||My husband and I stayed in the Elizabeth suite, which was gorgeous. It was very spacious with a bedroom (comfortable bed), separate living room, large bathroom and a guest restroom. There were plenty of comfortable chairs and couches to sit on. It is one of cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, and my husband who is very picky, fully agreed. Everything looked very new and it was spotless. We had a sea view. Unfortunately, there was scaffolding by our balcony because they were doing some renovations, but we were still able to see the water. Plus, they gave us 20% off our stay.||||All staff were helpful and friendly. My husband and I wanted to eat out breakfast in our room each morning and they were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was one of the most complete buffets I have seen during COVID. There were plenty of choices of rolls/bread, cheese, eggs, meats, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juices.||||I would definitely recommend staying here!

We have frequently been staying at this hotel and we really feel "home away from home". Friendly staff, clean rooms, wellness facilities, great food, great location.|It's obvious the staff appreciates loyal guests - we have established personal relationships with the restaurant manager (Andreas Wingert) and Marc Kolczak in the reception and we could probably mention even more individuals. |Final comment will be a suggestion for improvement:|Please consider Danish as a languge when it comes to menu as we have already experienced lots of Danes in the hotel. Your homepage has Danish as an option :-)|Alternatively, please make sure all staff will have basic English skills as some of us are from the Copenhagen areas, and we don't have German as a natural second language :-)

The place is nice but food is very poor and the management is really bad especially the very arrogant restaurant/hotel manager Andreas Wargnert. We was there with our mom 75 years old which had a voucher most of the amount was spend on a trip in 2021. Due to corona she has not been back since and with a pen and stamp they have wrote on the voucher the remaining amount but no expiry date. After our lunch my mom wanted to pay with the voucher which was half the amount we spend. The manager said we could not use it as it has expired but there was no expiry date on. I talked to the recpetion and the guy behind the desk understood us and agreed to deduct the amount then the manager came and over ruled it and said due to german law its valid 12 months and we could not use the voucher. He said maybe his former collegue had made a mistake but he was not there at that time and i said yes but then you and the hotel need to be responsible for that mistake not us. But he stood firm that german law voucher is only 12 month we are from Denmark were voucher is valid 3 years and we dont know german law. I think its very bad service and management and I think this is a big mistake for such an amount to risk the reputation of their hotel. We will never go again!!

Wonderful hotel, great hospitality - especially for our dog. Fantastic culinary experience in the restaurant. The view from the airy room was great overlooking the beach and the fjord. We would definitely stay again!

Such a lovely hotel. Had a very comfortable room - perfect bathroom. Atmosphere and staff extremely welcoming and friendly. The location is very picturesque and all in all a nice weekend getaway! Breakfast was super nice - the scrambled eggs were wonderful. Would recommend the destination and hotel for a short weekend away.
