My experience with Straub Auto Repair for almost 5 years has been unmatched. The professionalism, honesty and kindness of all the staff result in excellent service at a fair price. The only thing I can say is thank you very much for all your kindness and excellent service.

I can’t say enough good things about Straub. Two days after moving to Yonkers I got a flat tire. I happened to be near Straub so went there to fill it with air but it had a large tear that couldn’t be fixed. Straub took my car right away and, since I had been looking for new tires, had them get me a quote on 4 tires. They got me one that was less than I had seen and did the work that day. It was a great end to a bad situation.

Very reliable and friendly shop. Rare to see people smiling when they provide you a service when you do not book a time slot, but do over and beyond to get you out of the door.

I’m a first-time car owner after having just moved to the area from Manhattan. I bought a used car from Carvana and I just brought my car in for the 20,000 mile checkup, tire rotation and oil change. Everyone was so friendly, and the job was completed quickly and at a reasonable price. No unnecessary upcharges. Great to have them so close to my home! I will be using Straub for all my future auto needs.

Eddie and Harry are caring and helpful guys. I tell all my friends and neighbors to go here which is why it's so damn crowded... Everybody tells people who they like to take their vehicle to Straubs. Very fair prices and great advice. Debbie at front desk is knowledgeable and very capable.

I can't say enough great things about Straub. They are super busy but still try to squeeze you in if they can. Their work is always terrific and they are honest about what you do and don't need. 5 stars for Harry, Eddie and the whole crew!

I've been a Straub customer for years. And they have taken care of many of my cars from crazy imports to regular old daily beaters. They are always dependable, fair and friendly. Whether I make an appointment or I have an emergency, their garage door is always open. When deciding where to go to get the job done, my first choice is always Straub. Thanks to the Straub bros and team for making automotive annoyances bearable!!

Had a very poor experience dealing Straub Auto. The owner Harry has no sense of how to talk to people. He seems incapable of having a polite straight conversation. For my auto issue, they asked me to come into the shop and mentioned that they would diagnose and give me a quote and I could wait in the meanwhile. On day of my appointment, I drive 25 mins to get there and Harry just U-turns and says, I have to leave the car and they'll get back to me later in the day. I told him that as discussed over the phone, I live far so i don't mind waiting however long. However the very next minute Harry just throws a fit like a child and says he doesn't have time to deal with this and asks me to leave. Wow!

Straub is a local place whose advantage is that it's close to the Metro North train, so you can theoretically leave your car there in the morning and pick it up some evening, if the timing works out. It's family owned, for those who care about that, and the owner/boss does get his hands dirty under the hood most days. On the actual mechanics working there, I'm not too enthused. They're OK for basic work -- oil changes, etc. -- and they can sometimes be cheaper than dealers for cars out of warranty. But I've had a bad experience with an expensive repair that had to be re-done by the dealer, so trying to save money here can backfire. Not crazy about the skill level of the average mechanic here.

Once again, my go to guys. Got a flat tire. AAA came and put on the spare. Went straight to Straub. Within 1/2 hour the old tire was fixed, on the car, and the spare back in the trunk. I don't know what I would do without them. Got to meet and talk with Harry's father.

The scheduling is efficient and easy. The service is always prompt and professional and the work is without reproach. What else do you want at an auto service facility? Harry is great to deal with, as is all of the staff. Definitely a five star operation!

Once you've had Harry, you'll never have anyone else! Straight shooter. Even told me once : get a new car- this one is toast. And then helped me choose a better one. They're the best!

Expert auto repair and advice, honest, courteous, friendly and accomodating service -- all at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? (We have two cars, a Mini Counntryman and a Subaru BRZ.)

My family and friends have been going to Straub for over 12 years, and have always found them to be honest, competent, and courteous. As am someone who maintains two cars from the early nineties, I am familiar with cars and often fix things on them myself. When I do bring them into a shop I often know the fix needed already. Straub has always been completely honest about what my car needed, and the prices are very fair - I have never once felt like something was milked for extra labor time or gouged for something my car did not need. Another huge plus is it is easy to arrange drop off and pick up if you are commuting into NYC, as the garage is right near the train station. Can not say enough about these guys, it is hard to find an honest, competent, reliable garage these days - and this is it.

Went in with an alternator problem on my F150 They got it done the same day AND $150 less than I was quoted ! Thanks everyone. Going to bring my F350 in next !

Yes, there is such a thing as an honest mechanic!! Straub is my go to auto service. They've serviced my Acura, and BMW at an excellent price point. They are very efficient and professional.

By far the absolute worst place ever . Eddie changed the oil on my 2016 Lexus GS and besides the exspensive oil change to begin with he jacked it up more by adding "additives" which Lexus doesn't recommend . Also told me the car needed brakes , which at 22000 is unheard of . So I took it to Lexus to make sure of ,it's better safe then sorry And as expected it won't need them until at least another 30000 miles . All I can say is shame on you , trying to sell stuff to a brand new car . First and last time going there . Also thanks for getting my car greasy ,, another 100$ out the window to get it detailed to remove grease on my suede door panels. I'm new to Hastings not new to cars. Avoid this place like the clap

Love taking my car to Straub. They are extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and helpful. No complaints, been taking my car there for over 10 years.

Everyone here is courteous, professional, and I could not be happier! I drove up in the rain without an appointment-- I had a slow leak that I just discovered in my tire. 20 minutes later, I was back on the road. They had plenty of cars to work on, but still took the time to plug my tire. It is a great family business that clearly cares about its customers!

I have to tip the scales here... Straub is an excellent, friendly, neighborly repair shop. I have NEVER had any problems with them. They are kind, honest and if you want explanation of what is being done for you, any mechanic there is willing to take the time and walk you thru the details. Yes, they are busy. No, they are not a 1-hour oil change place. They take the time and do things right. I'd rather have my car held for longer than have some derelict working on my car any day... These folks are professional and know their s$#t. My father was a mechanic and a hot rodder, although I never took to his hobbies, I know my way around an engine and as long as I'm in the area my cars go here.

Great local mechanic. Have all the expertise and equipment any mechanic would need. You can talk to them over the phone or in person and get an answer and patient conversation . Drop off in morning work is finished by end of day. Friendly. May not seem organized at first glance but they are. Fair honest. Reasonable prices. I have bmw.

Although they were short staffed over the long holiday weekend, Straub came to my rescue when I needed an emergency serpentine belt replacement. Been going to them since the Big Al and Bobby P. days. Honest, fair and courteous. The absolute best!!!

My car made a strange noise, The cold fear came over me. I'm going to get ripped off. Then I remembered that Harry was around at STRAUB. I pulled in and asked him to take a listen. As usual he was helpful, friendly and right again. No car repairs are cheap. But having someone treat you fairly everything time, fix what's wrong and charge a fair price is as good as it gets. Thanks Harry. As usual, my car and I will be back.

Harry I beg to disagree. I didn't park my car when I brought it in, but left it at the entrance to your parking area. I would NEVER have parked my car in a no-parking zone and I'm sorry that you feel you need to be dishonest in order to justify your lack of responsibility. It further validates my decision to take my business elsewhere.

As others have mentioned, Straub Auto Repairs is honest, courteous and reliable. It's obvious that the owner and employees care about what they do and value the customer. I've been in several times now and they have always taken the time to explain things and given me the best options possible when it comes to maintaining my cars.

HORRIBLE FOR OIL CHANGES!!! They will not give you a time estimate for when it will be done and making an appointment is basically useless. Front staff is indifferent at best! I called after it had been there for three hours (I dropped it off right when they opened) and asked for an estimate of when it would be done and was told "it depends." I asked if it could be done within an additional hour (this would four hours after I dropped it off) and was told they would "do their best." I went to pick up the car, without the oil change being done, and was told that suddenly they could "do it right now," which is the clearest indication that they don't care!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

I have yet to have a car Harry can not fix! Straub Auto is a family business and apparently everyone is family. No matter what time of day, i always get immediate attention. As a realtor i depend on my car and need to be rolling. My car is my office. Thank you for the superb service and always appreciate your hot gourmet coffee. I recommend the Straub boys without hesitation!

No one reviewed yet -- ladies, what is going on (and you know what I mean). For the guys, excellent and honest car repair. Keeps track of service on your car and seem expert in all Rivertowns' cars (ie: they know Passats, not sure about Jags....).

Straub Auto is very quick, very honest, and reliable about turnaround times (when they tell you it's going to take a day, it always takes at most a day), they're clear about prices, and their prices tend to be competitive, if not the absolute cheapest (you get what you pay for). I feel, frankly, very lucky to live near a good, reliable, honest auto repair place. They're hard to find.

I love Straub Auto. I've been going to them for 20 years and they are helpful, smart and great mechanics. I trust them and have never had a bad experience in 20 years.

I got a ticket for missing my inspection update. So I tried a first auto repair place where they told me to come back two days later. At Straub's they were really friendly, found a spot for me the same day, and I had it done two hours later.

Excellent service always at a fair price. If you're new in the area and you're looking for an honest, competent mechanic this is the place to go to.

Excellent dependable service- it's very comforting to have a mechanic who is competent AND honest. If Harry or the guys tells me something is needed, I know it's true (as opposed to local Toyota dealership). They're great about keeping track of what is needed. Not the cheapest around, but not high either.

Straub is great! A true family owned business! We had a car disaster on a Friday around 3pm while passing through the area and they took care of us and got us out of there by 5. We called a few places who wanted to do a much more expensive, elaborate repair when all we needed was to have our gas tank drained. They were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The price was also great. I wish I lived in the area so that I could go to them for regular service!

This spot is great. Needed a quick job done on a busy friday night an hour before they closed, and they still snuck me in a got it down within 15 minutes of arrival. Super cheap, too. Highly recommended!
