"Belgium's Strawberry Museum Strawberry season in Belgium is a big deal, particularly in the town of Wépion, near Dinant in the Wallonia region. Wépion's berries are known throughout the country, as the best strawberry, and their arrival on store shelves is eagerly anticipated. In fact, the town loves its red berries so much, they have their own museum, the Musée de la Fraise, or Strawberry Museum. This tiny museum tells the history of strawberry growing and production in this region and explains its importance to the economy and culture of Wépion. The museum also boasts a small shop of strawberry products (pictured here) including: jams, candies, liqueur and, of course, strawberry beer (It is Belgium after all). In the summer, there are also guided tours of the 35 acre "Jardin des Petits Fruits," a garden of local and exotic fruits. If you're lucky, you'll even get a taste. Don't forget to stop at one of the town's many strawberry stands to taste these local legends for yourself."
The Wépion Strawberry Museum is a delightful experience! Exceptionally clean and well-organized, it's easily accessible by bus. The host was incredibly polite and welcoming. The highlight was definitely the delicious strawberry tasting at the end. A highly recommended visit for strawberry lovers!

Small, but very intense museum dedicated to strawberry, its history in Europe, and its’ influence on culture.
Even if you’re not interested in strawberries yet, you’d learn lots of amazing things about it.

Very great place, I strongly recommend. People very nice and welcoming. You can access the fruits garden with the entrance fee. Parking in frontispiece easy. Small but interactive and adapted to both kids and adults.

Small but sweetly done museum about the history and culture of strawberries. Nice for both kids and adults. The garden of small fruits is plus.

Very friendly lady at the counter who likes to give info. The garden where you can freely pick fruit is sweet. Only downside is that the museum is rather short with a lot of text and not so much interaction.

Nice and compact museum that tells you about the history of the strawberry cultivation in the area. I don't think you could do any better on this topic. The lady at the reception was very friendly and made the effort of talking to us in English. She even offered the kids a strawberry-flavoured drink. The garden in front is also worth a stroll: we picked some very tasty strawberries there!

The *museum* is a silly 3-star affair that's for the most part not worth the detour unless you have really little kids or just a lot of time to kill in Wepion.
The associated roadside stands up and down the Chausee de Dinant that sell the boxes of fresh Wepion strawberries are worth a special trip. Generally, we buy two boxes, sit on a bench on the banks of the river, and eat them all, throwing the stems into the water.
