Steamboat Springs: A Complete Guide to a Beloved Western Ski Town

"Steamboat’s natural hot springs are just as alluring as its slopes."

"The Ultimate Therapy Just ask the locals: Strawberry Park Hot Springs is one of the best hot springs in Colorado , arguably in all of the U.S.A. When you visit Steamboat Springs, visiting the hot springs is a "must have" experience. Open on weekends until midnight and weeknights until 10:30 p.m., head over after a full day on the slopes to soak tired, sore muscles and enjoy the fabulous natural beauty of the springs all around you, draped in snow. Soak in 104 degree mineral water as the snow falls- and if you dare, take the plunge into the freezing river waters that border the springs for some spa-like treatment. The springs are open year round, so for a different experience come back in the summer to swim and have some fun. Massage services are offered on-site, as well as facials and Watsu Therapy. During the winter months if you're wanting some peace and quiet, go during day time hours. As the day goes on and people get off the slopes, Strawberry Park fills up, forming a hot springs apres-ski party instead of a tranquil mineral soak. No glass bottles or alcohol admitted."

The person at the entry Hut was not very friendly. He had kind of a confrontational tone. One time I was carrying in the tank bag from my motorcycle and he said what is that and where are you going with that? He thought it was a speaker playing music. I don't mind him asking but both of my interactions were there were not fuzzy when I'm coming on a vacation day to hang out at a really beautiful place. Everything else was wonderful. The property is beautiful. The pools are beautiful. It was much prettier than I expected.

Google
My boyfriend and I visited the springs Wednesday night and had a lovely experience! The attendant was very kind and patient with us when we had a little mishap with payment, and the springs themselves are my favorite in the US. It’s a rustic, outdoorsy experience, not at all like the hot swimming pools you see elsewhere. Everything is well maintained, and it’s so peaceful to look at the abundant stars while soaking in natural hot springs and feeling the river stones beneath your feet ^,^

Nice mix of various temperature pools. Not crowded when we went (mid-afternoon). If you are staying off the resort, consider taking the shuttle - it's worth it. You get to view the scenery without dealing with the steep, winding gravel road. Once there, mind the instructions of the staff, especially as they pertain to the footing. Wet rocks can be slippery. Enjoy the soothing heat. Don't forget the sunscreen.

We went to the hot springs as a two-hour-window stop and it was great. First off, it is clean and not too crowded. The hot springs are HOT, but there are several pools with varying temperatures-- including a stream that runs right next to the hot springs, fresh off the mountain (very cold, but refreshing). We are a family of 6 and we visited the hot springs with another family of 6. We found there was ample room for our stuff. The facility is safe and run well. The staff is there if you need them (we didn't), but they are not intrusive or over- supervisory. Don't bank on fancy amenities and know that this is fresh, non-chlorinated water so there is weed growth and sediment in the water. There is a faint sulphuric smell as well, but it is not distracting from the relaxing pools. Great people watching too!

Google
This is my platonic ideal of a hot springs. While I of course love a Blue Lagoon or Turkish Baths in Budapest, this has immediately become my favorite hot springs in the US. I didn't look at any pictures or the website when I booked, friends told us we should go and we were doing a hot springs tour of Colorado so I walked in having no idea what to expect. I was in awe of how beautiful it is here (after a long gorgeous drive on the nicest unpaved road I've ever been on). There was a variety of pools and temperatures (and definitely one in my sweet spot of 106-109 and as it is right on the river, it would be easy to cool down. We spent the night in the caboose but next time I come, I would book a camp site and hike during the days and spend the evenings in the hot springs. I can't wait to come back. This is a place everyone who loves hot springs NEEDS to visit. Can't recommend highly enough.

This park has nice Hot Springs, and it was a pleasure to visit them with a family. They give a 2 hour block appointment. And it's a ticketed entry of $20 per head. The drive is through well winding paths nicely cut through mountains, a little rambling towards the last 2 miles. But it is doable, there is ample parking, and at the entry you have to pay in cash. Get your entry, Ross, abee and rob. I'm doing a great job of entry and security check further on. There is the spa room, which has all the changing rooms and it's a good arrangement with nice cloth curtains, very nicely, managed. Wooden stairs, take you down to the different Poles. The first one is ultra hot, I think, around 146°F. Then you go on. There are nice, chase and Sun beds. You have to get your own towels. Then there is a medium heat full next asleep. Little less temperature and the last one is A low cool There's one which is ice cold, but it is fun. Changing the Pools and getting to know the temperature. The best thing is to do the surface treatment for your skin and hair. It's really, very, very beneficial.I'm feeling very relaxed Must-visit steamboat, Springs. Other facilities like old town have much less to offer. But charged thirty five dollars per head. However no receipt is issued...also road of 2 miles has no fence...further water could have been cleaner

Google
It's set back a bit and the road is something I wouldn't recommend without proper clearance and driving experience. The place is stunning! Everything. The architecture is gorgeous. It all fits together and doesn't ruin the vibe the place has. The hot springs and glacier fed River is the reason we visited. Their restrooms were clean and well stocked. The hot springs are amazing. They have decreasing temperatures from almost too hot, to "how is this not ice?". Changing between them you get the benefits of warm soothing water and ice cold, bone chilling, refreshing water. It wasn't overly crowded as they limit the number of people and require reservations. Everything about this place was worth the trip.

Google
Such a cool experience. Check in was fast and easy then we were set free to explore the many different springs and temperatures. Decent clean working bathroom for what you can get in the woods. Nice set up with the chairs and trails to walk to each hot spring. Not sure why there are so many negative comments about service. After we paid we had no other interactions with employees and the one interaction we had when paying was pleasant. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
Honestly, this is the best natural hot spring that I've ever visited. I've frequented a few in Mammoth and those do not compare at all. Loved how big this one was and the temperatures of them that were available were very nice. There is a cold plunge, a hot one and a lukewarm one available, along with some smaller ones here and there. Costs $20 for access and there's some chairs available to put your items on. Parking is limited, I'd recommend coming during your reservation time to ensure parking to be available. Vibes were so nice and it was a cool experience to do this during sub zero weather/ while it was snowing. I'd definitely come back to this hot spring when I'm back in Steamboat!! Truly a one of a kind experience. *the only con would be the fact that the drive to the location is a bit treacherous, especially if it just snowed...the roads can be completely covered and be considered "off roading type" of roads, and borderline chain necessity...if you are confident with your mountain driving, that's the only thing that can get you up the hill to the location

Yelp
Not the slightest experience we envisioned on 05/23/2025. Deferred maintenance!!! We were really looking forward to Strawberry Hor Springs while on vacation, here at Steamboat Springs, CO. It was highly recommended by several local people. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. Stairs leading into (2) of the main Springs were heavily coated w/ algae. Net effect-slimey & gross conditions. People were holding on extra hard as they navigated each step. Tons of algae floating in the water. Disgusting. This business clearly shows the public, safety and routine maintenance are not their top priority. Substantial business liability exists. The parking lot was packed with steady visitors. I'll report our experience to our Hotel concierge and Steamboat Springs Visitors Center. 100% not worth visiting until the thorough cleanings are completed and regularly maintained.

Yelp
Unfortunately, it was not worth the visit. My fiance, and I unfortunately had a pretty bad experience here. Started with the bus ride and our driver being quite rude to the overall group, saying comments such as you can take another shuttle from overhearing a conversation that was not related to them. My friend and got yelled upon entering because she brought a bag of chips and sandwich, they frightened her so much she's threw it away right away. I totally understand she shouldn't have brought them, but it's completely unnecessary to yell at her, she obviously wasn't trying to do anything intentionally wrong. Overall the service is insanely RUDE, HOSTILE, and AGRESSIVE! Upon leaving my friend was walking towards us near the front entrance, and the guy at the window stopped her, and said "hey you where are you going" in a very hostile manner. She was covered in a towel and essentially stopped right in front of that entrance to wait for us, the approach overall is so insane. it made me soo uncomfortable** to be here. I feel like everyone was insanely aggressive and hostile for no reason. I don't know if they're feeling underpaid but this is such harsh service that does not create returning customers. We go to Steamboat twice a year and always go to the hot springs, this is the first time I've had such a bad experience. I'm not sure if they're Under New Management or their employees are just rude. But highly encourage there to be a reset with how the staff interact with customers.

Yelp
Strawberry Park Hot Springs was one our trip highlights for sure! Up in the mountain tops is where you can find the springs. Booking online was easy, and we made sure we had cash when we checked in for our reservation. The changing area/restrooms are tiny, so I recommend wearing your swimsuit to make it easy. Don't forget to bring a towel (like I did!). On a Sunday afternoon in October, it was busy but not overly crowded at all. There are multiple spring ranging in temperatures. On a chilly day, it was the perfect activity. We bounced around to the different temperatures, and even tried the cold plunge! The scenery is just gorgeous. We had so much fun relaxing in the springs and in nature. Highly recommend checking Strawberry Park Hot Springs if you're in Steamboat!

Yelp
My friend and I we came here because, I've always wanted to try a hot spring from watching Anime. $20 bucks gets you access, not too much parking. There's a changing room and rest rooms as well. We brought our robes and towels from the hotel. At first I tried the warm pool then I switched to the hot pool and it was perfect. There's also a cold pool and 3 other pools that's more private. Very relaxing. The scenery is beautiful and breathtaking from the drive up to the spring itself. The night shot was everything. I would definitely recommend when visiting steamboat, it's a must.

Yelp
Really neat hot spring. There are 3 areas that have temperatures of hot, warm, and cold. The road there during the summer was easy to drive in a compact car and the website was easy to make a reservation. The facilities were nice and there are areas to change and use the restroom. Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept card. I would also recommend bringing towels. This experience was fun in the summer and would likely be even better during the winter.

Gina M.

Yelp
We had a nice time with our family, but the staff there is atrocious. The young woman at the entry gate was downright nasty to us. We had a big family reservation and. She had not only no patient with a large group, but also snapped at me directly when I was suggesting that my children who are adults go in with the rest of the family while I waited for my husband. This place needs to seriously reconsider the training they do for their staff. Definitely lacking the in the concept of welcome, kindness, and Customer Service.

Brian T.

Yelp
Place is okay, the staff are horrible, rude, and aggressive. Like the soup nazi, guy was visibly shaking and playing tough guy authority when I chugged half a beer in the parking lot before entering. Also need to put showers in to rinse off the moss and algae from the pools.

Yelp
This is an all natural hotsprings located on a hill close to the quaint town of Steam boat.. It's swvwral miles from thr town itself up a narrow mountain pass type road...(just mud and snow) There is a parking lot and a short walk to check in and pay then a walk down a 2 muddy snow covered hills...This is where thr changing rooms and bathrooms are......proceeding down a flight of stairs across a bridge and down to a place with loungers and seats and all outside (no roof or shelter)...is the first biggest and hottest hot springs pool....its all natural so you will be walking barefoot or rocks and gravel (nothing sharp all smooth or manageable) ...next to this pool is a less hotter and somewhat smaller pool and next to this is a cool water pool. This place is super cool and probably existed since way back when.....A cool place to chill when its zerp degrees out and worth thr $20 per person admission....and don't forget to. Bring your own water...their water fountain doesn't work and their is no place to obtain any...

Yelp
Considerate staff and well-maintained springs. I really enjoyed the serene vibe of the dark evenings.

Yelp
This place is one of my most favorites in North Americas in winter! Its breathtakingly gorgeous, we were staying in the town and decided to take one Day and visit this hot spring and I just fell in love. Definitely worth the drive, it's pretty clean and the view is just amazing. I'd have loved to see some rooms to change for people who were not staying at the cabins.
google avatar

Rhiannon N.

Yelp
Two hot pools, one cold plunge and two bath water ones. It's a big hot springs so busier then others I've been to... I like to meditate in the hot springs couldn't do that at this one. The kid who checked us in was awesome! The views though, WOW!!!! We went in first part of October and the colors were crag beautiful.

Yelp
A must go if you're in Steamboat! Make sure you are able to make a reservation online, it doesn't cost any money to make a reservation. The drive up was bad but not terrible. With the weather, there were many many pot holes. I would advise an AWD car with some clearance. The entrance is $20/person cash only. Make sure you bring your own towel, change of clothes if you want, and water! You will get very dehydrated in the hot springs! The hot springs has different levels of pools which was super cool. From what I heard the coldest pool is around 30 degrees. I stayed in the nice hot one. It was nice that there were rock seats along the edge so you didn't have to stand the entire time. The views are spectacular as you can see the water flowing down the river with snow all around you. I would recommend this to anyone who comes to steamboat!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous location. I went in Winter after skiing and it was so cool at night bc there was so much steam and fog you could hardly see 10 feet in front of you so even though it was crowded it felt private. Met other ex military few marines and also met a couple from France. Friendly vibe, beautiful location and atmosphere. It is far drive from Denver so more an add on when visiting steamboat not worth the drive for only that.
google avatar

Yelp
You can make a reservation online for free just to save your spot. Then, when you get there, it's $20 per person. They say you have a 2 hr time frame, but it doesn't seem like anyone is keeping track. They have multiple spots and pools with varying temperatures. There's also some spots that's scalding hot. The water on the surface looks clean. But there's a lot of algae in the water as well as some of the surfaces are extremely slippery from the algae. It's right next to the Hot Spring Creek River, which is very cold. So it's quite a shock to the system when you jump into the cold water. But it's definitely cold and refreshing. There's a stone hut where you can place your clothes and belongings. But there's also multiple wooden chairs and recliners you can sit at and enjoy the sun (if it's out). There's also a changing hut that I hear smells musty, with carpeting, which definitely doesn't help. This place is pretty big. So even though it gets crowded, there's enough space for people to hang out at. But it seems as though the later in the afternoon, the fewer people there are, which is nice. The upper hot springs were closed off. But if you go pass the bridge at the bottom, there are a few small picnic tables and bbq pits areas, which is pretty cool. The warm water is definitely good for any sore muscles you may have. Signage around here, especially when you pull into the parking lot, can be quite confusing, as there's multiple areas you can go into. But find the little truck shack, and that's the entrance into the hotsprings. I definitely enjoyed my time here. It would be better if they cleaned the surfaces and cut down on the algae. It's hard to see where the rocks are. So you can potentially kick some of them. Which hurts a lot and you definitely can get a couple of cuts and scrapes on your legs. But it's definitely relaxing, and I had a great time here.
google avatar

Gary N.

Yelp
I'd give the hot springs 4 stars. They are beautifully situated and well worth the rough dirt road to get there. I'm rating it 2 stars today because the attendant in the pay booth outright tried to rip us off today. He thought we were tourists from Europe and tried to charge us $30 entry instead of the $20 it costs. Then he tried to short change us and take a $3 tip without asking. If the owner reads this, the thief is a male and was working Sunday May 7th at 2 PM. This man is a serious detriment to your beautiful place.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
I loved my time at Strawberry Hot Springs! Their reservation system is easy but make sure to book early if you are going at a busy time. They offer times every 2 hours but I found we only needed about an hour. The staff at the entry were not particularly friendly but the other guests in the pools were. They have bathrooms and changing rooms as well. I believe you can bring in water which I recommend since the hot springs can dehydrate you.
google avatar

Shaun G.

Yelp
Love going here and have been coming here for 20 years and bringing our family who visit us because that's how awesome this place is. Today we had 15 people drive 3 hours to come in the mts. to Steamboats. Strawberry Park charged my niece $20 for her 2 month old baby! Are you kidding me!! He never put his toes in the water at all obviously! How ridiculous!
google avatar

Apple S.

Yelp
We came on an evening around sunset. The drive up here is beautiful. The door guy was rude. The place was packed. It got really dark and you kinda have to feel your way around. First it was pleasant to relax and enjoy the baths. But what disgusted me is people having sex. Apparently the smaller upper hot pools are what this place is for. I won't be back after seeing that's what's going on here. The bathrooms are far up the hill so I doubt many will make the effort to make the walk especially in the pitch dark. You basically park, pay cash only and walk in. Don't bring valuables because it's so dark you have to be lucky to even find your shoes back.
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
It was a lovely experience. We took the shuttle up for a nighttime visit. I'd like to go back during the daytime just to see the scenery better. It is gorgeous at night!!! The shuttle driver was friendly and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Morgan A.

Yelp
Note: $20/ person and Cash Only! Now for the other stuff...I loved Strawberry Par,k Hot Springs. Super cozy and tucked away with no cell service which I loved. We went in the summer and it wasn't too busy or noisy. I loved that they have access to dip in the river to cool off between some of the hotter springs and that the largest pool was a super comfortable temperature (not too hot). A lot of the pools have super slick rocks at the bottom and I wish I would have brought sandals to wear into the pools. I'm sure these hot springs are even more incredible in fall/winter but the summer visit was still super pleasant and the lack of crowds was refreshing.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Best bang for your buck in Colorado. Clean. Great planning. Surrounded by nature. We had the small cabin. Barebones but perfect. The sky at night? Should be an official Star Park. Really special
google avatar

Susan R.

Yelp
Always a super relaxing time !!! The hot springs are so beautiful and you can pick how hot you want to be . Will definitely be back

Julia S.

Yelp
I've gone here three times spanning over 5 years. First time was okay, second got worse, third (last night) was horrible. I will never go back. It was busy, dirty, tons of couples making out (borderline getting down and dirty in the water). The nudity was weird in my opinion. It's also extremely dangerous. The stone is SO SLIPPERY and the railings get stuck to your hand due to the condensation and it freezing. I slipped and landed flat on my back - i'm lucky on didn't end up in the ER. I will never go back here and will be calling them to improve their services. Don't waste your money.
google avatar

Mo C.

Yelp
As a local of 10 years, I thought it was pretty lame they took away season pass'. Since covid, you have to make a reservation before going and it's nonsense. . Some flex for the locals would be so cool on the hot springs end. Love you guys, but I've been boycotting and will continue to.

Yelp
Horrible experience. The hot springs was nice but being verbally assaulted by an employee ruined all the calm we had experienced. We were changing our clothes in our van in the parking lot after our evening soak. Someone who did not identify himself came in with his truck way too close as if he was going to run into us and started yelling that we needed to leave. I hadn't looked a clock in hours. It's very dark at the springs and I don't see well at night so it took us a wile to get back to the car even though we happily left when they did the sweep at 10. He then started honking his horn and flashing his brights while hurling personal insults at the top of his lungs. I was genuinely feeling as if he was going to physically attack me. He made comments about our "sh*tty van" and that we should "drink somewhere else". I am a 45 year old female business owner and my partner is a 39 YO disable vet with PTSD. Our drinking in the van days our long past and nothing and I mean NOTHING warrants that kind of unhinged behavior. We were simply changing out of our wet clothes in a relaxed manner as should be welcomed and expected after a hot soak. This behavior was shocking, cruel, uncalled for and triggered my partner into panic attack which was exacerbated by the fact that the miserable human followed us out the lot and all the way to Steamboat and would not pass us when we pulled over to let him by. We were both shaking, extremely upset and feeling unsafe. This is not what we were expecting and it really put a fracture in a beautiful week in Colorado. After reading similar reviews I am concerned contacting the business might not even be helpful. I am appalled that someone like this can exist working with the public sector. This is beyond unprofessional and crosses into the category of assault. Don't support this business! Get this man to anger management classes.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite hot spring that I've ever been to & I've been to a lot! The biggest pool is the hottest, the one next door a bit cooler, and there's river access for all those extreme folks that want to take a freezing dip! I tried but it was too painful. Even though it's popular, it didn't feel crowded because it's so big! It was such a relaxing experience and absolutely beautiful. There is a cute changing cabin and a little truck where you go to pay admission. Definitely pricey..$20/person and they charge for towels. I think it's worth it though! It's very well maintained. You have to reserve a spot online (2hour slots). As of 4/3 the road up was dry and snow tires were not needed.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Nice hot springs fed pools in natural surroundings. Has changing cabin, massages, restrooms, easy parking. 30 mph drive 5 miles outside of Steamboat. Read website to make reservations.20$ cash only.
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
Came after dark and had a great time. Everyone is respectful and keeps distance since it is clothing optional at this time. There were a few different temperatures but we tried the three main springs and had a great time. No issues with keeping our stuff on the hill nearby and using the dressing room. Nice location and great experience overall!
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
*Reservation required and cash only* Each reservation is 2 hours and $20 per person. Bring your own towel if you don't want to buy one for $5 there. My friend took a group of us here to enjoy the hot springs. There are a number of pools varying in temperature. At the bottom of the pools, it was mostly gravel and some large rocks. Some of the pools had algae at the bottom so be careful of slipping. It was a fun way to unwind at the end of the day.

Rita H.

Yelp
Have staff that treat visitors like somebody they at least have the minimum amount of respect and not treat them like vermin. They very obviously look at visitors as crap they can't avoid. People are much better off using the Hot Springs in town. Yes, they are not as spectacular but at least you don't need to feel like you are hated just for being their guest. After arrival, right after paying my $20.- fee and changing clothes I saw that my kid who lives in Europe had an emergency and tried to reach me. Well, there is no reception in the facility so I left, drove where I had reception, was finally able to reach my kid and help him solve what was at hand. When I got back 30min into our reserved slot they wanted to charge me another $20.- dollars and treated me like somebody who had broken all the rules even though I had explained it all to them.

Jane N.

Yelp
Absolutely breathtaking!! From the scenery to the soak in the springs. A natural body healer with the minerals makes you feel cleansed in your mind, body, and spirit. I recommend bringing slippers and possibly a robe for when you get out to change.

Yelp
Wow wow wow wow wow! This place was beautiful! I'm not a huge skier and so when my family wanted to come for a ski trip, I knew I wanted to find other activities to do that I would enjoy. I have done a ton of excursions over the years and I know I can be very critical, but this was beyond amazing! The scenery was amazing and the experience was just as great! I didn't really interact with any employees except the shuttle service so I can't speak to that, but I can tell you it's a once in a lifetime experience (unless you live near there). They have a few different "pools" that are different temperatures. How it works is the hot water comes in at 150° through a little stream and then poor into the main pool, then they have a little door that will let in water from the ice cold lake right next to it to cool down the water (around 105-110°). Then the water from this pool filters into a couple other pools that are cooler. You can also swim in the ice cold pools that are used to cool down the water. A lot of people would go into the ice pool and bring back huge sheets of ice. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) there are rocks on the ground outside the pool so I recommend bringing flip flops and leaving them outside the pool to wear in between pools. 2) they have a little shop where you can buy water, towels, and snacks, but you can't eat in the pools. 3) they don't have lockers, but they have chairs by the spring that you can put stuff on 4) they have a changing room, but it's small or you may want to wear your swimsuit 5) there are bathrooms on site but it's a bit of a walk 6) you may think you can Uber there, but you can't. If you don't have a car that can handle tough terrain, take the shuttle they provide

Yelp
I have come here a handful of times for the past 20 years. Each time, I leave full of joy! Nature is healing and this place does it. I have come in June and in October months and my favorite is def in the Winter! Less people and there is something about being in the hot springs while it is snowing that makes it so much better. The man at the ticket booth (didn't get his name) was very kind and accommodating! Just an FYI, they only accept cash ($20) and there is no atm there. Unfortunately we forgot our cash and had to drive back down to hotel to get it -- but we remained positive and still had a great time! (I brought my 8 year old and this is what he had to say for this review: It was so fun, the cold pool was so relaxing. The first pool is really hot. The second pool is very warm. I would say to go to the cold pool last, because that is what I did. Have fun and be safe! In Jesus' name, amen. )

Yelp
Really wonderful hot springs in an ambient setting! I love that you can jump in the freezing river and get back to the hot pots easily-so many mental and physical health benefits! I've only been to hot springs around Iceland, but Strawberry Springs has one of the best layouts to me. There are several pools, from a small one that can fit maybe 3 people to larger ones down near the river. The top pool is the hottest, the large one near the river entrance is the least hot- most comfy to stay in longer. The algae and rocks are normal and to be expected. If you're going to complain about nature in a natural setting, you don't sound funny you just sound sheltered. Don't be that guy! Wear water shoes and use common sense and relax.

Yelp
~MUST MUST MUST~ visit this place if your on vacation in Steamboat springs, Colorado! It's was in the month of December during the winter! Book this adventure through the timeshare we were staying at. Everything went actually how it was explained. A shuttle bus came to pick us up right at the front office. The shuttle ride was great! The views were amazing and the driver was nice! When we got there we just gave them our information and they directed us to where we needed to go and let us know what time to be back up at the main office to catch our shuttle back. The actual springs were amazing. It was snowing heavily all around but the waters were like a jacuzzi. Me my wife and our friends had an. Amazing relaxing time! I will never forget this experience! I

Yelp
A few must-knows before you go: - reservations are required during COVID - they're hard to come by since the springs are at half capacity - cash or check only and you can't pay ahead / no ATMs on-site - not really any changing rooms and no towels provided I had heard horror stories about pre-COVID times when they packed a ton of people in. Our experience was much better at limited capacity! Once you're in, there are multiple different springs tubs to soak in, from super-hot (106) to cool spring water and everything in between. It felt very clean and relaxing. There are tons of chairs around to set your stuff down and lounge. We went in the summer so it was pretty warm. There are spa/massages services onsite too but we didn't give those a try. There is a small snack bar where you check in at the top but I'd recommend bringing what you want. The time slot is for 2 hours but they weren't enforcing it. We were tubbed out after 2 hours so headed out then. Legend has it that clothing is optional after dark ;)

Yelp
How you can give less than 5 stars is beyond me. The hot spring is tucked away at the peak of Hot Spring Creek without wifi and no cell signal so if you have phone anxiety this might not be for you. Location: about 20 min drive from Steamboat the last 2 miles is dirt road and very steep grade. Sign said snow tires required after November 1st or first snowfall. Reservation: lodging is booked out months in advance and day use hot springs you have to book online for 2 hour window time slots. Price is $20 per person cash only! Upper bath area is hotter than lower so choose your temperature. The day I went was 50 degrees with sunshine so it was perfect. Without sun, you might want to pack extra clothes. No this is not the ritz Carlton and they don't have private enclosed spa rooms. They do have restroom facility and they do sell water at the entrance. Friendly staff, will be back many more times.

Yelp
I echo what several other reviews say about the staff and logistics here. Getting my reservation for one person on a weekday turned out to be a total headache. I originally had a reservation for 2 people, and then emailed them the night before to reduce the existing reservation to 1 person. I got a reply saying my reservation for 2 had been totally cancelled. It was a bit of a train wreck trying to get my original reservation time for one person back; I kept being told I needed to rebook for 1 and that the staff could not help me, but the online reservations were sold out. Eventually, I was able to get another reservation on my own and admittedly showed up to my reservation a bit grumpy and prepared to be irritated. My day-of experience was completely fine; the woman working when I arrived was incredibly nice and helpful. The grounds were super clean and it was fun to check out the different temperature pools. I came on a 95 degree day so did not last in the hot springs for very long, but the atmosphere was really enjoyable and relaxing. The road (summer, daylight) was not bad at all, but I can see how it would get pretty daunting in the snow and/or the dark. I think it'd be really fun here on a cold day!

Yelp
Horrible staff. They do not know how to talk to customers. I'm not sure how they are running this business with such an unprofessional staff. We ended up going to Old Town Hot springs where the staff was so accommodating and respectful. Would never ever come to this place nor recommend to anyone

Yelp
Please note this spot is CASH ONLY and you must arrive with cash in hand to pay for for your entrance. Venmo, card, or digital payment is not available. There are no ATMs once you drive approximately 20 minutes up a dirt road to the springs. We made the mistake of not having cash and had to rely on the kindness of a stranger to spot us a little cash. He was cool enough to trust us that we would a send Venmo payment later! Strawberry Hot Springs is really beautiful but remote. There is no cell phone service once you get up to the springs. There isn't a snack or drink bar and no alcohol is allowed. You're allowed to bring your own cooler and snacks. There are 5 different soaking pools that vary in temperature. We walked around to look at the campsites and they seemed cute! I took a peek at the covered wagon sites that come with a grill. It looked nice! Visiting was a good experience and I'll likely be back if I'm in Steamboat Springs!

Yelp
Zero stars for rudeness of the manager. We had reservations, arrived at 8:30. "Dick" the alleged manager drives up to us. Starts saying we're late, they close at 10pm. Then he proceeds to say we can't leave a dog in our RV, "unattended!" This gut was the farthest thing from professional or customer service! Won't be going back! This guy has a HUGE chip on his shoulder that someone WILL surely knock off! Thanks for nothing DICK!

Yelp
I've been hesitating for a long time to write this review because I don't want this place to be discovered yet, but I guess it's time... I started coming here when I was 8 years old and it was simply rock pools that people had just built themselves, no entry fee, no cabins, nothing around, clothing optional :-| Now they have built it up but it's still an amazing place. They have 5 or 6 different pools with different temperatures of water, all of which comes straight from the mountain. The most unique one is one where you can actually be in the river yet it's still quite warm because of the spring water mixing with it. Absolutely gorgeous place surrounded by aspen trees in the mountains, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere 20 minutes from Steamboat downtown. Definitely a great spot and I hope everyone enjoys the natural beauty and relaxation that this place brings me every time!

Yelp
Hot heaven! Steamy serenity! What I love about this hot springs is the communing with nature. The forest and surroundings are bucolic. It's serene and natural, but not overly developed. You get the incredible natural, unprocessed environment but the comforts of a well maintained facility. I've walked to Mammoth hot springs. Those hot springs consists of a hole in the middle of nowhere on the plains. It's stunning but surrounded by spongy earth and the carved in stone seat is maintained by locals who scrub it regularly. It's small, hot, not adjustable and required you strip down in the freezing air. I loved it but this experience? Certainly more refined and luxurious. There is a changing hut which provides ample privacy for derobing. The bathroom is beautiful high beamed wood and teak. It's gorgeous and features high ceilings. The various ponds no doubt are the highlight with ample hot water for many, many parties. There's so much space! You can enjoy your privacy here or chat with others. The grounds are so expansive it's really Dealer's choice. There are multiple pools- some with grottos, others that allow the plunger to eek toward the heat ever so gently to avoid getting over cooked. Some are quite small! It's absolutely fabulous. It's a bit algae laden so you'll definitely need to wash your suit but you can feel the body relax from the first dip and frankly this is common with any warm body of water. It's a fabulous experience and so well worth it!

Yelp
I enjoyed myself here and was never harassed or treated rudely. When I went clothing was optional after 9 pm and anyone under 18 had to leave. That was pretty groovy but there were a few young guys around 18-19 trying to get a look at the nudity around them. Didn't bother me none but a few others didn't like it. lol. Leave by 9 if you're prudish.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! I enjoyed my visit here. Make sure to reserve online and cash only is what we were told. The rock is very slick and slippery bring water shoes.
