Really enjoyed my experience staying here for 2 nights for our trip. Nice hotel with clean rooms, at a great location where you can drive to all the great sightseeing places near Mt. Shasta. Each room had a sitting area right outside. At the center is a century old 2 story house where they serve complementary breakfast, and also complementary wine from 5-6pm. What really stood out was how nice all of the staff was. From check-in to the tasty breakfast, the staff was amazing! Very nice and genuine people that made the stay memorable! Thank you!

I have stayed here at the strawberry valley inn many times over the past few years and each experience has always exceeded my expectations for a small town inn. The location, staff, and charming appearance of the inn make it worth it to me. The rooms are always very clean and I feel safe here. With prices of dining out being high, I really appreciated the complementary breakfast. It was great to know each morning I could get some protein, fruit, and a waffle if I wanted. I’d consider their breakfast a step above the continental. The harvest restaurant next door at their sister property the Shasta inn is truly something special for dinner, I was not expecting such a fine dining experience. I believe a local family owns and operates both! The front desk woman, Shyanne, I believe is her name.. is so thoughtful and understanding. She went above and beyond to give me local recommendations for dining, hiking, and relaxing. One night I locked myself out of my room after midnight by accident and within minutes she was there to help with a new key and was so kind about it. If you’re looking for small town magic and want to feel taken care of, this is the place. Also, the rose and flower garden in front of the beautiful lawn is so lovely in the spring.

Wonderful hospitality - Anna makes the legendary breakfast and Tiffany is your local guide and makes sure everything is taken care of, even if you arrive late. Be sure to let them know if you are arriving after 8pm so they can make arrangements to leave the key card handy.

Adorable cabin style rooms. Extremely clean and comfy! We only stayed one night but I could have easily stayed for several. The view is spectacular and breakfast is included and it was absolutely delicious. Quiet and delightful stay. Highly recommend! I had a king sized bed with a sofa in a little living room. But the queen rooms were lovely too.

Stayed during the mushrooms festival and had a good stay. My family and I enjoyed the breakfast and the front desk lady Cheyenne was really nice to us and our kids. Room was clean and I loved the view of mount Shasta. It is also in walking distance from a few restaurants and the bar if that is your thing.

Google
The Azalea and Cheyenne were absolutely fantastic—warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was outstanding, featuring homemade waffles, fresh fruit, and eggs. They even offered complimentary wine, and kindly helped us pack breakfast to take on our trip. The place was spotless, felt completely safe, and had a charm that easily surpassed the big-name hotels. We stayed at four different hotels during our trip, and this one was by far the best of the best.

Mostly clean room, however, tops of the windows were filthy. Unfortunately, there were a lot of fruit flies or such in the 2 bath windows. I should have taken photos in the pm when they were flying but the photos show some dead ones. We pulled the shade and that seemed to contain them. Cobweb on ceiling over the tub. Nice, firmer bed and a variety of pillows. The right foot post of the bed was loose but it all seemed sturdy anyway. Good heat or cooling split. Unfortunately, there were a lot of fruit flies or such in the bath window next to the sink. We reserved a two queen room but could not park near it with our small U-Haul trailer and car. Switched rooms to the 1st room—a king suite and the hostess added $50 although when making the res on 5/29/25 it was the same price as the other room—which seemed outrageous to us. However, had a minor issue and Tiffany came right over to handle it.

Love this place! It is on the main road, right next to the Pie Tap. Pie Tap is a nursery during the day and a restaurant at night during the nice weather. The Strawberry Inn serves a breakfast in the am and wine in the afternoon. The rooms are large and well kept. I have stayed here twice and will again. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Reserved via Expedia, check in was smooth. Older, but quaint with vintage decor. Bed was comfy. Clean, safe and very quiet! I like parking right in front of my room. Several nice choices of restaurants close by, close to fwy. A delicious served breakfast of fruit, coffee and freshly made Belgian waffles.
google avatar

Yelp
Pleasant boutique hotel. I had a wonderful stay. The place is a little outdated but it was not a problem to me. The host are great they made cute blueberry Belgian waffle, 2 hard boil eggs with a bowl of fruit and coffee to complement the breakfast after an exhausting day of hiking. I stayed for 2 nights but didn't have breakfast the second morning.

Yelp
SUPER CUTE! Honestly, I want to keep this review to myself and in my heart because I'm being selfish and don't want this cute little place to get overrun by A-holes. It was clean and there's a waffle breakfast in the morning. I'm allergic to berries and they made a batch without berries just for me to be able to have breakfast every morning . :) If you don't want a waffle they still have other non-berry fruit, toast, boiled egg, and oatmeal that you can have. They have coffee and tea for you all day and they have a complimentary wine hour, which I didn't partake in because I was out hiking and exploring with my dog. This place is so lovely I can't wait to go back again. Every single person there was kind and helpful. Cheyenne, Kim, Mindy, and Kathy THANK YOU for making my 50th birthday trip special. Jake had such a great vacation with me. It was difficult trying to find a decent hotel that would accommodate dogs and I'm so glad this place did. This place felt like a home away from home.

Yelp
I always stay here to break my journey from Coos Bay Oregon back to the Bay Area. It's very quiet and I love the grass/garden area. Very relaxing. This is the first time I got a suite but having a couch to chill on was very nice. Staff is always friendly. My doggies love to relax on the grass after a long drive. I've been coming here for 3 years. In the past Ive stayed at other hotels in the area but this is my favorite.

Yelp
Beautiful setting for a well kept jewel. Great service and price. For myself, wife and daughter, the beds were a bit too firm, so our rest wasn't as good as it could have been.

Yelp
Found this little gem off the 5 Interstate for the night. It had such a cozy charm and appeal. Front desk staff was so friendly and so welcoming. Our room was so beautiful and spacious. It had a living room a built-in desk and a large four poster bed. So clean and nice.

Yelp
We stopped for the night here in the way to Oregon with friends. We all found the property lovely, no highway noise in a wooded setting. The motel is old style motor lodgey, rooms mostly vintage but comfortable. Ours had a separate bedroom with electric fireplace. Fridge in room. The more like a bed and breakfast in my estimation. Wine tasting in the evening in a quiet garden, nice warm breakfast in the morning with truly fun staff. No view of mt. Shasta but that was all good. Close to everything outdoors!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Lovely motel/hotel!!! From check in to check out everything else as wonderful. Large room with a separate living room and bedroom. TV in both rooms, fridge and microwave. Very clean and bed was super comfy. Large bathroom with shower/tub combo. We will definitely come back and soon!! Cute downtown area to explore. Very nice woman at checkin gave us a flyer with list of things to do. Breakfast every morning and a wine tasting in evening. It snowed while we were here, in May!! Property looked like a storybook photo covered in snow!!!

Yelp
Excellent, wonderful, charming, clean and just the perfect place to stay while in Mt Shasta and vicinity. Large quiet rooms located in a lovely park like setting. Great onsite parking. Wonderful staff. Amazing breakfast and great coffee included in the room rate. Do yourself a favor and make this charming inn your go to when traveling in the area.

Jessie B.

Yelp
This place is darling, worth every penny. We checked in on a Friday for 2 nights and had a king room in the back corner of the property. There was a little bistro set outside the door, perfect for an evening cocktail or morning coffee. Enter the room, we were greeted with a spacious living room with a full sofa, side chair, small fridge, microwave, several tables, and a TV. Super clean and inviting. The vanity area and bathroom were on the opposite end, and had the cutest retro floral wallpaper, which matched the aesthetic of the property. The bedroom was spacious and, while there was no closet, there was a large dresser and hooks on the walls with some hangers. The bed was super comfortable and the air conditioner kept us nice and cool. When booking, I didn't realize breakfast was included. It's not your normal hotel breakfast, there was a woman there cooking waffles, serving fruit, and making sure everyone had what they needed. Being a local, she also had some great suggestions about places to see. They also have wine tasting in the evenings and are affiliated with the restaurant across the street.

Yelp
This was a sweet find. It's an older property, but very clean and nicely kept. We had a King suite, it was spacious and the bed was wonderful. Would definitely stay again when we're up this way .

Yelp
The Strawberry Valley Inn in Mount Shasta is quite a wonderful little place the rooms again are all surrounded with the front entrances of one floor so it was real easy to get in to unpack to enjoy the room even though we only spent one night I think it would be a wonderful place to come again Mount Shasta is just a little beautiful beautiful town that has a bunch of old world charm and we like the Mexican restaurant next door as well so what can I say I'd go back

Yelp
Stayed here during our President's day weekend trip. When I checked in, the front desk lady was not wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. She told me once we check in, no one goes into your room and you can turn in a sheet of paper to the front desk if you need more towels or toiletries. Our room had two queen beds, a microwave, and a mini fridge. The room and furniture are old but it was clean. Parking is along the rooms so we were able to park in front of our room during our stay. Every morning, they offer a to go breakfast that had a water bottle, yoplait yogurt, a nature valley bar, and apple sauce. Check out was straightforward - you just leave the keys in your room and leave.

Yelp
Loved this place! Came up here with my three kiddos and it was perfect. Magical weekend! The staff was so very kind and made us the best homemade blueberry waffles in the morning with whatever else the kids wanted. I love places like these! They make you feel like part of their family. Definitely recommend it for somebody who wants a small town experience. Also, the rooms were very clean and perfect size for the four of us.

Val D.

Yelp
Charming B&B type motel. I like the look and country old house feeling. Affordable. Clean. A night before we stayed at other hotel in CA, and this is appx $50 less, but so much better. Everything you need is here. Nice Mexican restaurant just walking by, some fun stores are very short driving time. The only concern.... We both were feeling that the older lady who served breakfast was kind of not very pleasant. She was not rude, and spoke politely, but she still looked like she either tired from people, or maybe she had a bad day. Not very friendly. I didn't see a honest hospitality. Still.... If we need to take some rest after long driving, I will consider this motel.

Yelp
Super cute spot! We called the day of our arrival and were successfully able to secure a king room for the night. Our original plans were spoiled by the weather, but this little gem gave us a warm, dry spot for the night. For $100 we had a super cute room, wine tasting in the lobby, and breakfast the next morning. Pretty awesome deal! Our room was adorable! We aren't picky travelers so relatively easy to please and considering we had planned to be backpacking that night it felt like heaven! If I were going to be picky, the following would be updated: Old school wall heaters in the room so the rooms run hotter than the thermostat states, but easy to manage by turning the dial. Pillows were not as lovely as I would prefer, but again for the price point it was fine. There were 5 total on the king bed. Bathroom was old school and could use an update but clean and functional. Staff was friendly between checking in, wine tasting, and breakfast. They make to order waffles or pancakes. Not gluten free but they had fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs so there was plenty. And since we brought food for our backpacking trip I simply carried over what I wanted to eat from my supplies so it was perfect. I'd totally stay here again! It was a little bonus in our adventure and we loved it.

Yelp
Surprising gem of a motel in the middle of Mt. Shasta. Very cute, clean, and comfortable room with a separate sitting room. So nice!
google avatar

Ann A.

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise! I booked it when there was little else available in town. And when I got there, my heart sort of sank when I saw it was laid out like a motel - I assumed I would find a spare motel-quality room. But when I walked in, the room beat my expectations by a mile. It's spacious, well appointed, and nicely laid out, with a comfortable sitting area and large desk/workspace. There are also nice spaces on the grounds to sit and relax. It's not right in town, it's a little outside it (~ a 15 minute walk), which has disadvantages but also benefits - it's pretty quiet there. There are a couple nice restaurants right across the street.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night while passing through to head home but I wish we could have stuck around longer. They were very accommodating as we showed up past the closing time of the front desk, we appreciated it very much. I love this area and I felt safe at the strawberry valley inn. There is a couple of beautiful lakes nearby, and some awesome spots to explore. It's a great place to spend a couple of days! This inn is really cute, beds were comfortable, dogs are allowed and they even have to go breakfast bags or you can stay for a freshly made waffles with fruit and an egg. We loved the breakfast, the waffles even had fresh berries in them! It's an adorable inn, cute little seating areas in the front lawn where we enjoyed our breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and We will be back again! :)

Yelp
Nice people. I chose it because it was dog friendly. The rooms are just sooooooo dark. The mattress is nice the linens and towels good but depressing colors. Lots of mediocre hotels in Shasta I am afraid. Very little to choose from. It just needs updating so badly

Yelp
I love this sweet spot on Mount Shasta. The rooms are comfortable clean and spacious. Wine tasting and breakfast are a treat. The quaint and charming atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant. Staff is kind and responsive. We were just driving through but I could imagine spending a lot more time here.

Jay E.

Yelp
We stayed here and loved it. I thought we reviewed it last year when we stayed there for the first time but I don't see any review from me so here I go. Now we've stayed at the Strawberry Valley Inn two times and we felt very good about it both times. They are serving breakfast again in the big breakfast room and we enjoyed that quite a bit. Everything about the place suited us and we appreciated that it doesn't have a corporate, cookie cutter feel to it at all. We plan to make it our regular stop on our occasional trips from the Bay Area to Bend Oregon. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to any concerns we had, none of which were serious but we could assume that this management cares about pleasing their customers.

Yelp
Such a quaint spot, comfortable bed, warm bedding, lovely design room, clean shower, comfy atmosphere and we felt at home with the continental breakfast. My blueberry waffle was made to order and the owner is so nice. It's a recommended stay for the night or longer! We will be back!

Alexandra G.

Yelp
Place was a filth !!!! Old lady in the front was amazing but the other receptionist was not the best. Needs lots of work and maintenance doesn't look like they clean the room throughly. Bath was full of ants coming out the pipes.

Susie M.

Yelp
OMGoodness!!! Found this gem by accident, and I'll always stay here when I'm passing through!!! I LOVE this Inn. Brian is amazing! I called 5 minutes before I arrived, and he was all ready for me. Then as we talked he discovered that I was most likely leaving before breakfast, so he gave me yogurt and eggs to keep in the room refrigerator for the morning. He went out of his way to welcome me. The room is beautiful! It's clean and doesn't smell!!! They have sitting areas around the property to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There is restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend the Strawberry Valley Inn to everyone!!!!

Yelp
Cute little motel. Great free breakfast when there isn't a pandemic we've stayed there a few times and it's right down the street from Shasta's main area.
google avatar

Pam P.

Yelp
We had peaceful sleep. Our room had 3 windows, A/C and heater. The toilet flush pressure was very low, you'd need to hold down the toilet flush for a few seconds. Yes it's a bit outdated but the bed was comfortable, shower pressure was good, breakfast offered pancakes and waffles among the typical continental breakfast, microwave & fridge included, great location. We'd definitely stay here again!
google avatar

joe g.

Yelp
Average "Motel 6" style place. Room furnishings were old, outdated, in poor condition. Hard to get very hot water. Internet worked ok. Bed was firm and comfortable. No extra blankets or pillows in room. No safe. Room did have microwave. Whatever they used to clean the rooms smelled awful and we had to keep windows open for long periods of time to air the room out. Staff was friendly. Has a good location within within walking distance of town Suggest you consider other alternatives within the nearby area. Would not stay here again. Not recommended.

Yelp
I went to Strawberry Valley Inn a couple weeks ago and fell in love! They have an amazing breakfast, wine hour, and the suite I had was so cozy, and charming. I was especially so blown away by the great hospitality and kindness from Gia and Ben. I was nervous going on my first solo trip but Gia and Ben went above and beyond to help me feel like I was right at home. Thank you to them for showing me the absolute best genuine customer service and friendship I have ever experienced! If you haven't been there then please go! You won't be disappointed :)

Yelp
Stayed here overnight while road tripping back to WA! Cozy and sweet Inn with great customer service! We stayed during the Covid Pandemic and were sent off with to go breakfast bags and coffee! Would definitely return here to explore Mount Shasta!

Yelp
Such a nice, very welcoming inn! We ended up being stranded in Mt. Shasta when our truck broke down enroute to San Diego. Checking online for a nearby hotel with good reviews led us to Spring Valley Inn. The employees couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Both Todd & Tanner were outgoing and helpful. In between welcoming guests, they were quite busy cleaning up around the area. The area outside was very serene and we loved being surrounded by trees and chirping birds. We loved our room! It was big, clean, and really gave us a "we're home" feeling. We stayed for two nights and will definitely make this our number one place to stop whenever we can.

Jill M.

Yelp
Very disappointing - much that could be great but this was a disaster. I thought it was a room in a cute stone building but it was a motel style unit with no windows other than the parking lot entrance side. I still would have been charmed by the cute furnishings and nice lawn area but the fact that there was a stair to the bathroom with no distinguishing markings meant that I actually tripped/fell twice until I put a towel on the stair to alert me that there is a difference in height. During the day it wasn't a problem but in the evening I did not see the step at all. It looked upon close inspection that there was a plastic tube (?) that may at one time have charged in light and helped show the hazard. It did nothing while I was there. Being forbidden to enter the main building after check in meant that I could only leave a letter asking for response and assured improvement for future occupants - no response up to now so I can only assume no improvement to the room. If you must stay here avoid room #10! Also, the no breakfast or cocktail hour should result in lower rates as it definitely is a motel experience rather than "inn". All in all, the experience was not good and I would hate for anyone to trip as I did and have an injury. Coffee shop down the street was great though and I can thank the check in person for that suggestion.

Heather O.

Yelp
Room smelled terribly of smoke. Nauseating. Had to get candles to even sleep there. $25 pet fee PER NIGHT. Absurd. There is no actual economic reason for this price gouge as most dogs do not cause damage, and if they do, the inn can take it out of the security deposit. I've gladly paid $10 or $15 pet fees for entire weekends but this $25 per night BS is excessive. Do not recommend traveling here with pets. We will never again stay here.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
So glad we stayed. We were heading south after a visit in Oregon and this was our stop along the way. It was easy check in and being able to park along side your room made getting the luggage inside easy. The weather was very warm while we were there, but the room AC worked great. The rooms do need a bit of updating, but it was clean and the bed was comfy. We'd been driving for quite a few hours, so it was nice to find a a good Mexican restaurant next door (easy and short walk)! Free breakfast was simple but good. We would definitely stay again.

Yelp
LOVE this place. A truly wonderful surprise. From the time we arrived, where Tanner checked us in and brought us a complimentary glass of wine plus gave us the scoop on the property and where to go to dinner, to the wonderful surprise of this awesome room. Super quiet, private, and totally charming. I could stay a week but am just passing through, however I will make this a permanent stop on my travels up and down I5. We are traveling with our dog and this place was perfect for her as there is an entry patio outside to feed her on and plenty of places to walk around afterwards. I have heard from many people about the fantastic waffles at breakfast and look forward to a wonderful night and morning tomorrow. The customer service was 5 star straight across. Thank you Tanner!
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! The King suite is absolutely spacious, adorable and cozy. Probably the most comfortable bed we have slept in traveling. The fresh snow fall is picturesque. Main house is warm and inviting. Breakfast was delicious and our Inn Keeper was a joy to talk with. We still have 1 night of our trip left but we know it'll be just as great. Thank you for the memories, we will most definitely be back.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous well-kept place, with friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming staff. Came here for a work assignment and was lucky enough to be a guest. Extremely welcoming, forthcoming with information about town and beautiful place.

Yelp
Excellent service! Great rooms! Would stay here anytime. The owner was extra friendly and went out of his way to be helpful and hospitable! What a great place!

Yelp
This little gem is just the best. We were evacuated from the Lava Fire with our 2 dogs. We had given up hope on finding a roof over our head for the evening let alone the next few nights. It was 4th of July. We pulled in and I immediately thought there is no way they will let us have dogs here but I was wrong. Mandy, the motel manager, happily met our needs for that night and two more. Thank you Mandy!

Jeannine M.

Yelp
We have stayed here before and loved it. But this visit was completely different. It was obvious our sheets had not been changed, they smelled like the last person's body. People smoking next-door comes right into your hotel room. I wish they had signs pointing people over to the lawn area where there are tables and chairs to smoke over there. People talking late at night and early in the morning in front of your room, so loud!
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Booked this place on booking.com as we were driving from southern California to Idaho. We just figured we would make it about that far and were hoping for the best. Got there after office was closed and found an envelope with our name on it taped to the door. Next morning when I went to close out bill we were offered breakfast, fresh cooked berry waffes, coffee, hot cocoa. Yummy! Booked it again on our drive home! Definitely coming back here when we can spend more time, it was wonderful. And beautiful location near the base of Mt. Shasta.

Yelp
This place is a little gem! I wish we had one more night to stay here! You cannot beat the price of the room for the comfort and quality. Large spacious bathroom, living room area and bedroom, with a fridge and microwave, amazingly comfortable bed. Such a quaint, beautiful country room! We had complimentary wine tasting in the evening and complimentary breakfast in the morning. Thank you for your great service, we will be back!

Yelp
This place is very cute! Although small, it is clean and welcoming as a tiny little retreat on your way up through California to Oregon.

Yelp
What a wonderful place with really nice people. I have not stayed there but my sister did. My sister drove up to spread our older sister's ashes out on some property of a friend of ours in Shasta. I'm handicapped and I couldn't travel but I wanted to do something nice so I decided to pay for my sisters room . These people couldn't have been nicer. When I explained what I wanted to do they were more than helpful and the next day I had a receipt in my email as asked for . My little sister said the rooms were nice and she had a lovely stay. It's nice to know that Shasta in some regards is still the quaint little town I remember from my youth. Thank you very much Strawberry Valley Inn for taking care of my sisters.

Yelp
The Strawberry Valley Inn is a wonderfully quaint little stay nestled within a quick drive of Mt. Shasta. We stayed here for one evening on a two day snowboarding trip and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Check-in was quick and easy. Tanner and the staff went out of their way to make sure our experience was perfect. From wine tasting in the afternoon to the delicious breakfast the next morning, they truly pulled out all of the stops. Our room was large and comfortable with everything we could need and the hotel was perfectly situated in short walking distance from Downtown Shasta. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you for having us!

Yelp
Strawberry Valley Inn exceeded our expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly, the hotel grounds are charming & well maintained. Our King Suite was spacious, clean and had lovely decor. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the dining area cozy & welcoming. We cannot wait to return.

Sarah D.

Yelp
Our stay was full of amenities, including friendly service and a yummy continental breakfast (the fresh made waffles were a hit with Val). Beautiful decor. 1920s style. They helped us find a great bookstore! The only drawback was a heater that made noise, but the beds were very comfortable and made up for it. Thank you to the staff who was outstanding!

Linda K.

Yelp
Brian was a great host. The service was great. Hotel was cozy. We loved the grounds. Relaxing quiet. Wine tasting was fun. A great experience. The staff went out of their way to please. We will be back for sure.

Ryoko C.

Yelp
I stayed for 2 nights expecting for 4 star experience but it didn't do it for me. The room was clean but they put some kind of fragrance and it was so strong. I had to open the door and window. Breakfast was same on both days and a young lady who was very nice made "strawberry" waffle. I had to look for so call strawberry in the waffle. I am sorry to write this but I am also disappointed for the amount I paid.
