Art and Culture in Amsterdam

"Aside from an office maintained for legal reasons (and as a base for student interns), this contemporary eco-museum has no walls to contain its growing collection of some 200 artworks by internationally acclaimed street artists. View much of it on a private or group tour following a 2.5-mile route through Amsterdam’s gentrifying Nieuw-West. Led by knowledgeable, local guides, the two-hour circuits take you to a range of open-air artistry on buildings and sidewalks, combined with stories about immigration, inclusion, and environmental justice." - MATADOR_NETWORK

I bought tickets in advance since this museum was a must-see for me while I was in Amsterdam. My friends and I loved it! The art was diverse, colorful, and profound. It was such a treat to be among so much creativity. The gift shop was great too and they sell some great souvenirs. It was a wonderful experience.

WAW WAW WAW! Those arts inside this museum are just WAW... I was completely speechless.. you realize how street art is rich in colour, in story, in life... I recommend this museum 10000%. And there's a café super nice inside and outside there are plenty of arts as Amsterdam is the best city in the world and grafitti is allowed there. To get there, you can go to the Central Station, and get a free ferry called NSDM and visit this AMAZING museum! Thank you to ALL and EACH artist that shared their art with us!

I discovered this place through a YouTube video that listed it as one of the top things to do in Amsterdam, so I decided to check it out. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The commute took nearly two hours round-trip, and in hindsight, it really wasn’t worth the time and effort. The concept sounded interesting—scattered art installations throughout the area—but in reality, they were poorly marked and quite hard to locate. There’s a QR code available when you arrive that directs you to an app meant to guide you through the experience, but even with that, it was confusing and not very engaging. The app didn’t add much value and felt more like a gimmick than a helpful tool. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. Unless you’re already in the area and have extra time to kill, I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to visit. There are plenty of other attractions in Amsterdam that are more accessible and worthwhile.

THIS LOCATION IS NOT A MUSEUM! The address will take you to a random house that is not the location of any street art. Check out my pictures for where some of the art can be found. If you’re into street art and graffiti you won’t mind the scavenger hunt to find these. Otherwise be sure to either come with a tour guide or check out the actual museum.

I really enjoyed this street art museum. The concept is a little bit confusing at first and requires you do download an app and follow a map to locate street art. The pieces have very varying quality, but that was fine since some of the pieces were really impressive and interesting. Definitely do this on a day without rain so you can just enjoy biking around and looking at art. Also read the descriptions in the app, I'm not really big on museums but they certainly elevated some of the pieces and made it clear how much thought went into them.

There’s no museum. So don’t walk around looking for a museum building. You just walk around the streets and admire the works.

Google
This is a free walking tour that I think would have been really great but the app that was used was very difficult to use. I need up giving up after making it to the first art piece as I could not get the app to work. If I could suggest just give people a map and ask for a donation to fund the museum.

Excellent display of amazing street art. Really varied styles, some just fun, some with a message attached, make of it what you will. Lovely cafe. Worth the 20 euros entry.
