On the Grid : KARAVÁN

"The first – but not last – street-food court in town gives off festival-like vibes due to its nature as a community garden. Two rows of food trucks serve up a pretty impressive selection to choose from: juicy burgers, cheese soups spiced up with bacon, additive-free artisanal popsicles served during summertime, vegan wraps and pastas, and even get coffee prepared in a Vespa-like vehicle. This convoy stands in one place all year long to serve the needs of hungry urban wanderers." - We Love Budapest

Awesome street carts festival vibes. Food is good, atmosphere even better. Unfortunately it is very overpriced and definitely a tourist trap. If you cant find anything else open at night, it is very well worth a visit as you'll find multiple types of food in one spot.

I loved it here. I really recommend coming here. The food is really good. The people working here are very friendly and the place overall looks and feels great. I went to the first burger place on the right and ordered some sides. They were really good (I recommend their garlic sauce, it is really good). It is not very big but even for a drink or a small bite this place great

The Karavan has a lot of options to choose from. A bit pricey but the food is good. Friendly service but during lunch time there's less seats open.

Visited on a sunny afternoon, and the air was filled with the tempting aromas of countless food stalls and eateries. The place was buzzing with energy, clearly a popular spot for both tourists and locals alike. I opted for an ice-cold Hoegaarden beer, which was the perfect refreshment while soaking in the lively atmosphere. Although I didn’t try the food this time, I couldn’t help but notice that the prices were on the higher side—something you’d expect at such a vibrant street food hub. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and a great place to people-watch with a drink in hand. On my next visit, I’ll definitely be sampling some of the culinary delights on offer.

Street Food Karaván is a lively food court in Budapest, perfect for trying a variety of dishes. From Hungarian classics like lángos and goulash to burgers, vegan options, and sweet treats, there’s something for everyone. The drinks menu is just as good with refreshing beverages and tasty cocktails to enjoy alongside your meal. The outdoor seating and bustling atmosphere make it a fun spot to hang out, whether you’re with friends or exploring solo. A great place to enjoy good food, drinks, and the local vibe, and an ideal stop before heading to the nearby ruin bars.

This place has a great atmosphere. It’s quite crowded on Saturday evenings, but that’s to be expected from such a funky spot. There’s also a great bar right next door. The food is a bit pricey, but we really enjoyed the taste — classic street food. I recommend visiting.

Decent little setting, not the best street food in the world. Edinburgh street food market is the best I've been too. But universally street food is good, not a huge amount of options but a decent selection of Hungarian dishes to more common foods like burger, chicken etc. If that's what you prefer.

Food was mediocre, high priced and disappointing. We had classic Lagos which was dry and felt microwave reheated and fries which were flavourless with an okay cheese. The beer was good, at least! And the bartender super friendly. Won't recommend to anyone who's looking to get decent food.
