Overall: 7.8/10 Just a heads-up, I have a very "American" palate and haven't ventured too far into traditional Asian spices, so keep that in mind. If you want a more expert take on the flavors, definitely check the reviews from the Chinese locals. Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was fun with Chinese music playing. My only complaint about the vibe was that the floor was a little wet, which I didn't love. I ordered q bunch of the skewers: • Beef Artery (6/10): Tasted okay but was a little rubbery, and the spices weren't really for me. • Chicken Gizzard (6.5/10): Similar texture to the artery but with a better taste. • Chicken Bites (6.5/10): Didn't have much flavor. • Pork Knee (7/10): Very crunchy but tasty. • Honey Lamb Rib (7.5/10): Pretty flavorful. • Teriyaki Beef (8/10): This one was really tasty. The Stir-fried Shredded Dough with eggs and pork (8/10) was great. It’s huge and could easily be a shared main dish for only 15 bucks. We made the mistake of ordering it after all the skewers and underestimated the size. For dessert, the Deep Fried Rice Dough with brown sugar (8.5/10) was delicious and they give you a lot. Just be careful, I pulverized my tongue trying to eat it hot, but that’s on me. The Bathroom (7.5/10): Small but clean.

Came on a Tuesday night at 8pm and thankfully my friend booked a reso for 5 people. We ordered an assortment of skewers and everything was delicious. My favorites were the lamb shoulder which wasn't gamey and the scallops. Even though we requested mild, some dishes like the chicken skin were a bit spicy. Also beer is super cheap at $13 pitcher! Compared to Ten Mile and Chat Bar this place is better. Would recommend and can't wait to Come back.

We were craving skewers and came here for skewers! Great selection of skewers at very reasonable prices. Everything was pretty delicious including their side dishes such as Sweet and Sour Pork. Interior was smaller than the North York location but very nice with a small fish tank area in the middle of the restaurant. Was not the biggest fan of some of their late night special items but would come back for everything else. Service was lso very attentive and quick. This place was very busy on a weeknight and probably even more busy on weekends so would recommend making a reservations.

Loved everything we ordered. Especially the garlic scallops, pork riblets with salty egg yolk and the mussels, clams and surf clam with chili sweet oyster sauce. Skewers were well seasoned. Definitely a good place to hang out with friends and drink some beer! Would go back for sure

The food Is like it's name! My first bite, instantly, I had my childhood memories where I finished school and bought a few street BBQ to mange on the way home. The spices are just enough but not overtaking meat flavors. The seascollp dish along with the eggplant dish are must orders too. Been three times, the first time and the second time I had to dig in the food and forgot to take any pictures. The decor is awesome too!

We came here on a Friday after work with a group of 6 people. We arrived early and didn't have a reservation. If you want to try Chinese food, this is the ideal place. Great place to share food with a group of people. I enjoyed trying lots of new flavours and dishes. The drinks were good as well.

They have really good Chinese skewers. I particularly liked the pork belly, crispy chicken, jumbo shrimp, scallops, beef short ribs, and oyster mushrooms. Their sweet and sour pork was quite unique as well. The interior is quite nice as well. Will be back! They offer a 10% discount if you pay with cash, so bring cash

Busy spot with a bit of a wait if you go at peak times. Meat skewer portions are on the smaller side, most interesting dish to try is the sweet and sour pork. It’s not like the westernized version and is more sweet and crispy with larger pieces. Most things are spicy but you can adjust spice level. There’s a 10% cash discount so pay with cash.

In the burgeoning Chinese BBQ and Beer scene Street Grill Bar is tops! All you need to do is hang around the Baldwin strip like me and you will notice it as being packed every night. That's because of value and quality. Check out that deal on skewers, $3.99 for lamb, sign me up! And a pitcher of beer for $7.99 wowsers! It doesn't get any better than that. And on top of that the place is well run (not only cuz my friend works BOH either), clean and has great aesthetics. That special last time I checked was from Sunday to Thursday and I'm not sure of the hours but I'm sure you'll figure that part out. A few foodie friends already knew about it as soon as I mention it, like the guy running Tiger Bar across the street, he goes "oh we just ate there last night, love those little spicy clams" etc etc, as well as my friend Ping at Cheese Magic, they all seem to know. So what are YOU waiting for, go check this place out, they are the good ones there working for you!

We absolutely love this place! This is their location downtown. Super convenient on the popular Baldwin st. They offer a Chinese and English menu. Their skewers are well priced and delicious. My favorites are beef chuck, squid and lamb shoulder. Their beef sirloin may look attractive at 10 pcs per order but it's a small thin piece per skewer. The beef chuck is chewy slightly fatty and tasty.. but the fat is rendered down so it tastes good! Their squid is my favorite as well because it's seasoned well, good size tentacle and cooked well. Lamb and chicken are also classic must tries. There is a good amount of spice and fattiness w the lamb shoulder just enough to cover the gamey taste. All skewers come grilled and they leave it on a hot plate to keep it warm as you enjoy. The price is right for the portion size and it's easy to share with friends because they give multiple skewers per order unlike other places. Service is also excellent and the ambiance is nice with gray walls and black and wooden elements. Ps (haven't tried it myself but) if you come late at night they have specials!!

Street Grill is by far my favourite Chinese skewer spot in Toronto and I visit their North York location often. So when I saw that they opened downtown Toronto on Baldwin I had to check it out. There was a wait and they give you a call once your table is ready. Don't be fooled here though, their menu is different than the North York location. A lot less options to choose from especially when it comes to their drinks. My favourite passionfruit corona slushie drink was not available at this location, but I found that they had a lot more mixed cocktails. I came back twice within 2 months and the second time around, they changed the ingredients/ taste of the drink I had the first time here and it was not it. Here's what we got: Jasmine Cucumber Gimlet 1/5 - First time I visited this location this drink was okay. Second time I came back the drink was very sweet and not to my palette. When explained to the server, they were very nice to try to fix the drink, but it really just came back more watered down. Not sure what changed within the two months of having this drink but it's a definite skip for me. Lamb skewers 5/5 Beef chuck 5/5 Chicken cartilage 5/5 Chicken skin 5/5 - All these above skewers were amazing and hit the spot with the bbq taste. Cooked to perfection, juicy and delicious. Town famous sweet and sour pork 5/5 - A must get! This was super crispy with the right amount of sweet and sour sauce. Great for sharing. Cold wheat noodle soup with braised beef shank 5/5 - A refreshing noodle dish that are great bites in between the meat skewers. Garlic scallops with vermicelli 5/5 - My absolute favourite. It comes in 2 per order, and with a mountain of vermicelli noodles. Overall still a great meal and spot to check out. However, I definitely prefer their North York location more.

This is their second location. A big difference is that this location has a full bar but the first location has no bar. We ordered the following: 1. Royal Prayer Cocktail 2. Tang On Rose Cocktail 3. Lamb Shoulder Skewers (4 pcs) ($6.99). 4. Teriyaki Beef w/ Tendon Skewers (4 pcs) ($6.99). 5. Pork Knee Knuckle Skewers (4 pcs) ($6.99). 6. Teriyaki Chicken Wing Skewers (2 pcs) ($6.99). 7. Pineapple Skewers (2 pcs) ($4.99). 8. Garlic Eggplant (1 pc) ($5.99). 9. Puffy Deep Fried Shrimps & Fries ($12.99). 10. Town Famous Sweet & Sour Pork ($17.99). 11. Flaming Custard Sweet Potato ($7.99). The customer service was excellent and attentive. For all their cocktails, they infused a flower with the alcohol so that the alcohol has a floral taste. My wife loved the Tang On Rose. The Royal Prayer was quite strong but she could handle it. The skewers were charcoal BBQed. Of all the skewers, I liked the Teriyaki Beef w/ Tendon and Lamb Shoulder the most. My wife liked the Pork Knee Knuckle the best. The Pineapple Skewers were so juicy! The eggplant of the Garlic Eggplant was good but I found the garlic portion spicy. The Fried Shrimp and Sweet & Sour Pork were quite good. The Flaming Custard Sweet Potato was quite a spectacle to watch as they light it at the table! The dish is Sweet Potato topped by Creme Brulee, a good combination! The vibe was quite nice. I like the little rectangular fish tank that is raised from the floor in the middle of the restaurant. There are many tables of different sizes and a few counter seats at the bar. They opened on 2025-03-13. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible (there are 2 steps at the entrance); the patio is wheelchair accessible when available.
