One of my top-listed skewer restaurants in Toronto! The interior design is stunning and full of character, every detail feels thoughtful and beautifully designed. From the warm wooden counter to the soft, classic Chinese-style lighting, the atmosphere is stylish and full of good vibes. The skewers were fantastic, perfectly grilled with that delicious smoky aroma and juicy flavor, plus the portions are generous. They also offer some really unique specialty drinks! I ordered a passion fruit special, and it was not only super refreshing but also beautifully presented, such a lovely surprise and perfectly matched with the skewers. The service was excellent, and the staff were all friendly and attentive, especially the male manager, who was incredibly polite, welcoming, and professional. His warm attitude truly made the whole experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and atmosphere you get. Great spot hanging out with friends and family, this place is a true hidden gem. Definitely coming back again soon!

I'm not a big skewer fan but my friends love it, so I tend to eat the other things. I'm glad this place has really good "other things". It's a bit pricier compared to the older skewer places like Fuji or One+One/5885 but the decor is a lot more contemporary and they have some unique dishes you can't get elsewhere. I liked the pumpkin mochi dessert. They didn't have as expansive of a menu as other places so I was a bit sad I couldn't get my usual button mushrooms or fried bread with condensed milk. The enoki mushrooms were good so we ordered another one but then it was way too salty lol, so they need to work on their seasoning. They also took allergies seriously bc they asked if we had any allergies before they submitted our order. I found out after that the cucumber dish we got was supposed to have peanuts on it but they didn't add them bc I was allergic lol. Also it's best to come here with people who can speak/read Chinese (mando preferably) since the menu is only in Chinese. Seating was a bit uncomfortable and we were sat right by the door so every time people opened the doors, it would be freezing. We arrived at 7:20 and waited for a table until 8:00 on a Friday night. This was after a friend called beforehand to put us on the waitlist, but another friend who said he tried to call said his call never went through so you just have to keep calling bc their phone is always busy.

Food was good but skewers came a bit cold, I would not recommend coming here without a reservation as the wait was around 40mins after 10pm. Staff have a hard time speaking English but great selection of skewers. They some nice selection of drink options and ordering from an QR code was convenient. Unfortunately, some of the items were also sold out during my visit. Would try again.

Absolutely delicious! The skewers were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The chili oil looks intense but is actually beautifully balanced, aromatic, and addictive without being overwhelming. The dried chilies, scallions, and sesame add great texture and fragrance. Portions are generous and the presentation is clean and appetizing. You can really tell care goes into the food. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend this place!

Been here twice now. The first time we arrived early at 5pm on a Saturday and was seated right away. Shortly afterwards there was a line up. The second time was on a Tuesday at 6pm and we waited about 30min for a table of 4. They only take reservations for a party of 6 or more. Smaller than that, it’s first come first serve. You leave your name and number with the host and an actual human calls your mobile when the table is ready. Nice old school touch. The skewers are good. Some better than others. The chicken feet seasoning and texture were not to my liking the other skewers are good. Some of the meat on our second visit was a bit tough. The spice level is not spicy. Scallop vermicelli and beef dumplings are meh. Really like the spicy chilled jelly noodles I could eat the whole bowl myself. 😋 The stir fried shredded dough with egg and pork is also very good. For $40/person it’s a bit on the price side for what you get. It also gets quite loud since they are so busy. Service is good.

Google
the food was amazing - very flavourful and delicious. Cocktails were refreshing and paired great with the food downside being the wait time, waited for close to 2 hours during peak hour for 2 people as they don’t accept reservation for less than 6 people. would recommend avoiding peak hours

Google
One of the best Chinese Skewers in the GTA Rich authentic taste where you can choose the spicy level (recommend regular) Lamb, Beef, Cabbage Skewers tasted great and fresh Wide variety of drinks to choose from the extra large cooler

Daryl

Google
They have a wide variety of skewers and food options. I noticed that they have a larger variety of food options than their downtown location. For example, this location has garlic clams and vermicelli, but the downtown location doesn’t. Also oddly, their mushrooms are cooked differently at this location from the downtown location. The downtown location deep fries their mushrooms which I prefer. This location’s mushrooms were a bit soggy. Overall it’s inconsistent between the two locations, which I find odd.

Yelp
such a fun vibe here! it's great for big groups and friend gatherings for drinking. My favorite skewers were the lamb, chicken heart & chicken gizzard. the cabbage is also phenomenal & highly recommend that. For drinks, I got the lychee coronita which is massive & can last you the whole night. The servers are quite busy so the service is meh but it's still fine.

Yelp
Venue: 4/5 Street Grill is tucked into a corner spot in the no frills plaza near Seneca (beside the Service Ontario), so it's pretty easy to find and convenient if you're in the area. Since it's open late, it draws a lot of international students and late-night crowds, which is great for the energy, but it can definitely get noisy at peak hours. That said, there's plenty of space and it works really well for larger groups. Service: 5/5 Service was excellent. The staff were friendly, informative, and actually helpful when it came to explaining menu items and specials. Even when it got busy, they kept things moving and made sure the tables were cleared. They also speak Cantonese and Mandarin. Menu is in both Chinese and English. Food: 4/5 Portions are generous, and they've got solid beer and drink options to offer. The late-night specials on certain meats are a nice bonus, especially if you're coming in after usual dinner hours. Overall, great experience and a reliable late-night option uptown (last call 1h before close). You can also choose spice level for some of the skewer options and sharing is encouraged!

Yelp
Be prepared for a bit of a wait when you come here. Even with a reservation, we had to wait an extra 30+ minutes. It's quite noisy and popular here. Food was quite oily here so just be prepared for that. We tried a few dishes and I'll go into detail below. I love that we can ask for the spice mix on the side to dip the meat into. Here's the breakdown with skewers first and side dishes last: Teriyaki beef skewers 5/5 - lovely and sweet! Very meaty and loved the sweet spices on top. Reminds me of those sweet little taiwanese sausages. Lamb Skewers 3/5 - really small pieces of lamb and more fat than meat. Didn't have a strong lamb flavour, but the spices were nice. Beef chuck 4/5 - meaty and well seasoned. Nothing special Pork belly (I won't rate this cause personally, I can't handle how fat it is) - tasted fine but I will say these were very tiny pieces Pork sichuan 2/5 - not really much in the spice department and meat was very small again Cold noodles with braised beef 10/5 - I LOVED THIS! Super chewy noodles in a refreshing, vinegar-y light and cold broth. This was so yummy I could order this over and over. I would come here to literally eat this and I was sad we had to share it haha! Fried dough with cabbage 5/5 - this tasted like shanghai fried noodles to me, but with a chewier texture. It was lovely, but it is very oily. Garlic eggplant 4/5 - SUPER oily but tastes yummy. With a MOUNTAIN of garlic on it, you may feel things later that night haha. But it was delish. I wouldn't say I tasted anything all that special and it was a very small eggplant for the price. Over all the value was okay. I think they could provide more meat and less fat pieces and give you more to eat on each skewer. Feels a bit skimped out on. The side dishes were bang on. I would say that if I did want to come back, I'd order a side or noodle to eat as a main and skewer maybe as a snack. I think most people come to eat mainly skewers and everything else as a side. Would definitely be open to coming back if I don't need to wait as long.

Yelp
Located in a stripped mall wasn't expecting that parking would be that full and the place is packed with people. Came by around 6:30 pm but was not able to get a table till 8:15 pm been waiting for almost 2 hrs because the host is jumping the lines. He noticed that I knew what was happening so he trietto bribe us with drinks on the house. Food is good nothing from the ordinary tasty smokey and not too oily. I find the food very pricey you can judge by the photos I have added for 4 skewers it's approx $12. The sweet n sour pork is good but with paper thin meat. It's a drinking hole or a dating place not recommended for a quiet family dinner.

Yelp
Great skewers, great food, great vibes. Crazy wait though. You've got to check this place out. There's nothing super unique about the menu but everything is just executed really well. Will be back.

Yelp
I loved coming here for skewers! My cousins frequent this place almost every week and I loved getting to try it out. Their chicken and pork belly skewers were amazing! I also loved their spicy clams from here, they are a popular favorite here!

Yelp
Unbeatable value and taste for a Chinese skewer place in the GTA. This is as close to $1 a skewer you'll get, and for decently sized meaty skewers as well. It's tucked away in a nondescript plaza in the Finch and Don Mills area, but once you walk in you're transported to a different place. The renovations are very hip and there was a busy vibe despite my visit being on a Monday evening. We went a bit crazy with the order, since everything was single digit prices except the veggies. For example, the lamb skewers were $6.99 for 4 - a great deal, and super delicious. I'd definitely recommend the cabbage (everyone was ordering it) and eggplant for side dishes. We spent $45 each inclusive of tax and tip, which is great considering the amount of food and drink that we ordered. Definitely could scale back next time. They have a decently generous cash discount.

Yelp
Fantastic skewer bbq! Busy place with a long wait time even though they have two floors for seating. The ribeye beef tendon was seasoned really nicely. The juicy chicken pieces were crispy, tasty, meaty and definitely juicy! Their lamb shoulder was slightly crunchy but meaty. All their skewers were seasoned well and you can ask for different spicy levels. Their stews are huge and a good portion size! They bring out each item slowly. Their side dish foil packets are also good portion sized with heavy garlic flavors. There are so many items on the menu, I would go back with a larger group to try more items! Ps they have birthday specials!

Yelp
I've been here four times now, and it's definitely one of my go-to BBQ places! While the food is always great, the only downside is the long wait time since they don't take reservations unless you're with a large group. Tip: arrive early to avoid the rush! Food Highlights & Must-Try Dishes: Cold Noodles - Great texture and super refreshing; helps balance out the salt and spice. Spicy Clams - Full of flavor and a generous portion for the price. Cabbage - Simple, well-seasoned, and surprisingly tasty. Shrimp Skewers - Always a crowd favorite. Crispy Buns - Crunchy, flavorful, and definitely a must-try. Drinks - We had two small cocktails and a large party drink. The alcohol isn't too strong--tastes more like iced tea, which makes them really easy to enjoy. The skewers are heavily seasoned, so if you're sensitive to salt, ask for less seasoning. If you don't eat spicy, make sure to let them know in advance. Add cold sides or drinks to help balance out the bold flavors. Also, the corn Cheese with Candied Sprinkles & Raisins was... interesting (I didn't like it). The mix of sweet and savory didn't work for me. If you're curious, eat it hot it becomes chewy and overly sweet once it cools down. Not bad overall! Give it try!

Yelp
One of the best Chinese BBQ place around North York. The atmosphere is modern and clean, and the waiters are very nice. The cold noodles is one of the best in the Toronto area and is one of my favorite dish.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the skewers in this place. My 3rd time at street grill North York and it never disappoints. Their service was great as they have a lot of workers and they are usually very fast and efficient. The food has stayed consistently good every time I go. The environment is wonderful, reminiscing of when you go back to China for some authentic bbq skewers!
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is pretty awesome. All the skewers we got were very tasty. They give you a warming plate to keep the skewers and food hot while you eat which is nice. The service was also very good and fast. The place gets very busy and they don't take reservations so try to call ahead to get on the wait list. Our favorite dishes were the lamb skewers and scallops with noodles in the shell.

Yelp
How have I not heard of this place earlier? So delicious! This place is so good that I've already been back twice within two weeks! A Chinese skewers place with a huge variety of other food items that aren't your typical skewered meat as well. The place is LOUD so make sure to prep your eardrums. Larger parties get seated on the second floor which is very warm and extra loud with the music. The servers speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English, making it easy for ordering. They also have a Chinese and English menu, you can ask for whichever one you'd like. Upon entering, you'll notice their large fridges with a large variety of drinks so make sure to check it out! The food here is absolutely delicious with all dishes having distinct flavours and textures. Some things that I loved: Tofu & preserved egg 5/5 - Looks super red and spicy but it's surprisingly not spicy at all. It has a vinegary sauce which is a great app/ starter. Lamb skewers & beef skewers 5/5 - Both perfectly seasoned and delicious. Spicy clams 5/5 - It's $30 for the plate, but the plate is huge! Comes with a lot of meaty clams and great for sharing. Cold noodle 5/5 - Super refreshing noodle dish that has a soury soup base. Passionfruit slush with corona 5/5 - This drink was like drinking a passionfruit slush bbt. It comes with a mini corona bottle flipped upside down + a shot of liquor. You can't taste the alcohol at all in this drink since the slush is so delicious. Chicken skin 5/5 - Super crispy but not at all fatty tasting. One of my favourite items! The wait times here are long so make sure to make a reservation in advance. Reservations are only available for tables 6 or more so make sure to round up your friends to experience a flavour explosion in your mouth!
google avatar

Yelp
Fairly new spot, and extremely busy. Heard the wait times, without a reservation could be 2-3 hours, and they only take resos for parties of 6+. English menu doesn't have the thumbs up/recommended items, so maybe consult both if you can. Ordered a lemon highball tower (3L), a bunch of skewers, eggplant, tofu+century egg, sweet and sour pork. All the food was really good, and very tasty. Word of warning though, anything that's "mala" or numbing spicy, was quite spicy, much more so than all the other stuff. I liked how the skewers didn't all taste the same. There's a variety of seasonings for different meats/cuts. Price was reasonable and service was pretty good. Would try and come back, but not if I have to wait 2-3 hours..

Yelp
Street Grill serves delicious barbecue, especially the grilled pork intestine, which is tender and full of flavor. Their stir-fried flatbread strips, a traditional northern Chinese dish, taste just like my mother used to make. The beverages are refreshing, with a great logo design, and the restaurant's vibe feels just like my hometown.

Yelp
. we often come here after work for late dinners with everyone (around 11-1:30am) . always super welcoming and ready to serve our normally big tables . food comes out fast and servers are very accommodating . my table is usually loud so appreciate the nice open environment . the interior is really prettty i especially like the little second floor for more privacy etc . food is okay mostly on the spicer side (i cant handle spicy) so im always here to test my taste buds . if my coworkers always come back then this place got to mean something right . also their cocktails are yum! on the juicier side dont even taste the alch :)

Yelp
Has it gotten more oily? A lot of their house dishes are soo greasy. A lot of their seafood options have sand in them. Are they being cleaned properly? Some skewers felt rather dry like their pork belly. This used to be my favourite skewers restaurant but perhaps they have fallen off their game? Service wise is still really good other than their reservations option still doesn't make any sense to me.
google avatar

Yelp
Brand new skewer spot inside Skymark Place Shopping centre beside Service Ontario. The pork skewers were flavourful and tasty. I enjoyed the pork over the beef. I prefer a little dry on the outside. They have an item that is bean curd wrapped with ham and onions inside. Unique and tasty. It's busy so the service was a little slow. The drinks you order from scanning the QR code. It might show the item out of stock but it is in the fridge and available. Doesn't hurt to look at the fridge or ask the waiter. Overall a good experience. I will come back!

Yelp
Best Chinese grill/skewer barbecue place I've ever been so far in Toronto. Worth every penny and u could unlikely get anything taste bad from the menu. Shout out to its 锅包肉. Definitely best in town.

Yelp
New skewer spot in the neighborhood and you can smell the pleasant aroma from outside the restaurant in the plaza. It is quite spacious inside but they fill up quickly and has a bit of a wait time (2-3 hours usually). We were lucky to get a spot for table for 5 on a weekday at 7pm when another table was no show. When seated, you get a sheet of paper to mark down your order (similar to dim sum spots) and they have both Chinese and English versions. We ordered an assortment of skewers. The food arrives pretty quickly and the servers pile on the skewers on a mini grill in front of you that has a fire to keep them warm. You can request extra chili powder on the side for dipping for that extra kick! My favourites of the night were definitely the cabbage, pork intestine, and chicken cartilage. The okra and oyster mushroom ones were pretty good too! The lamb and beef ones were decent but perhaps a bit too heavily seasoned. After a while, everything kinda tasted the same and heavily cumin... But no worries, they have an extensive drink menu (scan the QR code at table to order) featuring alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We also got a cold noodle that was a bit sour from the vinegar and it helped to cut out the grease from all the skewers haha. Can not wait to come back again to try other noodle dishes and more skewers!!

Yelp
A new Chinese skewer spot that I absolutely loved. The ambiance was bright and clean, which is usually tough to maintain for barbecue spots. If they are able to keep it up, it will be perfect. Our server was also welcoming and attentive. The food is what really impressed me. The skewers were also so juicy when served to our table. I recommend their squid, wings and any beef skewers. I will come back to try getting some of their drinks and more seafood.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best skewer places I've been to - vibes are immaculate, very lively, lots of fun. The drinks fridge is huge and there are lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. There are some cool drink towers where they tip different types of beer into a single drink - looks and tastes pretty cool. Skewer choices are massive (provide english and chinese menu). You can indicate spice levels and any allergies, so our nut allergic friend feels pretty safe here. all the skewers are very tasty, we haven't come across any that we would not order again. It does get confusing which skewer is which, but meat quality and the taste is really good. My personal fav is the chicken skin.
google avatar

Lily C.

Yelp
Checked out this new skewers place after the gym to celebrate a birthday. Pretty lively restaurant and well lit. The skewers we ordered was super good and so was most of the hot dishes we ordered. The only down fall I found was their drink towers, really watered down and way too much ice . The workers there super nice and friendly, mainly mandarin speakers though.

Yelp
Delicious food but Noise environment. If you wanna talk with someone, pls reconsider it.

Yelp
New favourite late night spot! The slushie drinks with the Corona are amazing! Mango and Lychee are probably the best!

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! We made a reservation for a large party of 8. It was our first time there and right after we got seated the server asked if we wanted to order their best seller which takes some time to prepare. We weren't even really sure what it was but why not since we have a large group, let's try it! Turns out it was a sweet and sour meat dish which was not bad. Skewers were pretty good. We also got the scallop on shell with garlic and glass noodles which was really good (a must). They have a huge menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Even the fried mochi with brown sugar dessert was good. Overall would recommend trying if you haven't! Make reservations in advance though!

Yelp
every other skewer place can move aside because I will be going to street grill from now on. it has all of the beer towers and cocktails you could ever want from a chinese skewer restaurant. and the best part? insanely well priced and even better after 10pm sun-thurs. admittedly, it was really hot and loud in the upper section but i guess it just adds to the street vibe PSA: 10% off for cash payment
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Hands down the best chinese skewer/bbq place around! I always get a wide variety of skewers and the spicy garlic clams is definitely a must, it's only around 20ish bucks for a large portion. Cool cocktails and beer towers, vibe for drinks and food is really good. Service is decent considering how it's always packed even on weekdays. This place you should always make a reservation before hand, you'll most likely be waiting 1-2 hrs for a table even on weekdays.
google avatar

Yelp
Made reservations to come here with a group of friends. The vibe of the restaurant is pretty cool. Skewers are a must. The scallops with garlic and vermicelli was a group favourite. Had a good time.

Yelp
Out of all the Chinese bbq in the gta this takes my number 1 spot. Each dish has a unique flavour and spices unlike others where it uses the same seasoning for all. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing and I like the design of this place. The lighting are perfect. The service was excellent and if you ask for anything they respond very quick. There are many different kind of drinks and not expensive. The focus is very good too. I rarely give 5 stars but this place I will since everything are right!!
