Small business owned and and operated by San Francisco and Russian Hill owners! A true gem! The spicy mezcal-rita is delicious - spicy and smokey. Decent selection of beers on tap, although could be better. For food - I ordered the calamari po’boy, but was eyeing the truffle ravioli. The po’boy was a good choice, coleslaw, aioli, crisp calamari - very tasty. The burger was cooked perfectly and generous size patty. My only complaint is that it comes plain. Everything is extra, cheese $2, mushrooms $2, fries, etc, etc. Ketchup and mustard were offered, but some additional sauces would be nice as well as some specialty burger options where you don’t have to build your own. Parking in the neighborhood is decent. Very walkable area with lots to do. The owners are A’s fans, so a good spot to watch them, although they’ll put on something else on request.

We had the Bolognese Pasta and the Ravioli, both tasted exceptional. For the first time on our 5 week Trip we had real Italian pasta feeling. Service was fast and friendly.

I stumbled upon this place on accident when looking for a drink on my way to another location. Ordered an heirloom tomato dish that had amazing flavors and paired with goat cheese. The tomatoes were so ripe they were just fantastic. This place had a lot of charm and the family running it has a lot of pride in the work they are doing. I was surprised it wasn't more busy. Felt like I found a nice hidden gem with great food options. I hope it doesn't feel as hidden in the future. I will be back next time I'm in town.

A nice atmosphere and staff. Very good food with generous plates. They serve one of the best Crème brûlée in the States, it equals with no doubt the ones you can eat in France.

Highly recommended. I search for a dinner and walk myself to this. The salmon is very crispy and tasty, the service is better than expected, I don't remember the name of the girl who served me, but she is very friendly and lovely. The asmosphere is a good combination of good dining restaurant and bar. Love to come here when I visit San Francisco next time.

I ordered a beer and some food. However I lost my appetite after seeing the rats on the place.

The ribs. The St.Louis ribs were amazing! Granted that each of us has our own likes, dislikes, and preferences about food, these were some of the best ribs I've ever had - so tender and dreamily easy to coax off the bone ... and the sauce (homemade by chef) was like a sensational peppery kiss. Another family member ordered the dunganess crab, dayboat scallop and shrimp cakes with sriracha lime sauce (not very spicy) - he loved it. Fries and coleslaw were above average but not superlative, but main part of our entrees was. Server was really friendly (but not invasive), helpful and efficient. Chose outdoor seating - it was comfortable and upheld Covid guidelines.

Great neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly, good ambience and awesome food.

Can't say that I recommend the spot with so many other restaurants in the area. Calamari - 7/10 - Pretty good appetizer, was crunchy and came with a yummy sweet and sour sauce w some shredded carrots in it. Meatloaf - 3/10 - pretty bad. I was in the mood for something reminiscent of a home cooked meal and the waitress swore that it was delicious. Spoiler, it's not. Definitely a skip. Everything was bland. Chicken sandwich did look yummy but I did not try it.

The food and service here is always excellent! They make the best Mac and cheese I have ever had. Filling salads, wonderful stews, and creative cocktails. The inside is very pleasant and it looks like they have rotating art which is always fun to see. Mellow crowd and fabulous servers. Would recommend all items on the menu!

Still love this place. Been here 11 years now. The bar seating is the best. Fig martini still good. Our favorite dishes are - spicy hummus - black truffle ravioli - any of the soups Always good - chicory salad - shrimp linguini. They can do it without the clams - fried chicken on sundays - burger is always solid Everything is consistent. Just love meeting people at the bar and have comfort food. Highly recommend.

Disgusting food- we ordered the steak, salmon, the burger and the fried chicken sandwich all the food was gross. We had one bite of the steak and salmon and couldn't take a second bite and the burger and chicken sandwich were just barely edible. The fries tasted like dehydrated frozen potatoes and the ambience has gone down hill. Too bad- this used to be a local fave for me. Wont ever go back. So many other options in the neighborbood!

My boyfriend and I decided to walk down Polk to find a spot to eat dinner at. When we saw Street and read some of the reviews we were really excited to give it a try. For an appetizer both waiters recommended the Brussels sprouts - these were okay in our opinion. They weren't as crunchy as we thought with the bread crumbs and were masked by a lot of Parmesan. For the main course we ordered the shrimp and clam linguini and the beef, pork, porcini bolognese. The pasta that came with my bolognese was very unique, like a flattened penne, however the sauce was very good! The shrimp and clam linguini sauce was very thin and a little watery (not as winey). Overall we didn't think the food was bad but we weren't as impressed. There were other things on the menu that definitely caught our attention. I think if we were to come back we'd be interested in trying the steak and the burger.

Came in for drinks and dessert for a birthday. It wasn't busy so we were sat right away. We ordered a couple desserts and all came out quickly. They were tasty as well. We were just having a little fun and played a birthday song for our friend from our phone. Unfortunately, the owner did not like that and came by the table and rudely said "I will decide what music is played here!" Completely rude and such an unacceptable way to treat your patrons. Have a little class, sir! We were merely celebrating a good time and played a song for literally 10 seconds. It did not have to be that serious. In addition, please learn how to treat your customers without being a pompous asshole!

Street Restaurant is hands-down the number one "bang for your buck" absolutely delicious casual dinner you can find in the entire city of San Francisco! As a former restaurant fine dining manager, and someone who has lived in several parts of the city, I feel so lucky to have this as my neighborhood restaurant in the Russian Hill area. Absolutely the best New York steak you can find in San Francisco and you will be left speechless by how ridiculously affordable the price is. The homemade mushroom ravioli is so good, I could absolutely lick my plate, and it leaves most Italian restaurants in North Beach in the dust. The cocktails are excellent with a very professional full bar staff. The service is always impeccable. I must confess that I hesitate to post this review, because I still want to find a table here, but if the critics or this neighborhood ever discovers this restaurant, I'll have a hard time getting in! My only complaint... There's always a hole in my plate!

Fabulous food and service. Serious kudos to the staff - just wonderful people and positive attitude. I was constantly impressed with the service. The mushroom ravioli was the best - flavor, filling, all of it. The crab cakes were good, the add on around them very good. Sangria wasn't too sweet or filled with other liquors. Simple and good. They take their wine seriously here too.

I rarely go out of my way to leave negative reviews, but this place deserves a true one star (zero if I had the option). My two friends and I came here the Saturday of Halloween. One would expect it to be busy, but it wasn't. That should've told me everything. My two friends and I sat outside. We were excited to see the menu! We were deciding between latte martini and fig martini, and when we asked our server, he said fig martinis were the way to go. Three fig martinis! Easy order and we were excited. When our drinks came, we all took a sip and unanimously said "it's way too strong." I asked for my drink to be lightened - I literally couldn't take another sip. Our server came out, I told him to see if he could lighten it, and he said no problem. He came back with my drink and bubbly water and said this was the best he could do as the drink was meant to be strong. Listen - I'm all here for a stiff, strong cocktail. This was straight up inedible. I told him I'm so sorry, but I literally can't drink this. He said, "you do understand you purchased this drink and it's meant to be this strong, right?" That was the end of my time here. Drink - disgusting. Service - even worse. Would recommend you to literally go anywhere else.

Employees are great! Deserts are amazing! 3 star cause of their boss being rude and super toxic. He is having attitude problems maybe thats the reason while next door having a lot of customer they don't. Btw come on you guys can be better at math they divide 64.15 in 2 and their result is 33?? Tonight I just had the best cheese burger and fries served here in the city!! They also have a superb fried chicken sandwich. Always worth a visit!

Friends know best when it comes to certain things. There used to be several really good BBQ rib places with Leon's BBQ (Fillmore and Sloat locations) and Firehouse on Clement St. being my favorite take and go spots; don't even get me started about MacArthur Park in Jackson Square. Back to this restaurant, this is how I was able to enjoy my dinner from here in mid-May under shelter in place. A friend heard about this nearby restaurant offering delicious food at reasonable prices, particularly the ribs. I had some concerns about how they'd pack our meals and the parking in this neighborhood but they were both needless worries. I drove up to the saved front door space and lowered by passenger window in giving my name. The staff/owner brought my bag of food out and placed in on the front passenger floor and thanked me as I left. Reminded me of a drive-in back in the day. The portions are either generous or I'm becoming a lightweight from the lack of exercise in sheltering for so long... as I finished half of the ribs (four meaty pieces), half of the smoked BBQ beans, all of the cole slaw, and the supplemented cornbread (+$1.50). The ribs were fall-of-the-bone tender and the sauce on it was a perfect balance of tangy and sweet but not spicy. The beans were on the spicy which was a nice flavor change for me. I would have enjoyed the cole slaw more if it was a little pronounced to either sour or sweet, being neutral. The cornbread was not a traditional cakey texture, more like a thick bar in being dense. I ate the rest of this two or three days later, wrapping in a foil lined and covered pan in the oven. Good stuff. A couple of weeks later, my friend asked me whether I wanted to order again and, well, how I could I say no. Debating between other menu items (like the fried chicken and Bolognese pasta), I did a repeat and tried to order their creamy mushroom soup. About two or three hours before my pickup time, the restaurant told me that they did not make the mushroom soup so I agreed to try their gazpacho (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CW5cbMsP-yBNP12EkNxfnw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). If it was a little warmer on this particular Friday, I'd say it was perfect for a summer evening meal. The flavors were clean and crisp and the croutons gave it a nice change. Well, you can probably guess that, yes, I will be either ordering from or dining here again. For the price and convenience, my friend definitely got this one right!

Solid 4 stars. Our original plan was to go to Taco Tuesday at Nicks...but the line was too long, so we made a detour here. It was about 6pm and there were plenty of tables for 4 so we grabbed on and mulled the menu. In our dumb luck the Tuesday menu includes fried chicken. We were in the mood to split a bunch of stuff, and I think we really ordered the exact best things on the menu and the exact right amount of food. We all had a glass of wine, the pours were fairly large. We started with the Mac and cheese (added pepper) - It came in a caste iron skillet and the red pepper addition was only on top and it was fairly spicy. Then we split: -the plate of fried chicken -the small ravioli (4 pieces) -The corn/goat cheese soufflé (I gotta figure out how to make that) -The Brussels sprouts The chicken was great - but that goat cheese soufflé is what I am still thinking about. I would definitely go back. Splitting a bunch of stuff was a great way to go. We did get the peanut butter ice cream from the dessert menu. It was good, but we didn't need it. The total, including tax and tip was $35/person.

I was really excited to give this place a try based on its convenience and savory menu. Unfortunately they did not honor my restaurants.com gift certificate and I was forced to order anyways. The food is all very tasty and overall the service was fine. Just wish the manager would have done something the reconcile my experience which left a bad taste in my mouth.

Their food is incredible and good portions..if you don't experience their fried calamari po Boi then you are missing out..easily the best sandwich I've had..their Fried Chicken is so damn good too..I could go on and on..their bartenders are hilarious and fast too..small bar but a fantastic hidden gem in Russian Hill

This was an amazing "find". We wandered into the Russian Hill area because we saw there were many restaurants in the area. We tried one place that said they were closed at 6pm on a Sunday (shocking as an east coaster) so we were happy to find Street open. The waitress was incredibly friendly. We' were able to modify an app and entree to meet my kids needs, the truffle ravioli was AMAZING. Wine was great, and I wish we had room/ energy for desserts because they sounded amazing too. I would love to go back and try the Mac and cheese.

Food is solid 4 stars. Started with a roasted beet salad with caramelized pecans and blue cheese crumbles. My daughter ordered the clam and shrimp linguine while I got the truffle ravioli with roasted squash chunks in a cream sauce. Both dishes were delicious - fresh pasta, full and well-balanced flavors. Save room for dessert! The bread pudding with caramel sauce and the raspberry compote with panna cotta are perfection! We plan to come back to try out the steak when we're in the mood for something heavier. Ambience is 5 stars. Outdoor or indoor dining options. Service was warm and friendly - GREAT neighborhood spot.

First time visiting San Francisco and we decided to have our first dinner here when we walked by it. Great decision! I ordered the New York Strip Steak and it was delicious, it also came with some of the best fries I've had. We also got the Ahi Tuna which was also fantastic, and the seafood pasta. Our waitress suggested a bottle of Pinot Noir and it paired very well with it all. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would recommend it!

WoW! Love the food and the staff. Watched the Warriors win the championship and it was a perfect home town vibe. The fresh house made food is gourmet. Thank you chef Lamkin!

tl;dr: good food, okay drinks, closer to the $$$ range than $$ Came here at a 7pm on a Friday night without a reservation but did not have any trouble finding seating (for a party of 3). I ordered a dark and stormy, which was dark in appearance, but not stormy enough in taste. We also got the crisp flash-fried calamari, which contrary to other reviews, was below average calamari- too floury and not enough flavor (the sauce was good though). I also got the grilled Hawaiian ahi, which was very good. 4 stars for this. It's a well-sized portion seared to perfection. The green beans, the mashed yukon potatoes and the aioli complement the ahi very well (although the three of these would have tasted wonderful even without the ahi). Ahi was $23, calamari was $10. I'll probably return, but skip on the drinks and the calamari next time.

My boyfriend and I were searching for the perfect restaurant for my birthday dinner. Well, ANY restaurant, really. I happened to have $25 in Restaurant.com credit, and Street Restaurant caught my eye, so it was settled. Needless to say, I was disappointed. First, the food. We ordered a variety of food, starting with the Brussel sprouts and wontons, both of which were recommended by our waitress. The wontons tasted like something I could have pulled from my freezer, boiled, and dunked in soy sauce. They were slightly undercooked and did not have a special "Street Restaurant zing" to them. The Brussel sprouts were flavorless, which was surprising, considering how much cheese and chili paste were thrown on them. It was the vegetable itself that was not infused with flavor. For my entree, I ordered the black truffle ravioli because it sounds amazing. It was also tasteless. I'm very stubborn about adding any salt or pepper to my food at restaurants, because I feel like it should already have sufficient seasoning... but I desperately needed salt to finish that dish. My boyfriend said I should include some constructive criticism about the food in my Yelp review, but that's really all I can say about it. The ribs that he ordered were saved by the spicy BBQ sauce they were marinated in but they, too, were dissatisfying. For a restaurant that looks super upscale and classy, I was excited to try this new place, and I'm usually very forgiving. But we ordered quite a variety of food, and my experience with all the dishes was the same. I was especially looking forward to the peanut butter ice cream that I heard so much about, but I was not ready to be disappointed about DESSERT. I'm not sure why this place has so many high reviews, but I certainly will not be coming back here or recommending it.

I ate here for the first time last night and it was one of the best meals I've had in years. We ordered the burger and the crab cakes, and the burger was one of the best I've ever had - nicely charred on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. And their outdoor setup was perfect, and our server Alex was amazing. Street has instantly become one of my favorite restaurants in SF - I'll definitely be back!

Still the best in the area. The truffled raviolis are ridiculous. But the masterful New York steak with the best fries in town at $31 is the best value in San Francisco.

An average place in my opinion. We were passing by with a group of 12 this past weekend and we decided to give this place a try since it was the least packed restaurant in the area. I really liked the atmosphere and the mood lighting, however I wasn't really pleased with the service. The lady who greeted us by the door didn't seem like she was in the best of moods. We asked for a large table so that all of us could sit together and were told to wait at the back of the restaurant, which I thought was really weird. It would've probably been better if we were just told to wait outside for a couple minutes. After waiting for some time, we were seated and given menus. There weren't to many choices that caught my attention so I decided to go with a simple burger. I asked to get the Street burger without a bun, in other words, protein style, but for some reason, received just a patty with cheese and veggies on the side. I'm generally used to getting lettuce instead of the bun, but I guess their version is not the same. Anyway.... that was quite disappointing. I also tried some of the big salad with roast NY strip steak and it was very simple. I would expect there to be some more meat and veggies because the salad just felt empty. Overall I feel like things could've been better. From the moment we were told to wait at the back of the restaurant by the kitchen, I was not pleased. Service needs major improvement and so does the food preparation and quality. Not sure if I'd want to recommend this place to many people.

I can't say enough about how great Street is. It's a true neighborhood place, John and Lynn make people feel very comfortable. The food is amazing. John even makes the sausages himself. I had the steak (amazing!!!). One thing that I would suggest that they have some bread available as well. But still this is the best place in my opinion in the neighborhood, or even the Marina. Thank you for hanging in there during Covid!!

Such a gem in the area! Stopped in for appetizers and cocktails before a dinner show, and it was a fantastic experience. Service is amazing, cocktails were creative and delicious. Surprised this place wasn't busier on a Saturday night, but highly recommend a visit! Makes for a very nice date night.

Always excellent food and great service from a small, family-run business. The menu selection is consistent (quite possible the best fries in San Francisco), the cocktails strong, and the wine list is very good. The outdoor patio is a nice addition with live plants maintained by the owner. We are always happy to eat at Street!

Still going strong. Homemade ice cream, great service and now... THE BEST impossible burgers in SF! Freshest food on Polk street, thankfully they've stayed true and innovative. Great wines, no fuss, homemade staples. No wonder this place is packed.

I'm in love! We were walking down Polk street in search of some Italian food. As we stopped at restaurant windows and looked at menus, a man approached us and said, "If you haven't tried this place you have to check it out! The truffle ravioli and the fried chicken are amazing. My friends own it and they also are the chefs." We were sold. We ordered the truffle ravioli, the fried chicken, and a Caesar salad. The ravioli was amazing! The chicken was delicious. I wouldn't order the Caesar again but that's just because it was a boring Caesar compared to their other dishes! The waitress was adorable. She was so kind and attentive. We will be back!

Amazing food very friendly chef. He came by to talk to us. Highly recommend getting the burger with avocado. It was nearly a half an Avocado. Only problem would be restrooms. Everything else is great!

Great neighborhood spot for dinner! I like that they make most things in house and source locally. Musts that we ordered: Mac n cheese and the peanut butter ice cream for dessert! seriously order the peanut butter ice cream! Sooo good! It's the 4th star. Other items we tried: The risotto was good but pretty rich with cheese and we also ordered the pork loin which was tasty. We had the chocolate cake and I could skip that next time. Service was great!

We used to live close by and would go here regularly. We were up in the City last weekend and ate there Saturday night and it reminded us how much we missed this place. They are an awesome neighborhood restaurant that serves consistent high quality fare with flair. Lots of comfort food options like mac and cheese, truffle raviolis, even their Brussels Sprouts are amazing!. Great main dishes and salads. They also have an amazing little bar where they mix up craft cocktails with a very chill vibe. Service was attentive and friendly. Honestly it's one of those places that I used to be slightly hesitant to tell people about when I lived nearby because I loved that I could usually get in and the food and drink are so good. But if you're hanging out in this section of the City you should check it out. We'll be back for sure.

WOW! The big salad with steak is the best salad I've had in awhile! The ravioli, yummy comfort food for sure! The hamburger, ground in house, perfect! I'll be back later this week!

Had a great time with Mike! They showed us the beautiful "Covid lockdown" plant collection, had great recommendations and I can't wait to dine there again. Recommend the truffle ravioli. I could eat the mushrooms on the plate all day the bolognese was absolutely inedible! I loved the locals kinda vibe, reminds me of my small town home. Go there!!

My boyfriend, dog and I are regulars at Street! This is a casual, unassuming hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant. The quality of food is consistently superb! I'm never disappointed. I also love that it's family owned and run. :) Definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Came in at a last minute to grab some dinner. This place is okay nothing special except for their buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. They use fresh not frozen chicken and it is just amazing. Good service a little quick to grab plates away from you even when you are barely done, it's like let me finish wait a minute then please take my plates. Overall it's was a good experience, definitely recommend coming here and trying out the chicken sandwich.

Simply Put, One of the Very Best Restaurants in the City, from my Perspective. And they have the full menu available for takeout and delivery during the Crisis. My current faves on the Menu: Black Truffle Ravioli, Calabrese Sausage with Polenta and the Big Salad with Steak or Ahi Tuna. The Ahi Tuna Entree, with Mashed Potatoes etc., is also superb. The Chef is really a Master Artist at bringing out the Nuances of Flavor with each Dish. Also, great Desserts. I've been leaning heavily into the cheese cake with house made whipped cream. Can't go Wrong, here. Just had the Penne Bolognese. Super!!!

I got the chicken sandwich it was pretty good! The fries were decent, but the service was awesome. We had the sweetest most attentive waitress!

This has always been one of my very favorite restaurants in San Francisco, and that is saying so much! I was in town visiting after moving away 3 years ago, and I was worried it would be gone, or different, or something would have changed. But nope, it was the same Street it has always been! Amazing, delicious, interesting menu. Really well done, really good food. It's an intimate restaurant that's always pretty full but the wait for a table is surprisingly short. The staff is friendly and professional, service is great, and the food has never disappoints. I'm so happy to see this restaurant is still thriving!

Such a great, local spot. The calamari po' boy, tuna steak, steak salad, brussel sprouts, and ribs are all incredible. Not to mention delicious (and strong!) drinks, with my favorite being the mezcal margarita. The staff are all wonderful and friendly. This is one of my favorites on Polk and I always look forward to my next visit.

I think the desserts that you grow up with, can have a huge impact on all of your future dessert decisions and obsessions. As a kid, I was addicted to my grandmother's rice pudding. It was perfect. Baked thick rice swimming in fresh hot cream sauce - with thick amazingly sweet skin of slightly browned cream on the top. When we used to make the trip back to Wales to see our grandparents - it was the first thing I'd ask my grandmother about on the phone. I was obsessed with that stuff. Still haven't found anything quite as good. That rice pudding - stirred on my fascination with comfort desserts like bread pudding (my mom makes a mean one. Mostly cause she doesn't really believe in recipes and like to improvise) So when I read about the bread pudding here - I knew I had to try Street. Street doesn't disappoint on all fronts. The food is well done. The food portions are great. The prices are reasonable, considering the presentation and quality of the food. The ambiance is edgy and sexy, but strangely - still warm and inviting. I wasn't wowed over by my ahi fish dish - but my dining companion's egg noodle pasta dish with the ideal amount of cream sauce - was incredible and undeniably one of the best entree choices on the menu. And looking around us - as plate, after plate of lightly browned fried chicken made their way to all of the tables around us - I suspect the fried chicken may even be the Ace of the place. But to get to my favorite part of any meal and every review - dessert. Three words for you: do bread-pudding here. (let's consider bread pudding one word to make this sentence more more poignant) Street's Def. of Bread Pudding: A beautifully formed and textured cake of soft sweetness - sitting pretty on top of a nutty toffee sauce, and dressed lightly with just whipped cream sauce. Trying to find words to accurately capture it's borderline divine nature - is hard. Check out Street. They don't take reservations, but if you're a small party you should be fine. Try their pasta or fried chicken, and go for the bread pudding. Maybe even come here just for a drink and some bread pudding. Revisit a favorite childhood dessert done right. And then some. Trust.

"I really wanted to like this place..." ...and hey, I really did! hehe. dumb cliche Yelp phrases. This restaurant opened in 2001, and has survived more than 5 years in San Francisco's intensely competitive restaurant market, qualifying it by my assessment, as one of the City's more well-established, long-standing trendy bistros. They serve an upscale, contemporized version of traditional American, French and Italian cuisines. Most of their dishes are prepared from locally-grown produce and staple ingredients. My companion and I most recently tried the risotto with white prawns and the grilled Hawaiian ahi with chipotle-lime aioli, both excellent. I've also had the burger which, as reiterated here by a number of Yelpers, is one of the City's better gourmet burgers. Great ambiance and service, the only flaw in the experience was that the hostess spaced out and gave us somebody else's check before we had even been served our salads, but precious little in this life is perfect....

BEST BURGER EVER. That is all you have to know. You might think it's sad or funny but I know my burgers. I get burgers at any nice restaurant that offers them. This is THE juiciest and tastiest hamburger I have ever tasted. On the menu it doesn't even say burger; it just read sirloin. I ordered mine medium with gruyere cheese. It was a whopping $13, but worth every dollar. The only negative thing I have to say was that I was not a fan of their house ginger ale. *Credit to Phil L for telling me about this place. You were right.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while, specifically for their fried chicken. I didn't know it is only served on Sunday. After failed visit due to menu or crowds, we finally made it in yesterday. It really was fate because right when I said to hubby, we'll eat at Street if we can find a space...guess what? Yup, a space right in front - on a weeknight around 7:30pm? The place was not busy. Few people at the bar and few table for 2s and 4s. The interior is a lot smaller than we expected but it's nice - holds 30 or so total? Quite dark inside w/ dark red walls and lots of abstract looking artwork. Lighting is what we call "ambiance" lighting but to us older folks, reading the menu becomes a squinting challenge. Simple one page menu but it took us a while to debate our options. The drinks menu was 1 page but front/back with wine selection by the glass, draft and bottled beer and a list of cocktails. Hubby wants a cold beer (Anchor Steam - $5) so I opted to try their Sangria ($6). The sangria was served in a pint glass with ice and a paper umbrella - it was on the sweet side but quench the thirst. We shared the spinach salad ($8.75) and that was a good thing because it was a generous portion, I could have had that for an entree on a hot day. It was very good, just the right amount of dressing w/o over drenching. The bacon pieces were a nice treat and compliment to the spinach. The red beets were sweet and refreshing. Loved every bite of the salad. Off to a good start... Hubby had the rack of lamb ($19.75), I think it's really his default if it's on the menu. It was the special of the evening. The plate came with 3 pieces w/ mashed potato and green beans. The chops were cooked as requested - medium rare. The sight of the redish pink sure puts a smile on our faces. It looked so good that I made hubby cut a small piece for me before he got a bite and before I dug into mine. It was good even though it's on the lean side - there was no fat, not even near the bone but it was still very tender. The sauce, however, was way too sweet - it tasted like the sweet chili sauce you get from Asian markets. Did not like the sauce at all. The mashed potato was thick and buttery. I had the pasta w/ crab and homemade spicy sausage ($19.75) - it was also the special. I'm so glad our waitress, Rachell, recommended it since I was debating among that, the crab and shrimp cakes or the risotto. The fettuccine was damn good, al-dente! The texture of the pasta was very good so I had to ask the waitress if it was made there and sure enough it was. The cream sauce was light and flavorful. The spicy sausage had a nice kick to it and it really went well w/ the more subtle flavor of the crab. They must have sprinkled some cheese on top and lightly baked it because the little bit of crispiness was divine! They should add this to their regular menu! Simple dessert menu with 6 choices? The coconut panna cotta sounded interesting but the peanut butter ice cream w/ some kind of meringe and stuff sure sounded tasty. Bread pudding ($5.75) wasn't really considered but our waitress raves about it - people who don't like bread pudding likes it...she'll buy it for us if we didn't like it. How can you say no to that? Well, I didn't like it - I thought it was too dense and dry although the dryness can easily be masked w/ the creamy caramel sauce or the whipped cream, which my hubby loved (the sauce and the cream). It was a wonderful dinner, just didn't end on a high note. Until next time...
