We had a delicious meal here. The views over the harbour from the top floor restaurant are stunning and this definitely has a fine dining feel to it.
The staff here were very attentive and helpful.
We started with complimentary bread and chilli butter which was delicious. The bread was soft and fresh with a crunchy outer crust.
For staters, I had the tempura cauliflower sushi (2,490kr / £14) and my mum had the arctic char (3,990kr / £22). These were good.
For mains, I appreciated that there was an option to try traditional Icelandic potatoes and pickled vegetables, but with tofu rather than meat or fish. This was packed with flavour, including a fresh pesto and pumpkin puree. This was 5,690kr / £32.50 which feels expensive and is by far the priciest main I’ve had on this trip (even by Iceland standards!).
My mum had the salmon which came with similar accompaniments and was a good portion. This was 7,490kr / £42, so similarly pretty expensive.
Overall I’d say that the service, ambiance and food here was really good. However, considering the price, we ate better and more affordable meals elsewhere.
