Another nice lake in Grand Teton, but not as crowded. There's areas throughout the lake that can be reserved. Even if you don't reserve an area, there's a nice trail around the lake with multiple trails that divert from the main one. The lower trail is around the lake, but as you make your way around the lake, it does climb to a higher altitude that loses sight of the lake. It's still nice, but you only see grasslands in those areas.

We did not spend too much time here, but the view is wonderful. We saw people swimming in the lake and a few paddle boarders. I had to see how cold it was, so I walked in a few feet. It felt refreshing! There were clean bathrooms at the parking lot and a few picnic tables. One of the volunteers came over to tell us about bear safety.

Great family picnicking and paddleboarding lake. Unreal views and crystal clear water. Be very bear-aware, lots of them in the area.

Shallow crystal lake, warmer than the others, pristine, breathtaking views of the Tetons, a 3 mile loop, even saw a Moose!! A popular spot for paddlboarders, parking is iffy.

Sting lake ohh you beautiful lake you!! We were told that this was a secret lake for locals. As most people go to Phelps lake or Ginny lake told by one of our waitresses in town and man, she was right. When we walked up on this lake, there was families hanging out like if this was a beach, it stays pretty shallow out for ways, say about 50 yd. Up to maybe your knees crystal clear lake. Good for swimming paddleboarding. Kayaking, families All having a great time. There is a Little Rock out in the middle that you can either a swim to or be take a little boat too. And it's good for jumping off into the water, very nice vibe, very beautiful water, incredible surroundings, water was perfect temperature. Highly recommended a stop while being in grand tetons. This was my favorite lake of them all.

Beautiful lake! Large parking lot, bathrooms on site. Lots of trails around for easy hiking to more extreme. Can hike with small children on a nice trail from String lake to Leigh lake, only about a mile. Bring bug spray in summer months! Small beach areas around lake just follow trails from parking lot and find a spot easily: Kayaking, canoeing or SUPS allowed AFTER you get a pass for them $10 & stop to have them inspected at the water checkpoint (invasive species pass) before entering the park… it’s located across from visitor center & takes less than 10 mins. The rangers just need to know what body of water the craft was used on & if it was used within the last week. You may need to clean it off before entering the park depending on how recently it was used and where. No rental places onsite, but if you have a truck to pull a trailer, there are places in Driggs or Jackson to rent.

AMAZING lake for Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Canoeing, or Swimming if you like cold water 😂. The water here is very clear and a lot of the lake is shallow enough to stand in. The deepest it gets is about 20 feet. There are lots of little rocks in the middle that you can paddle out to and climb on. Our family had a ton of fun spending the day here paddleboarding and hiking around the lake. There are lots of little beachy areas to relax by the water and lots of picnic tables with bear boxes for your food. The lake is at the base of the mountains and is very calm and beautiful. The hardest part is that the parking is usually pretty full. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Paddle boarding in String lake was amazing. The water was crystal clear. It was about 4 feet deep in most places around the lake. Beautiful views of the Tetons. You will want to get there by at least 930 on a weekday and before eight on the weekend. The parking lot fills up fast and there is no parking on the road.
