Absolutely amazing place! The geysers erupt regularly and it’s truly fascinating to watch the power of nature so close. The steam, the sound, and the sudden burst of hot water create an unforgettable experience. The area is well organized with clear paths and good viewing spots, and it’s easy to take great photos. A must-see stop on any trip to Iceland!

Nice hot springs and geyser. It shoots every 5-8 minutes and is short. Worth the wait to get it on camera as I missed it the first time. Great view from the top of the mountain. Free to see. Does cost to park. Also has a nice give shop and snack bar.

The perfect way to see Iceland's geothermal activity - even if you are with lots of other people. Yes, there is a fee for parking as seems is everywhere we went except when they charged admission instead. We should have just downloaded the app as soon as we got to Iceland, but they also have a stand to pay for parking near the door to the shop/cafe. It was also worth it to us to find a real bathroom. We enjoyed walking the trails and seeing the different areas. The primary geyser goes off regualarly - once it went off 3 times in a row while we were there.

You will see activity of active here! This is well worth the stop. Read on to find out why and what to expect. 1. The parking lot will be busy, we came on a rainy day and did not expect how popular the area would be. I recommend driving straight to the back gravel area. Tons of people were getting stuck gridlocking each other trying to get a space up front. 2. Lots of tour bus arrivals here as well. Prepare for crowds. 3. You will see geyser activity! One will blow about every 10 minutes. 4. This has to be said because I heard people talking and asking. Yes the water is extremely hot. No-you should not touch it, it is boiling. It will cause an injury. 5. Make sure to take time to hike up the mountain to get a look down at the geothermal field. It's a bonus and away from the crouds. 6. The visitors center is fantastic. Good mix of food and stores, also nice bathrooms. Ceck out my photos to get a sense of the place.

This is a great place for adults and kids. The geyser erupts about once every 5min. I would suggest coming to this site early because it packs up quick. I got there a little before 9am and it was pretty calm.

Strokkur Geyser erupts every few minutes, which makes for a nice spectacle as visitors gather in anticipation of the next eruption. We were tired after a long day and spent most of our time in front of Strokkur during our visit. Got to witness a (probably rare) double eruption where it erupted twice in quick succession within a few seconds, which caught everyone off guard.

Strokkur is one of the most fun and accessible natural sights in Iceland. It erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, shooting boiling water up to 20-30 meters into the air, so you won’t have to wait long for a show. The whole geothermal area around it feels otherworldly, with steam vents and bubbling hot pools everywhere. Just make sure to stay on the marked paths - the ground can be fragile and extremely hot. It can get busy during peak hours, so going earlier or later in the day means you’ll have a bit more space. Definitely a must-see if you’re on the Golden Circle, and an experience you won’t forget!

It’s water shooting up, which is cool, but it’s pretty busy and they make you pay for parking. They have smaller hot pools but they are too hot to touch. You can hike up the side of a hill if you like but, to me, it’s not as cool as some of the other spots on the golden circle. A really cool gift shop/eating section but it’s a short stop overall.
