On the Grid : Strudlhofstiege

"The Strudlhofstiege is one of Vienna's most important Jugendstil - also known as Art Nouveau - buildings. In the center of the stairs there's a split fountain decorated with ornaments. Take the 58 steps and you get within seconds from Strudlhofgasse to Liechtensteinstraße, deeper in the ninth district. Thanks to a novel by Heimito von Doderer, "Die Strudlhofstiege oder Melzer und die Tiefe der Jahre" written in 1951, the stairs became world-famous. As soon as its dark, the place looks somehow Parisian and unbelievably romantic." - Maximilian Mauracher

The staircases are absolutely beautiful, elegant, winding, and full of charm. It’s the kind of place that feels like it was made for quiet moments and dreamy photos. The soft curves, the green railings, the little fountain, everything just works together perfectly. It’s tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood, so it feels like a secret escape from the busier parts of the city.

Interesting place to visit. Some positive energy can be felt. Story about lower fountain is missing however.

Beautiful stairs. They were located right next to my hotel. It's a nice location, especially at night. If you're around, you can definitely check it out. Otherwise, don't travel huge distances to get there. It's not worth it.

Just stairs, no need to visit on purpose but good to see if being nearby

Wonderful stairs in the middle of the city that inspired Heimito von Doderer to write a classic about it.

Interesting place to see. Though it's only a set of stairs so best to include on the way to or from somewhere.

It's pretty, not much to it though.
