"A cosy and quiet café on William Street, Strumpets is the perfect place to curl up with a slice of delicious cake and a large pot of fresh loose leaf tea. With a small but delicious menu on offer, it’s also a fantastic choice for a light lunch. The café itself is filled with antique details and the warmth of the staff make it a comfortable choice. The chai is particularly perfect and you can’t go wrong with any of the baked goods on offer." - Chris Brodt

Lovely wee cafe in Edinburgh. We were staying in an AirBnB around the corner from this place and disappointingly only discovered it in our last days there. Great atmosphere and food was delicious. Service was great too and very friendly. Highly recommend going here if you are in the area.

Lovely time at this lovely coffee place, great to relax after a tough day at work or for a check-point in vacations. The service was great and the food homemade, just exquisite; specially the sweat cakes with fresh fruits. 100% recommended.

This place is heavenly. The food is so delicious. The coffee is the best I've ever had. Their teas are life giving (can cure the worst hangovers). And to top it all off the staff are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. I'd never hesitate to introduce and recommend Strumpets to anyone out and about in Edinburgh.

I stumbled across this lovely oasis late on my first day in Edinburgh and my oh my what a find! The place itself is clean, stylish, contemporary and cosy. The owners are very friendly and welcoming but unlike many places, not in your face. The drinks and food served is first class although I have to admit I only had a cappuccino and a selection of their beautiful home made cakes. I say a selection because I loved it so much in there I visited again the following two days. As with many of the best places it's the little things which stand out. Such as the small slice of fruit cake and minted water with your coffee. Or the fish tank in the back room. It's not the cheapest coffee shop in town but if you want an experience that is first class then it's worth paying just a few pennies more. It will be the first place I visit on my return to the city. Thoroughly recommend.

Yelp
This coffee shop was a delight. It was conveniently located near the flat I was staying at. The woman who was attending was very kind and attentive. The macchiato was made properly and the beans were of good quality. They do have seating in the back but I didn't check it out. The store front is very well put together. They also have a good selection of baked goods. The lemon blueberry cake was very nice. Definitely a repeatable experience if you like good coffee.

Yelp
I want to sit and smoke a pipe in here while solving great mysteries (which, if you can't deduce, is a complete and utter compliment). Strumpets is the newest addition to an already packed West End roster of coffee shops - so much so, that it sits directly next to another cafe. I'm not sure how that will bode for their future, but it gave me a giggle nonetheless. I've been off the ol' coffee lately, so when we popped our heads in here, I opted for orange juice. Pricy for the bottle, but unlike my recent grumble about cafes charging £3+ for standard tropicana, the fare offered here is on the higher end of the juice scale and seems a little more justified in its crazy price tag. Regardless, I would happily throw down £3 again to sit in their ridiculously adorable back room! With ornate chairs, a pretty little window seat and well picked antiques - it's like stepping into a lady Sherlock's study. I'm a BIG fan. It's TINY - three spaces to sit, all of them no more than two chairs - but on a quiet day, it would be a great place to work from... it positively screams world domination! However, if it's a bit cramped, they do have one slightly larger table out front. The owner is super cheerful and the baked goods look interesting. They do crumpets on Sundays, which is a nice touch and duly noted, as it's an easy stop on the way home for me. I'm nervous for this place, because I'm not sure it has the oomph to keep up with some of the big gun cafes now residing in the West End, but I hope i'm wrong - because this little spot wins on charm alone.

Yelp
This place is super cute! In an area currently getting flooded with coffee shops, I keep making return trips to this one. Not only do they offer the option of Jersey milk with your coffee (and chai, if that's more your thing), all their cakes are homemade. The coffee is from Artisan Roast and the loose leaf teas are by Tchai-Ovna. I love the back room with two comfy armchairs and a little reading nook. there's also a fish tank providing a bit of zen. The window seat in the front is great to people watch and catch the sun. There's enough space to park a pram for those with mummy friends. There's no baby change but I'm assured there's plenty of counter space to use to avoid trying to change a baby on the loo. (Yes, I am getting well versed in baby/pram friendliness thanks to friends who are now mums!) It's at the pricier end of the coffee shop spectrum, but the warm welcome, hospitality and great service make it warrant return visits.

Yelp
Words cannot describe how awesome of a place this is. Super friendly employees, wonderful decor and exceptional coffee. The mochas are incredibly scrumptious with high quality chocolate paired with espresso from Artisan coffee roasters. Tip: be sure to ask for your drinks to be made with Jersey milk for an extra special drinking experience.

Yelp
One of the best cappuccinos I have had in this city. The coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is quaint, and the service was excellent. The owner let us stay 15 min past closing time, and she even recommended a dinner spot and cocktail bars for us. What a true gem in Edinburgh!

Yelp
If you're on the hunt for an alternative to the obquitipus coffee house, then Strumpets is your next move. Run by Ingrida Dornbrook, this peaceful haven tucked away off Shandwick Place, is more than just coffee. Herbal tea, Jersey cream, and a smorgasbord of cakes & scones to tempt even the most discerning pallette. #strumpetscoffee #Edinburgh

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous little café with a delightful menu, gorgeous staff and a side of strumpetty banter. Strumpets if the world, unite!

Yelp
The best coffee in this area, the friendliest staff - best service by far from the three ladies, delightful interior - you can tell the owners are all female :-) try their cakes - they're mouth watering!!! A pity there is no loyalty card but they give a discount if you go with your reusable take away cup!

Yelp
This is a lovely little coffee shop with excellent coffee, tea and amazing cake. Well worth the visit and a great environment to relax. The owner is lovely as well. Very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit.
