Stryn Kaffebar & Vertshus

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The menu is diverse and also meet kid's expectations which is hard. I had the fish soup and it tasted really great. The sneakers pie and pecan pie were delicious. The service was great and inside, it is beautifully decorated. One of my best culinary experiences in Norway. I highly recommend.

We had dinner here twice during our trip, and each time the food was fantastic! We tried the pizza, burgers, and the tagliatelle with mushroom sauce and beef—all of which were delicious. The tagliatelle, in particular, stood out and is highly recommended! The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and professional staff who made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed a lovely dessert to top off the meal. A great dining experience overall!

STAY HERE. EAT HERE! This place was unbelievably amazing. We stayed in a luxury resort in Norway and this place was just and cozy and the food was better. The quarters are tight, but very comfortable and all you need. The restaurant was open 10pm-8am and the room came with a huge, delicious free breakfast. The food was the best we had in all of Norway. The dessert was outstanding. I can’t speak highly enough about this place. The customer service was outstanding. We arrived at 8pm and Jo was extremely accommodating and got us set up the in the perfect rooms. Both Jo and Anders were extremely kind to us in the morning and made everything go smoothly. I wish I could back and stay for the entire vacation!

The owner was personable and very helpful and staff was friendly. Our room was pretty and functional and the food we had (dinner and breakfast) could not have been better. In addition the presentation of the food was superb. We would recommend both staying there as well as eating there, whether it is breakfast, lunch, a coffee stop and/or dinner.

We sat down to eat at this place with friendly staff and a nice vibe, but the food really let it down. It was bland, overpriced, and I didn’t even finish mine. Sadly, not worth the money despite the good service.

Excellent restaurant and coffee bar. Our server was David, and he was very polite and accommodating. Food was excellent and served promptly. We’ve repeatedly come back here during our stay in the Stryn area

Unfortunately had a relatively poor experience here — we were so excited to come due to the glowing reviews. I had to go outside and double check that this was the right restaurant during our experience because it was so different than described. Understandably, it was quite busy when we went and it seemed like they were relatively short-staffed. Even so, we asked for water 3 different times to no avail. eventually we finally flagged down a waiter for the 4th time and she came with a single water instead of water for the table. No worries, maybe a misunderstanding. We ask again for 3 more waters and it took quite a while for it to come. Again, it’s a busy night, so no huge issue here. We wait for a very long time for our order to be taken — and a waiter finally comes around our table to say that we can order on the QR code. Even though we were given physical english menus, there online menu does not actually have a true english version (the dishes are still all in norwegian) and many of the dishes on the physical menu are missing in the online version. We finally manage to place our order after grabbing the attention of another waiter, and the food came relatively quickly. Overall, I will say that the food was fine overall, and maybe we just had an outlier experience. The decor is also cute — so can understand why so many people like it here!

Meals were fantastic. I had the beef and bacon burger and a lava cake at night, and the following morning I got the toast with mango-guacamole & smoked salmon. The burger was really tasty and the chips were crisp and soft on the inside. The lava cake had so much flavour and was perfectly cooked. Breakfast was sensational. The flavours - avocado, mango, tomato salsa, smoked salmon - were incredible together. Whoever came up with that combo is a genius. And the bread it was served on had a perfect crunch, even toward the end of the meal. Finally, my coffee was delicious - The cherry on top!

Fabulous! Great service and quite fast! All of us tried versions of the burger and it was delicious! I've never had a salad on my burger but it was crunchy and worked great with the veggie patty! My other family loved the pizza! And my mom and brother raved about their cafe mochas! Highly recommend! A great place to relax and eat before getting back on our tour bus.

We were coming back from the glacier hike and we were hungry so we drove into town and found this place. It's cute and the staff are very friendly. We ordered pizza and a beer. The pizza is a frozen pizza crust with some toppings. We paid $65 US dollars,which is outrageous even for Norway. Maybe the other items on the menu are better? Just don't get the pizza.

The atmosphere is cozy and the place is nicely decorated. Two in our party had the tagliatelle with beef and they thought it was excellent! Another had the Margherita pizza which he said was good but not great. I had the grilled chicken fillet which came with potatoes and salad and I thought it was good. We shared the carrot cake for dessert which was more like gingerbread than carrot cake. Service definitely could have been better - we barely saw her after we placed our order and the pizza arrived much later than all the other entrees.

Excellent beef salad and cortado coffee. Highly recommended spot to stop for lunch or coffee.

Traveling through the area, looked for vegetarian options. Several selections were available instead of just pizza and veggie burgers. We had a focaccia bread sandwich and added Quorn and jalapeños. Highly recommend

Amazing food, beautiful seating area outdoors. We ordered fish and chips, that came with small side salad. The fish was fresh and relatively large portion. Kids ordered chicken nugget that came with 5 large pieces and fries. Staff were friendly and food came in fast.

We ate here our first night in town. It was after 9 pm and we were pleasantly surprised to find a delicious meal still available. We both had salmon with lemon risotto, and it was served with scallops and shrimp. It was the best food we had in Norway. We returned one morning for coffee and tea and were again not disappointed. My tea was brewed from loose leaves that our barista reported were from a well established tea shop in Oslo. It was delicious. My husband enjoyed a cortado. Both of our drinks came with a piece of mint chocolate. The barista was incredibly friendly. Altogether, this place can meet most of your food and drink needs in Stryn and it shouldn't be missed!

We stopped at this coffee place on our road trip in Norway. Very friendly staff, excellent coffee. We also had a small snack very yummy. Free Wifi ask for password at the counter.

I came here following a recommendation from my Lonely Planet guidebook and after seeing the good reviews on Yelp, but I'm sad to say that this place is overrated. First of all, they barely have any lactose-free options. I ordered the baked chicken filet without the cream sauce. The chicken was hard and rough, and the plum sauce that they put in place of the cream sauce didn't work at all. My boyfriend's beef pasta with mushroom sauce was also meh. The prices are reasonable for Norway though, about 160 NOK for entrees.

The food and coffee here is amazing! What was best of all was The service. If you're ever in Stryn, I would highly recommend coming here

Great place to have lunch. Will definitely come back. The burger and service was amazing.

Had dinner during our stay in Stryn. It was Saturday evening and the place was full. They had mix of dinner menu of local food and "western food" such as pizza and burrito. We ordered cod and trout (local dish) and those were very good. For dessert, they recommended carrot cake as their speciality, which was also very good. Their friendly service made our dinner delightful.

Finding a good place to eat in Norway can give you a strong headache.... But in Stryn Vertshus, I found some great American and European dishes. If you are looking for Svinesteik or other sort of grey meat swimming in brown sauce with boiled frozen veggies around... well this is definitely not the place for you! But if you are looking for a great meal at a descent price (for Norway) than go! Good points: Friendly staff, good size portions, good quality of products. good choice on the menu. Excellent point: Fresh Croissants every day! Friendly owner.
