Stryn Kaffebar & Vertshus

We absolutely love our dinner here. My husband and I both chose different cod dishes and they came out fast, gorgeously prepared and tasted excellent. The desert and coffee also did not disappoint. We will come back 100%. We really can’t understand the negative reviews. Service is friendly and efficient. It is our favorite meal in Norway.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The menu is diverse and also meet kid's expectations which is hard. I had the fish soup and it tasted really great. The sneakers pie and pecan pie were delicious. The service was great and inside, it is beautifully decorated. One of my best culinary experiences in Norway. I highly recommend.

Stopped for a coffee here during our tour of Norway, was very impressed w how friendly the gentleman who took my order was! A rarity ( in my opinion ) in Norway. My guess is that he must have travelled a lot. Great service, great coffee, absolutely great staff, and very clean and modern bathroom.

Amazing food especially the beef burger was phenomenal! The staff members were so friendly and helpful, very cheerful and made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommend to tourist driving pass this gem.

This typical Norwegian seaside town is simply beautiful and the Stryn Kaffebar is a wonderful catering establishment with friendly and helpful South American staff that welcomed us and fed us great food. Nothing extraordinary about the menu, but it is vast and varied and the sea food dishes were just what we wanted. I would return to this place without hesitation whenever I am in town.

We had dinner here twice during our trip, and each time the food was fantastic! We tried the pizza, burgers, and the tagliatelle with mushroom sauce and beef—all of which were delicious. The tagliatelle, in particular, stood out and is highly recommended! The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and professional staff who made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed a lovely dessert to top off the meal. A great dining experience overall!

We went to eat dinner in the restaurant. Even though the place was full, it wasn't loud which was great. the starters were good but rather small, and the main dishes were delicious and satisfying. Great service and very cozy atmosphere!

It’s been a long time since a restaurant made me say “wow” This place is amazing!! I was immediately greeted by a smiling face an EXCELLENT service. I asked them to surprise me with a traditional dish and they did not disappoint. I sat on the terrace which had a fantastic ambiance and view of the street/ plaza below. The food was OMG SO GOOD!! Beef stew with carrots, potatoes, peas, and jam… Blew me away. You HAVE to come here. Because I said so.

Fabulous! Great service and quite fast! All of us tried versions of the burger and it was delicious! I've never had a salad on my burger but it was crunchy and worked great with the veggie patty! My other family loved the pizza! And my mom and brother raved about their cafe mochas! Highly recommend! A great place to relax and eat before getting back on our tour bus.

We were coming back from the glacier hike and we were hungry so we drove into town and found this place. It's cute and the staff are very friendly. We ordered pizza and a beer. The pizza is a frozen pizza crust with some toppings. We paid $65 US dollars,which is outrageous even for Norway. Maybe the other items on the menu are better? Just don't get the pizza.

The atmosphere is cozy and the place is nicely decorated. Two in our party had the tagliatelle with beef and they thought it was excellent! Another had the Margherita pizza which he said was good but not great. I had the grilled chicken fillet which came with potatoes and salad and I thought it was good. We shared the carrot cake for dessert which was more like gingerbread than carrot cake. Service definitely could have been better - we barely saw her after we placed our order and the pizza arrived much later than all the other entrees.

Excellent beef salad and cortado coffee. Highly recommended spot to stop for lunch or coffee.

Traveling through the area, looked for vegetarian options. Several selections were available instead of just pizza and veggie burgers. We had a focaccia bread sandwich and added Quorn and jalapeños. Highly recommend

Amazing food, beautiful seating area outdoors. We ordered fish and chips, that came with small side salad. The fish was fresh and relatively large portion. Kids ordered chicken nugget that came with 5 large pieces and fries. Staff were friendly and food came in fast.

We ate here our first night in town. It was after 9 pm and we were pleasantly surprised to find a delicious meal still available. We both had salmon with lemon risotto, and it was served with scallops and shrimp. It was the best food we had in Norway. We returned one morning for coffee and tea and were again not disappointed. My tea was brewed from loose leaves that our barista reported were from a well established tea shop in Oslo. It was delicious. My husband enjoyed a cortado. Both of our drinks came with a piece of mint chocolate. The barista was incredibly friendly. Altogether, this place can meet most of your food and drink needs in Stryn and it shouldn't be missed!

We stopped at this coffee place on our road trip in Norway. Very friendly staff, excellent coffee. We also had a small snack very yummy. Free Wifi ask for password at the counter.

I came here following a recommendation from my Lonely Planet guidebook and after seeing the good reviews on Yelp, but I'm sad to say that this place is overrated. First of all, they barely have any lactose-free options. I ordered the baked chicken filet without the cream sauce. The chicken was hard and rough, and the plum sauce that they put in place of the cream sauce didn't work at all. My boyfriend's beef pasta with mushroom sauce was also meh. The prices are reasonable for Norway though, about 160 NOK for entrees.

The food and coffee here is amazing! What was best of all was The service. If you're ever in Stryn, I would highly recommend coming here

Great place to have lunch. Will definitely come back. The burger and service was amazing.

Had dinner during our stay in Stryn. It was Saturday evening and the place was full. They had mix of dinner menu of local food and "western food" such as pizza and burrito. We ordered cod and trout (local dish) and those were very good. For dessert, they recommended carrot cake as their speciality, which was also very good. Their friendly service made our dinner delightful.

Finding a good place to eat in Norway can give you a strong headache.... But in Stryn Vertshus, I found some great American and European dishes. If you are looking for Svinesteik or other sort of grey meat swimming in brown sauce with boiled frozen veggies around... well this is definitely not the place for you! But if you are looking for a great meal at a descent price (for Norway) than go! Good points: Friendly staff, good size portions, good quality of products. good choice on the menu. Excellent point: Fresh Croissants every day! Friendly owner.
