This place has a noble mission and is run by a remarkable group of women. Look em up. Great theatre, and they said it's free to Boyle Heights residents. It's an intimate venue so I recommend getting tickets before the night of the show or they do sell out. Also, snaps for the hipster loveseats and other nice touches. I'll be back for sure.
