Such a fantastic kind of community feeling here. It's a gem in Oost, and a nice place to meet people and they have good movies. Prices are good, staff is friendly and the cinema sears and amenities are nice.

*NO POPCORN* They don’t have popcorn, a word of warning because for some movie lovers it is important. But it is a totally comfortable and homely movie theatre with other alternative snacks and drinks that you can bring in from the bar, it is lovely! I have gone 3 times and I love it!

As long as the place is uncrowded I love it. I was a complete unknown at the bar until I started whispering the ballad of a thin man. Because something is happening here and you don’t know what it is, do you, mister K?

Like a home away from home. Groups of people playing board games on a Sunday morning for a matinee. The food is good, all vegetarian. The service is friendly. Its very enjoyable for dinner and movie when it isn’t crowded.

Amazing place with friendly staff. It’s run by students and you can study here, eat, go to the movies, they’ve got tons of games and books. It’s kid friendly but also has a student vibe. There are many places for outside seating as well, and inside they’ve got outlets along a big shared table. Their food is also very good and special, and in the summer you can order carafes of sangria.

If you’re hoping to eat something good chance they don’t have what is on the menu. I started with a cup of soup…after 10 minutes they indicated they’re out of it. Than tried the salad..she indicated that this is possible. After 10 more minutes not available. When asked what was available she now listed some more things….so think carefully before deciding to eat here.

Perfect for our film (Ocean with David Attenborough), food and drinks. Atmosphere is quirky and welcoming.

It's a student-run, EU-supported movie theater. It's nice to watch independent films here. They have a nice cafe, and it's easy to access by bike or tram.

Sunny side up egg sand which with bacon and cheese is delicious. The atmosphere here is cool. It's a coffee shop vibe with plenty of space both inside and outside to eat and or plug up and do some work. The staff is pretty chill too. I'm visiting for two weeks and plan on this being one of my spots while here!

What an amazing concept. Hotel, restaurant, bar, and movie theater?!! I dropped by Studio/K because I had a few hours to burn. Loved the energy. Although I only enjoyed an apple tart (2 on a scale of 5) the food I saw being delivered to other patrons looked mouth watering. Steak fries, respectable burgers. I was impressed. I hung out on a comfy couch and surfed the web (free wi-fi). Mid-evening hangout spot for sure if you're in the area. The student film and meal deal beats all. A definite spot to visit.

So first of all, a really cool experience and at the end of the day, I'd definitely recommend coming here if you are tired of the chaos of downtown Amsterdam. If you are a student especially, the dinner comes with a really good combo deal movie ticket plus dinner. The menu at the food place is very limited but it's good food. My main gripe was with the service though. They were extremely kind, but constantly forgot things that we asked for (side salad, utensils, napkins, check). Was a little frustrating to have to keep asking for stuff. But overall, if you are down for a movie and looking for a simple dinner beforehand, it's a good spot.

ALWAYS OFFERS SEVERAL 100% VEGAN DISHES! My favorite club in Amsterdam! Very hipster, bit alternative and a lot of fun! Come here for bands, techno, rollerskate disco's, knitting evenings or just a drink. Also great for eating! Great breakfast/lunch/dinner and very nice for vegetarians! :)

Studio/K super cool place to grab a bite to eat and hit the cinema. I will be visiting this theater more often. I have been to several of the movie theaters in Amsterdam and I was not too crazy over most of them but this one is just too cool. Studio/K is known for it cinema, a theater hall, bar/restaurant and a terrace which is put to great use in the summer months. I had the pleasure of enjoying their terrace with my man this summer when we were able to luck up on a sunny day. What makes this area so unique? It's going through gentrification. An area to inspire the creative artist meaning (creative class) as Florida Richard would quote it. Gentrification and urban gentrification refer to the changes that result when the rich and middle class people ("gentry") acquire property in low income and working class communities. I wrote my thesis on this subject, so I look forward to following up on the changes in this community. So far it appears gentrification has become a success in this dynamic community.

I always like to go to Studio K when I'm meeting someone or when I need to get things on paper or on my laptop. Somehow the ambiance here is always so relaxing and good folks are attracted by this place. The food and service is not consistent in my opinion, which is a bummer! I would surely visit this place more often if the staff would be more willing to actually provide proper service instead of hanging out with themselves!

Well. Good place to just get in an get a quick bite to eat and go about your bussiness. Nothing fancy, uncomplicated menu with a decent burger with decent fries. Nothing special. I do adore the couch on the left where you get in. If it's available, please take a seat right there. You won't be able to get up for the next two hours.

Went to Studio K for Jazz Fest Amsterdam. I really enjoyed the venue. I can imagine it'd be great for movies but was also nice for live music. The place was pack but the bar still managed to serve drinks quickly. The halls for music are small, so you get up close to the musicians. It is also really easy to get here on the tram, almost directly to the door, so there is no reason not to visit because it is 'far'. Nothing is far in Amsterdam! Great vibe, great tunes, food looks delicious and a friendly and warm atmosphere. Also, I am pretty certain this place is owned and run by students and you can only work there if you are a student, and I like that spirit!

This place has everything! It's a cinema, a cafe, a bar, a club and so on... I've been here several times to watch a movie. If you have a cinneville card you can go in for free ;) this place is also great for studying and has a nice and relaxed vibe during the day! On Friday nights the cafe turns into a bar and a dance-floor - the music varies depending on which DJ is playing:-) be there!!

Studio K is superbo for really laid back dining/drinking/wasting away the day. We hit this spot a few times over the course of two weeks during the world cup sessions. What I dig: it's spacious, great outdoor seating, nice service, kind of an underground, messy feel to it. StudioK really has an Amsterdam feel to it. It's difficult to say what that is, but it's just there. Anyway, I'll be back. This is a nice place to know about when you want to reel in the afternoon, slowly and comfortably.

A very relaxed, low-key place to go for dinner and a movies. The menu is very reasonably priced and the dishes delicious! The burger is good (had it for lunch here once) and their other daily mains are very good as well (I loved the vega option). I was especially enthousiastic about the chocolate fondant (my all-time favourite dessert); which was served to perfection with a grand marinier and rasberry icecream. Make sure to reserve in advance as seating is limited and the place is well known among locals and students.

Kriterion's little cousin all the way over in the Indische Buurt. Not only does this place really give the neighbourhood a kick, they show arthouse films and have a great cafe-restaurant area. The food is good! Also, they have special events (theme nights, lecture type affairs). If there's a football tournament, this is a great place to see a Holland game.

Nice cinema-cafe-restaurant. A huge space that you can relax at.
