Studios Athina Plaka

I can't praise Athina and Athina Studios and Suites enough. After three flights from Canada it was so nice to have arranged pickup for myself and my adult daughter at the airport. On arrival, we were so welcomed by the owner, Athina, and staff. We then met with Theo who offered us drinks and snacks and a map and information about the Island. Our room was beautiful, every detail had been thought of. Drinks and food were delicious. The included breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. The pool and beach were both beautiful and both had plenty of shade. The service at the beach, the bar, and the breakfast area was wonderful. My adult son joined us on our last day and our room was perfect for three adults. This place was so amazing that when we went to our next stay in Naxos town, we left it after three nights (though we had paid for four nights) and returned to Athina for our last night on Naxos Island. Just book it, you won't be disappointed.

When my sister said she wanted to go to Greece, I knew exactly where we had to stay—Athina Suites. I had visited solo in late June while working remotely and loved it so much that I couldn’t wait to return and share it with her in August. It was the easiest decision of our trip. In June, I spent my mornings swimming at beautiful Plaka Beach—just steps across the street from the hotel—then logged in around 4 PM to align with U.S. working hours. It was the perfect balance of productivity and relaxation, capped off with dinner and a sunset each evening. The location truly couldn’t be better. You’re right across from Plaka Beach, within walking distance to tons of great beachfront restaurants. There’s a small grocery store less than five minutes away, and a coach bus stops right out front to take you to the main town of Naxos port or other beaches with ease. It’s an ideal spot for both relaxing and exploring the island. Every night, we made a point to watch the sunset—it’s absolutely stunning and never got old. On a few evenings, we even caught the full moon rising over the sea. It was pure magic. The real heart of Athina Suites is the hospitality. Athina personally welcomed us, took time to go over the island and share thoughtful recommendations, and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. That personal touch stayed with us. Every member of the team—from the front desk to the breakfast crew, restaurant staff, and beach club team—was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Breakfast each morning was freshly baked with love—simple, delicious, and the perfect start to the day. The hotel is also partnered with Yucca Beach (which I’ve reviewed separately), an incredible beach bar and restaurant just across the street. We stayed in a maisonette suite with two floors and a private jacuzzi—modern, spotless, and beautifully designed. Every detail is thoughtful—even the blow dryer comes with a diffuser for curly-haired guests! Athina Suites isn’t just a hotel—it’s a place you remember and return to. Whether solo or with someone you love, it offers peace, beauty, and genuine connection. I can’t wait to be back next year with my husband so he can experience this magical place too.

Lovely hosts with Theodoros being one of the most passionate people there sharing all about the island and recommendations. The restaurant manager was also super lovely and took great care with my pregnancy restrictions. A great surprise was the absolutely amazing breakfast with freshly baked pastries and so much variety. Absolutely loved everything! Rooms are clean, albeit modest, and ground floors are very dark with little soundproofing. If an option, book early and go for the upper floors for the best light and views.

Amazing place to have food and views. We had our breakfast here a couple of times and never had an issue. Everything was perfect from arriving to leaving. The variety of food makes it even better. The coffee is amazing too. Staff and members very friendly and knowledgeable and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth staying and visiting

Athina is a really fantastic place to stay on Plaka Beach. The owner Athina is a great host, you can feel how much the hotel means to her. The real gem is the breakfast full of home made delicacies. She created small paradise surrounded by yucca flowers. I highly recommend to stay there!

Athina Suites is an incredibly beautiful property, the location is great, and the staff help you feel so comfortable. The rooms are beautifully designed, the entire property is lovely, and the breakfast is incredible! We loved our stay!!!

Our stay @ Athina Studios & Suites was the most relaxing time I've ever had traveling with a young family. Athina is the loveliest host, she was especially sweet to our daughter. Right from the start we felt very welcomed. All of the staff made our stay an unforgettable experience. We just left and are already planning our return. The rooms were well maintained and modern, which we love. The restaurant was amazing, the chef put alot of care into each dish. And lastly the beach was great. Half was perfectly sandy which my wife and child loved, while the other half had coral reef which was perfect for some easy shallow snorkeling with many different types of fish. I have already recommended to all my friends and family and like noted above, we will definitely be back.

Being welcomed by the lovely, friendly Athina was the first taste of a wonderful stay. Athina lives here with her husband and they let out three rooms.||The room had a tiny kitchen with 2 hotplates, small fridge and very small bathroom, fine for one person and a lovely little balcony with sea views. ||The best part for me, it's just a stone's throw from a fabulous beach with great tavernas on the sand.||However I did find it a little hard to find and I walked past it dragging my luggage from the port. It's a 10 to 15 walk from the port but there's a lovely little square nearby with a supermarket and restaurants, then you can wander through the narrow cobbled lanes with lovely shops.
