Spent 2 nights here. Our host Barney was amazing. Shared many drinks and memories during our stay and felt right at home. Location is great and we received many recommendations on restaurants and bars. Will 100% be visiting again. Property is also very safe

Safe backpackers in a good spot of town in Stellenbosch. The owners are really lovely and can assist with many things. Have stayed here 3 times over a period of many years, every time has been perfect. Thanks guys.

Does what it says on the tin. Showers and toilets were clean and pleasant. I heard the cleaning service regularly doing their thing during the course of my stay. I appreciate that they had mats in front of the shower - a simple detail but one that is often overlooked. Having ADT in the house made me feel very safe and was super cool ✨🤩😄, I could hear their radios going and banter from their team mates, was so intriguing. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Stayed one night here and was really happy with everything. Showed up early and the hostel held onto our bags, gave us a city map and winery recommendations. Didn't have a problem with transportation using uber/bolt during the day. Then came back and walked around the city center bar hopping before coming back. Felt very safe the whole time and very different feel vs cape town. Hostel has a perfect location, everything was clean. Beds are basic and rooms auto locked and opened with a key.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. Very kind and helpful people. I had a private room and it was perfect. Very clean.

A wonderful quiet hostel located in a prime spot right in the center of it all! The hostels beds are very comfortable with big duvets, each private room has a kettle as well as a coffee and station, and the shared kitchen has everything you need to make a meal, an oven, stove, refrigerator, and lots of pots/pans/utensils. There are indoor and outdoor communal areas for socializing and working. It’s a quiet hostel so a traveling looking for a party might not thrive, but it has top notch amenities and is very comfortable.

The mattresses were so bad we were sleeping on the wooden bed base. The families that are living there with their kids were running up and down the passages all day starting from 05:30 in the morning to 10:30pm on the wooden floors. When we asked them to be considerate, they told us we must find somewhere else to stay if we don't like it. The one family guy suffers from alcohol abuse and the fights between them were just not something you would enjoy..The owners did nothing about them. ||The cooking facilities were also bad, the gas stoves don't work or just barely produce a flame, it turns out that they deliberately stifled the gas.||As for friendly service, the owners Sharon and George interfere with the guests and peoples private conversations. Several other people also complained that their fun was spoiled by the uni-conversations from both of them.||The place advertised on their website looks pretty decent but the reality is far from it, i would not recommend this place to anyone. The owners would rather drink their profits then upgrade the premises. The WIFI also didn't work in the rooms and was very slow, couldn't make a WhatsApp call properly||||I did find a really great place afterwards though, called "DIE LAAER" Backpackers in 3 Simonsberg street Stellenbosch. +27722996754 This place turned out great with really awesome high quality beds, great facilities including Free WIFI, Free Laundry, TV, Cooking Facilities, 24/7 security, off street enclosed parking and more.. for a better rate then Stumble inn.. I woke up in the mornings, i didn't get woken up. And its just up the road from town in a forestry area and surrounded by large blue gum trees..

Very nice hostel, Located centrally in Stellenbosch, surrounded by many restaurants and bars, only a few minutes to walk to the historical center of Stellenbosch. The staff at the hostel was super friendly, explained a lot about the region and things to do when i arrived. The dorm room was nice, there were small lockers for valuables and the bed was super comfy, i slept really really well in there. Would be nice if the dorm rooms had more sockets though to charge stuff overnight. Definitely a very nice hostel & great starting point to discover Stellenbosch.
