Fabulous smiling helpful staff. I went in this morning to grab some sweet rolls to take bake to our terrific unit at Driftwood Village. Dad and I came back mid afternoon and they recognized as I walked in the door and then said, and this must be your Dad you told us about. The sweets were great and the Montreal meet sandwich was so very good!!

Great bakery! Close by the ferry to grab a quick sandwich or treat before launch. Service was lovely. Butter croissants are delish! Enjoyed their cinnamon buns as well, best served warm. You can get them with or without cream cheese icing. They also have coffee and an assortment of drinks. Their multi grain Sourdough bread is fresh, hearty and flavorful. A trip to the bakery is a must-do if you're on Galiano.

The service is always amazing. There isn't a lot of dairy free options all breakfast items have cheese, and most of the pastries if not all have dairy. The energy balls are a good option :)

Great Cinnamon Buns, just visiting from the lower mainland. I would recommend this bakery to anyone that likes real baking 😋 Sincerely Judy Richter 👍💜

I come to Galiano for work and stopping by Sturdies Bay Cafe & Bakery is a must for me. It’s my favourite part of my trip. I used to be a baker and when I get to eat fresh and well made food and pastries, I make a point of returning again and again. The strand are super friendly, the atmosphere and music is lively, and the food is made with love. There are other coffee shops around, but done be fooled, this is where you should be!

Great coffee and the energy balls are amazing. My 2 year old daughter loved the sausage rolls (the pastry is really good). Great service. Will definitely come again.

Best oat latte on the island! Friendly service, treats for my dogs, and a good selection of vegan treats. Will be back again 🙂 thanks!

Sturdies Bay Bakery a charming local bakery that offers a variety of baked goods and hot drinks. It's great to have local businesses like this in communities, as they can provide a welcoming atmosphere and delicious treats for residents and visitors.

Yelp
oh my gosh, you guys, the roast beef sandwich . . . tried it one day and it was so good I came back the next two days to get the same thing! Amazing!

Yelp
We were delighted to find this little spot for delicious baked goods (including gluten free options, sandwiches, etc) and espresso drinks especially when so little else was open midweek. Everyone who worked there (multiple people in multiple days) were lovely as well.

Yelp
Purchases from the store coming in on my text messages however I don't live on Galliano Island? Offered no customer service other than for me to write a letter and send it into them about my worries

Yelp
As a local I've visited this place many many times. I think this is a good place to get breakfast or some bread and baked goods. Im not sure about the coffee because I haven't tried it. Compared with Ox Eye, Babes in The Woods and the Hummingbird Pub, I would say Sturdies Bay Bakery is better. Ive seen some reviews complaining about prices and cafe style service - this is to be expected considering they have to import ingredients from the mainland, the island has a very wealthy population, and Galiano Island has a shortage of labour due to high housing prices.

Yelp
We loved this spot! My friends and I ordered iced lattes with oat milk and a London fog. The drinks were all delicious. The pastries were yummy- (I just wished they had more cookie options- haha) and the service was *SUPER* friendly. We'll be back tomorrow!

Yelp
Delicious Americano's, nice little patio. Shared the cinnamon bun which was huge, but way over iced, it was baked nicely but there was actually 1/4 inch thick fluffly icing over the whole thing, I like a good balance of pastry and icing. Also, a lot of the pastries sit out on the top of the case and there was so many bees and flies swarming around them. Didn't stop me from buying and trying but not my fave! Decent spot, but I'd pass on the cinnamon bun.

Yelp
They have a large selection of baked goods, but the sandwiches and wraps are average and there are no fresh soups, so this place hardly cuts as a lunch venue. Coffee is good and they have free wifi. They are also conveniently located close to the ferry. We had their apple pie, peach and cream turnovers and a cheese and chives scone. Everything was just alright, and nothing to write home about. They are also pricey for what they offer. Apart from the coffee I don't think there is much to go back for.

Yelp
Completely not worthy of the prices they charge. There is another bakery 100 foot away, try there first. Very expensive for below average baked goods. Nice coffee, but the single worst chocolate browny ever conceived by mankind. A hugely expensive mistake.

Yelp
Delicious baked goods and coffee. Delicious custard and fruit danish. Had one on Day 1 and it haunted me until I could have another on Day 4 Pic: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/bRnu7U7SdfQY00SnevVjRg?select=IpqTOeSA5dyhCENT3WwKkw Warm inviting space. Pleasant friendly staff. Free wifi.

Yelp
We went to this bakery every day for five days. Excellent: cinnamon buns (had them cut into four -- generous!), amazing organic multigrain sourdough, vegetarian yum wrap, calzones, butter chicken samosas, muffins, kaiser buns, croissants. Went there on my way off the island and bought six loaves of bread for my freezer. Wish I'd bought more.

Yelp
Great little place, in the little village close to the ferry terminal. She makes her own Nettle Tea from Galiano Island nettles (no stingers in it, I asked). And great REALLY REALLY BIG cinnamon buns. Order one half to eat there and one half to take for lunch. Local hangout, seems to be the place to catch up on island news.

Yelp
Good coffee and good pastries. However, the chicken samosa I had tasted like used gym socks.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on our way back to the ferry (there's a bakery storefront and a restaurant storefront, as far as I can tell -- we ate at the restaurant). The wait staff was very friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised to find lots of gluten free options, including gluten free pizza crust. The restaurant is open later than some of the other meal options in the area, so if you're headed to a late-ish ferry, this is a good spot for a stop.
