MAGICAL-you’ll never want to leave.
I can’t rave enough about this place: it’s so special!
1) Location: Sidemen is spectacular. Why? Because it’s still unspoiled and an escape into peace. It’s so pretty your eyes hurt almost to look at it all — I sat for hours on the bed in front of my room staring into the countryside. When the personnel wanted to lower the blinds as it was raining I asked them to leave them up as I couldn’t get enough of the view.
While walking in Bali generally is interesting given no sidewalks, it is feasible with care. If you don’t feel like it — as the incline is steep — a quick ride to all sorts of activities — cooking classes, market, temples, rice paddies, etc.
2) Grounds: just spectacular—from the views of lush green, mist, farms, to the ponds and lilly pads, trees and flowers, feels like you escape into some sort of paradise you read about as a kid.
3) rooms: just gorgeous from the beds on the terrace to the carved doors to your actual bed which is so comfortable to the bath tub and outdoor shower…. You have everything you could possibly need (including hair conditioner — thank you!).
4) restaurant: food was delicious. Every dinner was tasty.
5) service: Balinese hospitality is incredible. Everyone remembers your name from the get go, they balance sincere chattiness with genuine respect for your space while tirelessly working to care for your every need or whim. DETAILS are that extra special touch that make a place a unique experience. The welcome drink and personalized handwritten warm greeting on a leaf…. Adorable towels folded every day in animal shapes, Balinese flip flops for inside slippers… it’s 5 star mentality. They create an experience not just offer a bed and room. Such respect for genuine hospitality. 🙏
6) spa: I didn’t book any services BUT my breakfast companion recommended saying the massage was incredible and she told me she should know as she’s a … wait for it … massage therapist and thrilled to be the client for a change.
7) ambiance: authentic sense of place. This was my first stop in Bali and I could not ask for better. I felt I stepped inside my childhood dreams of what I imagined Bali to be like - and it was - is.
