MAGICAL-you’ll never want to leave. I can’t rave enough about this place: it’s so special! 1) Location: Sidemen is spectacular. Why? Because it’s still unspoiled and an escape into peace. It’s so pretty your eyes hurt almost to look at it all — I sat for hours on the bed in front of my room staring into the countryside. When the personnel wanted to lower the blinds as it was raining I asked them to leave them up as I couldn’t get enough of the view. While walking in Bali generally is interesting given no sidewalks, it is feasible with care. If you don’t feel like it — as the incline is steep — a quick ride to all sorts of activities — cooking classes, market, temples, rice paddies, etc. 2) Grounds: just spectacular—from the views of lush green, mist, farms, to the ponds and lilly pads, trees and flowers, feels like you escape into some sort of paradise you read about as a kid. 3) rooms: just gorgeous from the beds on the terrace to the carved doors to your actual bed which is so comfortable to the bath tub and outdoor shower…. You have everything you could possibly need (including hair conditioner — thank you!). 4) restaurant: food was delicious. Every dinner was tasty. 5) service: Balinese hospitality is incredible. Everyone remembers your name from the get go, they balance sincere chattiness with genuine respect for your space while tirelessly working to care for your every need or whim. DETAILS are that extra special touch that make a place a unique experience. The welcome drink and personalized handwritten warm greeting on a leaf…. Adorable towels folded every day in animal shapes, Balinese flip flops for inside slippers… it’s 5 star mentality. They create an experience not just offer a bed and room. Such respect for genuine hospitality. 🙏 6) spa: I didn’t book any services BUT my breakfast companion recommended saying the massage was incredible and she told me she should know as she’s a … wait for it … massage therapist and thrilled to be the client for a change. 7) ambiance: authentic sense of place. This was my first stop in Bali and I could not ask for better. I felt I stepped inside my childhood dreams of what I imagined Bali to be like - and it was - is.

This place is so quiet and peaceful, that you just want to lie on the little bed outside your room and breathe it all in. Had the room with a view on Mt Agung. Warm welcome by staff, the foot massage absolutely mind blowing with jasmine oil. Staff very helpful for everything. Enjoyed the pool in the late afternoon. Had breakfast and lunch there, good food. Had an afternoon walk in the village and rice fields with the staff (highly recommended to do). Yoga session too ! It’s the first villa in Sidemen. Though the rooms are nice & cozy, a renovation might be necessary especially in terms of bathroom equipment and furniture.

Had a massage here and it was exceptional - if not the best massage I've had yet in Bali. Pressure was strong and got knots out my shoulders. Definitely recommend.

A truly magical experience. The heart and soul of Bali is present in every aspect of this magnificent place. With stunning views of rice fields and mountains, we felt one with nature in a luxurious settings. The staff were incredibly attentive, always greeting us with warm smiles, offering help whenever needed, and they even remembered our names. The activities gave us an authentic taste of Balinese culture and life. From the children’s foundation with authentic dance performances and offering making to cooking class and the most incredible blessing of Mama Ati sharing their Morning Prayer Ceremony with us. Subak Tabola Villa is more than just a place to stay; it’s a place to connect with the essence of Bali. We can’t wait to return and create more wonderful memories here.

10/10 can’t recommend more highly! Our stay here was nothing short of the magic of Bali. The villas are clean, luxurious, and quiet. The views of the rice terrace and mountains are breathtaking. And the service and hospitality was beyond our expectations. Every request was met with grace and attention to detail. We were provided with opportunities to meet and learn from their children’s foundation as well as Mama Ati’s morning prayer. Everyone in our group was in awe of our stay here, and can’t wait to return.

I came to Subak Tabola as part of a yoga training and it was an absolutely perfect experience. Their tagline is "Welcome Home" and I absolutely felt like I was during my stay.||Tucked away in the jungle, the grounds are truly stunning, with luscious vegetation throughout the property and views in every direction. The rooms themselves (mini-villas really) are gorgeous too with no detail of the traditional Balinese architecture and decor overlooked. They are incredibly spacious and every luxury is attended to.||The amenities available on site are wonderful too - I had two massages while there, both of which were amazing, the food offered at the restaurant is delicious, and the pool is great as well. They also offer access to excursions that allow you to experience the beauty of the Bali countryside.||Mama Ati and her staff are so warm, pleasant, and accommodating and truly felt like family by the end!||A hidden gem - highly recommend!

We stayed 6 days, within a tour of Indonesia and experienced most of the proposed activities, including being guided in the traditional offering cérémonies by Mama Ati who is running the place. She is also a Priest and the Mother & support of many in the Sidemen village community. Wonderful and inspired team! Great food and service, massage and many visits to see Ikat textile production and make our own Silver rings at Edi Silver place.|Can only recommend readers who wish to come, to stay more than 3 days and enjoy what they call themselves the « last place in paradise »|and that should become «  the first place in paradise » and inspire other hôtels of this unique and peacefull Sidemen région!

Absolutely unique accommodation with an incredibly beautiful landscape and location. Staff is very attentive, kind and helpful. The restaurant is also good. My wife also really enjoyed the morning yoga classes and the massage she got there. We are really happy we got to stay here with our family! Despite all this, only 4 stars because some inconvenience during our stay. We had (hot) water, electricity and WiFi outages. We got a free massage as compensation for the water outage, but I would have preferred to pay for it and have water the whole time. :) Also, the pool was a bit murky. Although the breakfast was served from 07:00, we could never order food before about 07:20 and they didn’t have a working baby chair.
