Subira House is a gem in Lamu town.
We got the roof top room which has its own private terrasse overlooking the old fort and ocean.
The owners and staff were incredibly kind, helpful and attentive, catering our whole stay in Lamu to our needs. We had dinner, coffee, breakfast and a huge amount of fish samosas at their place. Dinner is not a la carte, but you can ask the cook in the morning what you want to eat. Everything is fresh and most veggies come from their permaculture farm.
This is an eco certified hotel: dry toilets, no pool, careful use of resources, but you got to stay with people who care for the community in Lamu and the environnement.
Everyday we got to discover places and spend time on the sea, easy boat trips to snorkeling or swimming places were organized for us.
Absolutely loved our stay there. Thank you Christina and Paul!
