Greeted by Santos and received by Bernardo, what start!!! Welcoming smiles and an atmosphere of peaceful ocean breeze. Our apartment was complete with LARGE high ceilings kitchen, room, living room, dining room, 2 balconies, 1.5 bathroom All well decorated and CLEAN. fruits, drinks amenities waiting for us and safty box for our valuables. As we left room toward the beach, large pools and cabanas, great restaurant on beach side with a staff full of smiles & joy to see you. Well designed menu with great food choices. The BEACH with it's soft sands and crystal clear warm gental waves waters will make you want to burn your passports and just call it Home forever. Don't miss some dinner nights with chefs that put on a GRILL show of great meats & seafood by the beach. Excursions are a must and they have a SAFE and very well managed schedules for all. my wife and I will definitely book again next year to do what we miss this time because there's plenty to see and do. Enjoy your time there and see for yourself what a peaceful corner of paradise the Sublime hotel & Residences las terrenas samana is. 🙂

What a disappointment. We have been here many times. The beach is beautiful and we can try hard to ignore the music from the resort next door which is loud during the day. But this is no longer SLH in my view. Primarily because of the food and then because of the service. Staff simply do not understand English and get most things wrong. A few of the seasoned staff can help but few are left. The food used to have local fish, homemade guacamole and great options. Now it’s Americanized and everything has processed yellow cheese on it. Everything! Service in the beach is completely lacking and if you can find a towel or someone to help you before 9am consider yourself lucky. It’s an absolute shame. I give it two stars because of the beach.

Very Nice place! The beach was incredible, we had a room with private pool, it was quite big. The staff was very friendly too. Would definitely come Back!

Wonderful and beautiful resort with amazing staff. The breakfast is amazing. We were here for their Mother’s Day. The grilled buffet included seafood, ribs, fruit and vegetables. Delicious pastries available also. The staff makes sure your stay is everything you could ask for. Restaurant is lacking in taste and options for lunch and dinner.

Very strange that this facility is rated 4+ i give it maybe 1 1.5 star They demand 10,000 pesos on entrance for deposit the hotel and the facilitirs maybe 1000 pesos all whole Pool was very dirty and not inviting all kind of bugs and mosquitos in it. And strong smell of chlorine all over the walk to the beach. They offer you water at the beach and charge you 11$ for a bottle of water and the water isn't liste din any menu. And sea beach restaurant prices are higher than in miami. I've been in other hotels and all of them were better and far exceeded our exprectations but this one avoid it at all costs.

We loved Sublime Samana Hotel. Our two-bedroom Casita was larger than we imagined and had all that we needed for our stay. The outside space is dreamy; the grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The beach is stunning, and the location is fantastic for long walks in either direction. We enjoyed a few delicious meals at the restaurant by the water and loved early evening cocktails and watching the sun set. The people who work there are friendly and helpful without being overly solicitous. We're looking forward to returning, hopefully sooner than later!

Beautiful hotel grounds and well kept, however NO HOT WATER. You might think it's not needed but who wants to shower and shave with cold water? Not me :)

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights. I overall wish I could get a refund. I would definitely explore other options if we ever return to Las Terrenas. We had such high expectations and excitement for this place after seeing the great reviews and stunning photos. Our stay was fine because the rooms were big and clean and the location was lovely, but every other aspect was lacking and there were too many inconveniences we had to deal with. When we checked in, the first thing we noticed was that the entire resort was extremely quiet- not oasis luxury resort quiet, but an almost eerie and unusual quiet. No sort of music was played in the lobby or anywhere else on the resort which made the vibe and energy of the place weird. It was also empty with only a handful of other guests. We were also told that all excursions were cancelled for the entire week, even though there was very minimal rain the days we stayed. This was very disappointing as it was quite boring at the resort. Staff & Service: The receptionists were fine but could’ve been much friendlier, welcoming and overall provide better hospitality for a 5-star resort. Whenever we went to ask questions or needed assistance, they helped but were not the most efficient. There was one night our room would not unlock and we tried explaining to the receptionist (in both English snd Spanish) and she sent us back and forth four times just for us to still be locked out of our room. They then had to get four different people to come and pry our door open with a ladder and rod. For some reason they don’t have a master key to unlock the rooms when the keycard reader stops working. It was a huge inconvenience and after they broke down our door they just left without offering a solution for the next time we needed to open our door. All of it felt very unprofessional. Location: The beach and location was the best part of our stay. The drive to the resort was stunning. The beach was gorgeous and never crowded. It definitely feels like a quaint, tucked away area perfect for unplugging. Rooms: The one-bedroom suite was very spacious, nice and clean, however, infested with mosquitoes. We killed over 15 mosquitos over the course of two days. It was never ending, even with the copious amounts of bug spray. It made it difficult to sleep peacefully at night. Also, our shower drain was completely clogged upon arrival. They did eventually send in mechanics to fix the issue but it took about 30 minutes. The power also went out for a couple hours. Every time we used hot water, there was a really loud clicking noise that would go on until the hot water was done being used. The AC unit was also very loud. Food: Very mid. Nothing special at all and was definitely overpriced. Ordered a small ceviche, side of tostones and yuca fries and it came to $65 USD. Definitely better options outside the resort. Overall, I would not consider this a 5-star resort in comparison to many other ones I’ve stayed at. We ended up leaving early on check-out day and didn’t bother to speak to a manager because we were just tired and ready to leave at that point.
