Consistent espresso like their other location on Queen. Nice atmosphere. Lots of seating including a spacious upper level. Also, outdoor seating on a nice day. This one, I believe, has more sitdown food options whereas I prefer the other one for market items. Clean bathrooms w/o needing a key. Don't bother with the place across the street.

The setting was beautiful and relaxing. The latte was good with the espresso tasting rich in flavour. The smoked salmon croissant surprised my morning taste buds without having that a strong fish odour. The sandwich was made with fresh ingredients. Customer service was nice and friendly. The place offers higher end vibes with average pricing on drinks and sandwiches so definitely a plus

Very pretty inside. Calamari and pizza were extremely bland. Drinks were alright. Servers barely ever acknowledged us. Something to beware of if you've never been - there are no alterations to the menu items!

Went here for my best friend's birthday. The atmosphere was a typical downtown vibe, but very busy even by 11:30 a.m., mainly with people having business meetings, it seemed. Beverage options were very limited for non-alcoholic choices. The food was okay (6/10). Service was very inconsistent; one woman greeted us, said she would help and return, but never did. Then another woman took our order. A man randomly asked if we wanted our bill, followed by a fourth waitress asking the same. Finally, another waitress brought our bill. It was very hard to get anyone's attention. Haven't tried their cafe downstairs, but I think that might be more convenient than dining in for lunch here.

I usually stop by Sud Forno on Yonge after work to catch up with friends, and it never disappoints. Their Americano is rich and smooth, definitely one of my favourites in the city. The space is beautiful, with a warm, modern vibe that makes it easy to relax and unwind. Great coffee, great atmosphere, and always a great time.

This was my first time coming here and I'm really glad I tried Sud Forno out! The atmosphere is amazing and the interior is gorgeous. They also have such cute utensils and cups for the desserts lol. The bathroom was also clean and well maintained. The service was great and all of the staff are so kind and friendly! The food itself was really good and delicious. The pizzas were crispy and flavourful and tasted super fresh. The coffee were good too and the little heart in one of the lattes was adorable and the big, white blob in the other one was funny. The tiramisu was so tasty and I'd definitely get that again! The butterscotch pudding was also really good. The pricing of all the food was pretty normal for a downtown Toronto restaurant and I'd say it's worth the price, but some might think it's too expensive. However, while eating the tiramisu, I discovered a small piece of plastic in the dessert (see photo for reference). I let one of the servers know about it and she was helpful and made sure to tell the manager and get it sorted out. We got the tiramisu taken off the bill which was appreciated and hopefully there's no more plastic in the food from now on lol. All in all, I really enjoyed eating here and I'd definitely come back again to try the other food and dessert options!

Went here for dinner on a Friday night and the menu was quite limited. Their summer menu is far better than the winter menu. The pastas were severely under (more under than al denté) and had a bite to them. The pizza was also quite bland. The bombolinis were great! The restaurant does a great job with their desserts and pastries. The mains are a huge let down for the price!

Just visited this location for the first time and I have to say I had an amazing experience. The location is beautiful and chic with lots of space and good vibes. We came on a weeknight with no reservation and it was not busy at all. The staff were very friendly as well. In terms of food we ordered the Tonnatelli Alla Norcina and Raviolo Di Manzo. The pasta was surprisingly very tasty and al dente. I would definitely recommend the Tonnatelli, it is a bit pricy but so worth it! Will definitely be coming back soon!!

Yelp
Food 3/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food We came here for a team holiday lunch & were seated on the second floor. Everyone ordered different dishes. I ordered appetizers for everyone before they arrived. Appetizers were the Caprese di Bufala, & Frito Misto. The frito misto was quite good & not oily even though it's deep fried. I didn't try the buffalo cheese as I can't eat dairy. When everyone arrived each person ordered a la carte. I ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. I was expecting a pasta with more sauce. What I got had very little sauce. The beef in the bolognese was tasty at least. The tagliatelle was a bit too al dente for me. I like my pasta softer. Maybe that is sacriligious but that's what I like. LOL. It didn't look like a large portion of pasta but it really filled me up. I didn't even want dessert I was so full. Everyone said their dishes were great. Service Our server was a lovely lady. She also had help delivering the dishes as there were 10 of us. Everyone was very professional & I got the impression that they take pride in doing their jobs. The appetizers were served quickly. The main dishes took a bit more time. I think they were trying to time it so that most of the dishes came out at the same time. In any case everything went smoothly in terms of service. Ambiance There were a lot of tables on the second floor & everything was pretty close to each other. It's a pretty space with nice ambiance. But I think they should space their tables out more. Because of winter coats everyone's chairs were bumping into each other. It was also so noisy in the restaurant. We had to yell to have a conversation. It seemed everyone was out for lunch at the same time as us. LOL. Sud Forno is in a pretty busy location in the intersection of King & Yonge street. That's something to take into consideration. This isn't the place for a quiet conversation. I would like to come here when the restaurant isn't so busy & noisy, just to get a better feel for the place.

Yelp
Listen. And listen well. If I lived in Toronto, I would be at this restaurant daily. Food, service, and ambiance equal 5 stars across the board. I was so thoroughly impressed. And might I add, proud of myself for choosing this place for my birthday dinner and being more than satisfied from entrance to exit. I'd give 10 stars, if I could. Service: When you walk in you see the bar area, nice music playing, and the sounds of chatter. I made a reservation and it was honored upon my arrival, with no waiting (if you know how it can be sometimes at some places, this matters to me). There are different areas to be seated and dine, so I was unaware which way we'd be going, especially being that I was dining solo. We landed in a quaint dining area/room and I had a cozy section snuggled to myself. It was comfortable and dimly lit. It was not long before the server appeared and we were off to an unforgettable culinary experience. She was excellent! Food: I look for duck and/or octopus on practically any menu, especially in a new town or restaurant. I ordered the Ravioli D'Anatra (stuffed with duck confit). It was DIVINE!!! My mouth is watering as I type and words escape me to fully describe the pleasure on my palate. The crispy sage was the perfect pairing on top and my first time having it w/a pasta dish. Bread and oil were complimentary and oh so delicious, too! The server brought the dessert menu, I usually decline (as I am normally too stuffed to even consider, but it was my birthday), so I decided to oblige. But, I insisted that it would be to-go. And when I inquired which dessert is best - tiramisu vs panna cotta, not only did she suggest one but she returned to my table with both desserts in a bag, on the house. My birthday is my favorite holiday and a special occasion, so I was deeply moved by such a selfless, kind gesture. And yes, both were desserts were excellent!! I was so excited because it was my first time trying panna cotta, and I am not the biggest fan of tiramisu, but THEIR tiramisu I'd eat everyday. Seriously!!! There are so many other things on the menu I'd like to taste. I am already looking forward to a trip back to Toronto, and Sud Forno is at the top of my list!!!

Yelp
I have always loved Sud Forno for their amazing food got to try their sourdough bread recently as well it's delicious! It's cozy beautiful restaurant with great service and lots of places to sit and hangout with friends and family.

Yelp
This place has a lot to offer; freshly made sandwiches, pasta and pizza, pastries and croissants, coffee. They open up at 8am, so suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can choose from high chairs for a quick bite from their pizza and sandwich bar, or you could sit in the patio or inside and enjoy a full meal. We ordered "Insalata Di Cavolo" salad and "Cavatelli Ai Frutti Di Mare" which was a seafood pasta. They were both fresh and delicious. I do recommend the salad. We sat in the patio and it had a really good vibe and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
Am I in love? Yes definitely with the gnudi with that rich truffle flavor. I went there for dinner date and the food fills your tummy but you can never have enough of this dish. The pizza with the crispy base was delicious as well. I liked the tiramisu but I have had better ones before. Ambience is soft subtle and the staff is cheerful. Definitely a no brainer place for Italian restaurant.

Yelp
I like their mushrooms and grain salad on the take out side. The pastas on their lunch menu is good, I tried the ravioli. It has a good ambience if you like a fun, loud atmosphere.

Yelp
I have been to the lower level of Sud Forno many times for their casual (less expensive) Italian options, and managed to at last upgrade to the second floor! Thank you work! We arrived during a weekday lunchtime to a mostly empty room and were promptly seated. Just like downstairs, the upstairs had beautiful decor and a classy, elegant vibe. We had a great start with a round of appetizers for the table - my particular favourite was the fritto misto, a basket of deep fried shrimp, calamari, zucchini, and carrots. The batter was light and almost tempura like, delicious and not heavy at all. The basket was emptied very quickly! We also made the mistake of ordering the selection of Italian cheeses and quickly noticed to our horror that it included the infamous blue cheese...just a heads up for anyone thinking about this menu item. Unfortunately, the mains were a little more underwhelming. I had the cavatelli al frutti di mare and it was rather uninspired. While the seafood was passable, the pasta was quite bland and the overall dish was very much unremarkable, tasting almost stale. Not a big fan. The meal redeemed itself a little when tea arrived - I do love the little glass containers they're served in. Service was excellent as expected of restaurants in this area. The ambiance was also very pleasant as it was on the quiet side and we were able to have a good conversation. On the whole though, I'm not sure if the second floor is worth a repeat visit - I think I'll stick to the main floor from now on. :)

Yelp
Had the tagliatelle alla bolognese ($24), and it was great! Nice al dente pasta, and the flavour was not too overpowering, but also went well with the bits of meat and parmigiano. Came as a group and there was free bread and olive oil served at the beginning. The portion for the one dish wasn't bad but was not left full afterwards - probably intended to enjoy with other courses. They have some sodas which are affordable. Service was not that great as we ran out of water and it was hard to get the jars refilled until we bunched them up k the side of the table. Also asked for the bill and it seems like it was forgotten or ignored as we had to wait over 20 minutes. The ambiance is great with the candles and darker lighting, so seems great for a romantic night out.

Yelp
Our experience was soured by the lack of service we received. We had came in for a late dinner, and the hostess helpfully informed us that we would only have one hour to eat before closing. That was not a problem for us, as we can be efficient and eat in 30min as long as the food came quickly. We sat down with our menus, discussed what to get, decided on which dishes and waited....and waited....and waited. The table next to us received their food but the waiter didn't seem like they were assigned to our table. Another waiter checked in on another table and explained desserts. We looked around for our waiter as we had been seated for a while at this point and we were not given any water or cutlery. We were conscious that we may feel impatient due to the time limit, so tried to be patient for a bit longer. The table next to us got their check but we couldn't get the waiter attention. Finally, we saw a waiter light a candle for another table that had gone out, and decided we had waited long enough as we were at this point being ignored. My partner had to get up and go speak with the hostess. Even then, we had to watch the waiter being sent our way check on the table behind us before they showed up at our table to explain the menu to us. We were way past that point by this time and ordered right away. Still no water or cutlery. The Insalata Nizzarda was a good choice and the C'T Mang pizza was unique with walnuts and honey. The food was actually good but we don't know what happened with the service during our visit. We would have much preferred to be turned away at the door if it was too late to order, instead of being ignored at the table.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot with a wide variety of pastries and coffee right in the heath or Toronto. The place got a nice interior and a full blown restaurant above the coffee shop. I really liked their salmon croissant and a raspberry pastry, both were fresh and tasted perfectly. Would come back again!

Yelp
I really wish I had read recent reviews before stopping by. Sud Forno has a strong following of busy working professionals who want it all - the vibe, the quality, the fuss, the convenience (you get the idea) and for many years Sud Forno delivered. Fast forward many years later, the food has just not lived up to the hype but still delivers the strong punch when it comes to ambience and vibe. I order the daily special pistachio tuna - sounded delicious on paper. Unfortunately, it did also taste just like that: paper. Incredibly salty paper. The tuna was incredibly dry. I would have eaten it raw instead with any amount of parasitic infestation over the dry texture. My friend got the Tuna salad and also announced that "Woa, is this ever salty" so we both did not take more than 2 bites. She: I'll have the bill please (leaving behind all her uneaten food) Me: Yikes! $30 down the drain. Should I pack it up and fix it when I go home? Imagine that! Me, fixing a restaurant's meal with my glass stove top that, at this stage, has more potential than a industrial kitchen armed with world trained chefs (presumably). I know your next thought is "well why didn't you say anything so they could fix it?" and I did fellow yelpers. I was offered a complimentary dessert or coffee but seeing as though this was meant to be a power lunch and not having another min to spare, I couldn't possibly stay in another 15 mins to enjoy my free dessert. No other solution was offered and I didn't want to haggle further with my friend/co-worker in tow. She gave up that fight very early on and it did not go unnoticed by me that she likely wouldn't appreciate all the back and forth. Sadly, I am now searching for a new place to set as my default power lunch spot when I can't think of anywhere on short notice. Apologies for the typos, I am now just hangry as I write this because lunch was at 12pm. It is sitting in a box waiting for me to fix it but work got in the way. It is now 3pm and I am upset so I decided now was the best time to leave this yelp review as I sit here in my feelings.

Yelp
The desserts were spectacular! We loved the outdoor patio, ambiance, and the service was wonderful. The charcuterie (not pictured) was small and likely just ideal for one person. The pasta was good.

Yelp
First time here was great. Was seated upstairs. Got all the bells and whistles (water, bread, server was knowledgeable about wine menu). So I thought I'd go back. This time I was alone so I was sat at the bar. When asked for a wine selection (was prepared to order a bottle as they cork it for you if you don't finish) bartender said he didn't know much about them and he had only tasted the ones served by the glass. I panicked and ordered one. It was fine but it would've been nice to have a better nitrile and not a run of the mill glass wine. Had to request water. Had to request bread service. Pasta came and it was crunchy. Last time was perfectly al dente. Not sure if it was because I was at the bar or what, but this was not a stellar visit.

Yelp
The coffee in this place is so good, it's dumbfounding. Like, I don't know what they've done. Magic beans? The pastries were also lovely. Service was pleasant and helpful even though we came in 2 minutes before the bakery was closing and they easily could have been salty. But honestly, the americano was the best cup of coffee in Toronto without peer.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate our anniversary night and got the absolute worst service and food. I even mentioned that it's a special celebration night on open table when reserving but got worst service. I'll explain why! It looked like they were decently staffed but our waitress ignored us. Every other table had candles and ours was out, so when we asked her to please get a new one, she said very irritatedly "let me finish service for other tables before I get your candle". It's not like we asked her to bring it right now. We only requested her to do it when she got a chance. Next she brought us their cold bread and rancid olive oil on a cold winter night. In good Italian places, I'm used to warm bread and delightful olive oil. Our first signs of bad choice for a celebratory night were already showing. Same thing for their under seasoned food. Brought those huge salt and pepper crusher for a small table instead of getting in small containers. And then rushing to take them away before we even had the opportunity to put some on our food. Also, the food came out cold which means that it must've been sitting there for a bit with no attention. We sent back the pizza because it was biting into cold cardboard pieces. Pasta too had really sad flavor. The star of the evening was the chilli oil without which we couldn't have consumed the pizza or pasta. Also, another star for replacing our pizza with a warm one. Finally, the dessert part. The menu doesn't state you have to get desserts in pairs. Our waitress explained poorly first and was getting frustrated that we gave her feedback that the menu does a poor job of explaining that. She rolled her eyes and was like "that's why I'm here". We were put off enough that we didn't want to go any further. We told her no thank you to desserts. It's such a dumb concept to order two desserts. We've been to countless Italian restaurants around the world (including Italy) and this is the first time coming across being forced to order two desserts. Way to force people to spend more! What if I came alone to dine? Or if I came with someone who doesn't like desserts? Would you still shove two desserts down my throat. Finally, the waitress slammed the bill on our greasy table (no folder or anything). Pic attached. This is clearly a restaurant that's doing great because of the fantastic ambiance and all the businesses around. So no incentive to improve. For the amount of money we spent, we got the worst service and food.

Yelp
Sud Forno is many things: a bakery, a coffee shop, a dinner spot... Regardless I went there for snack/dinner and it was good, but pricey. The décor is chic and the ambience is good, just try not to get the window seats facing Yonge street. The setting is a bit bleak compared to the décor in the eatery. Focaccia Burrata E Mortadella - The individual components on this dish was great. Focaccia thin crusted, crispy exterior that easily collapsed into the fluffy interior. The Burrata was soft and creamy livening up the warm soft bread. The mortadella added savory notes and protein to the appetizer. Everything came together with pistachios as it offered the nutty crunch that was missing in this dish. A great experience of a dish. Garganelli Geppetto - An interesting pasta dish. Pictures made it look like larger sized macaroni, but it was actually pasta sheets rolled into itself. The cheese gave it creamy savouriness, while the sausage added pork flavours, dandelion greens to cut the grease a bit. Delicious, but would try other pastas. Portions were generous and great to share, especially the appetizers. The prices were a bit steep, maybe from the service and ingredients used in the restaurant. I would say the food was good, but would only be back next time to try their desserts or the lunch combos.

Yelp
Pricey for a small jar cake. Their mushroom pizza was good. I tried mango and tiramisu cakes. Both were good but expensive.ambience is casual and great! They have lot of to go pastas as well.

Yelp
A nice unpretentious Italian bakery, coffee shop, and restaurant that serves great coffee, pizza, and pasta. Fast and friendly service and food that will leave you feeling satisfied. I wish I could pinpoint what it was, but my pasta was missing the oomph to push it over into 5 stars for me. This is a great place for a work lunch or to catch up with friends. So, it is no surprise that you'll see it full of happy diners during the lunch hour throughout the week.

Yelp
I went to purchase two pizza kits which is a lot to carry. The girl cashed me out and I said can I get a bag please and she threw it at me I had to put the kits in myself. Never going back I'll make my own dough. These people need to learn customer service skills. Maybe it was because I didn't leave a tip for her to do absolutely nothing!

Yelp
Can't go wrong with this gorgeous cafe and restaurant. Perfect for a workday snack with a coworker to share a sweet treat + a savoury nom! All their baked goods and breads were amazing. It's a buzzing environment with plenty of staff to help make your visit efficient, especially when it comes to a midday midweek break from the office

Lynne F.

Yelp
I'm so surprised this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating. The food was delicious and our server Andrea was amazing-super helpful and kind. I had the burrata special that was offered the night we were there and my husband had pizza. Both were delicious, but my favourite was the cannoli for dessert. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the restaurant was a bit loud for my liking, though the hostess did kindly seat us upstairs where it was a bit quieter. But that's just a personal preference and I'm sure many people would enjoy the live DJ they had.

Yelp
Had dinner here because it was in walking distance from our hotel. The ambiance, decor and seating were all comfortable and welcoming. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food was served hot and flavorful. The menu is a single page, but has options for everyone; be sure to ask about the daily specials. One of our friends had the Halibut and was very pleased with it. The antipasti we choose had a mix of carrots, zucchini, shrimp and calamari. It was all delicious, and the calamari was actually pretty tender, not as rubbery as I've come to expect at other places. My only complaint was about the actual pastas, served just undercooked for both dishes we ordered. We passed it around the table for everyone to try, just in case it was just our taste, but everyone agreed. However, the flavors, the sauces, the meats and the presentations were all great! We particularly enjoyed the cannoli to finish it off. I'd recommend and try again.

Yelp
The aesthetics and the vibes of this spot were great, love the bench-like tables that make for a great spot to work. We came for the cafe menu, got an order of tea, a decaf latte and one of the jam croissants. The food was great and the coffee was warm and delicious, but the server at the bar/drinks section was not the nicest and most charming, which is something the entire company noticed.
google avatar

Asta S.

Yelp
Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Our waiter was fabulous, and intentionally interacted with us, which was very gracious of him. Enjoyed the charcuterie board, wish it came with a specific fork for serving so we could each use our own forks for eating. The pizza was pillowy and enjoyable. Great drinks selection.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent little Italian bakery. I only had the porchetta sandwich. It was good but not amazing. The meat was really good and I loved the focaccia looking bread but it lacked some sauce or marinated eggplants.
google avatar

Nan V.

Yelp
Enjoyed my time here, didn't realized it's a sister restaurant to Terroni. The patio was big and has cute decors. I loved their beef tartare, the Mayo sauce and the pickled onions made it so good when eaten all together. We got the $70 bottle of wine recommended by our waiteress, Lindsay which was really good. She was very friendly and always check up on us. The prosciutto and pear pizza was amazing together, there's saltiness of the prosciutto and a sweetness of the pear balanced the flavours really well together. The only thing I was kinda disappointed was the pasta. It was lack in flavours and I added chili with oil and that helped abit. The octopus was cooked really well. Not chewy at all. Cute restaurant for a date or birthdays!

Yelp
Most of our dishes were great. Pasta was cooked al dente, very flavourful. The salad dressing was too acidic. Pizza was great.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast lunch and dinner. Good food amazing staff and nice atmosphere. Go if you get a chance.

Yelp
A decent spot to grab a lunch to go or sit down casual. They offer several combos for lunch. Disappointing there wasn't a soup/salad combo, which is a pretty normal lunch offering. Tried a salad and pizza. Pizza was ok, it was warmed up and the bottom was crispy. The salad's leaves were wilting in some areas, but again, not bad. Didn't try any sweet treats but there's a whole case of offerings. Definitely worth a trip if you want a variety, but don't expect authentic Italian.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Just ok. Very limited menu. I had the one pasta dish and all I can say is it tastes very green. Bland/one note. But the bigger issue is the seating. The most uncomfortable stools I have ever had the displeasure of sitting on. Tiny Concave round stools that cut into the back of your legs and No foot support so feet just dangle. Taller folks (over 5'10") may be ok as they could possibly reach the bar. but shorter then that will be in pain almost instantly and throughout the meal. Food is not worth it at all. Service was GREAT

Yelp
As much as I want to focus on all the good, I'm still shaken up from my past experience (September). Stopped by here to have some coffee with my husband. I ordered a latte which was good, my husband ordered an americano with milk but it came black. We waited and waved for several minutes but no one came. We had mentioned we wanted dessert but it took quite a significant amount of time for someone to come to ask our order, to the point more than half of our coffee was done. While we waited for our cannolis to arrive which were amazing, filled with ricotta cheese, large in size; my husband and i shared one each, something happened the unexpected. A small mouse creeped his way under a bench and towards us, I screamed more in a state of shock that there was a rodent present at a restaurant. He ran back in hiding but came right out, at this point my husband went to speak to someone. We were asked to sit elsewhere as a solution. I was too shaken up that a place like this would have a mouse running around. We quickly finished our cannolis and coffee, paid and left. I was disappointed that the staff were making a joke about this. I couldn't stop thinking if there were more and where were they hiding. And to surprise, as we were leaving the mouse was out and freely roaming around, where we originally sat, by the bar area. Honestly the whole experience became so uncomfortable and just awkward.

Yelp
From the proprietor's of Terroni's, this lovely coffee shop (which was inexplicably, but delightfully playing Gotas de Lluvia by Grupo Niche when I walked in) has great coffee & delicious pastries (big fan of their croissants & bombolones) for a quick pick-me-up. Def want to go back to try more of their goodies.

David R.

Yelp
First time here. Nice ambiance, ok latte. Asked the walk up coffee bar to keep my tab open so my client (still to arrive) didn't have to pay for anything. Told me they couldn't unless I sat at the bar itself, even though my table was literally 4 feet away in full view. Enraging.

Yelp
Came here for a work lunch, and I the bakery downstairs + restaurant upstairs was quite nice. I'm surprised it didn't get better ratings. As a table we shared a salad and a few pastas. Service was lovely and the ambiance was great. ENJOY!

Glenn F.

Yelp
The food is good but the way they treat their customers is appalling -- it was so bad that there was a small riot near the coffee bar. (There was a private party upstairs and, when the group started to expand downstairs, they were forcing people to leave when they hadn't got their order yet because the barista was making coffee for those upstairs.)
google avatar

Yelp
Really great ambiance, especially for dates or for group hangouts! Very nice layout, especially on the second floor. Service could've been better - food took over half an hour to arrive. We got there at 8:30pm and we finally got our dishes close to 9:10. Some of us were really hungry! Also the bathroom sinks have the weirdest taps - they have sensors on them but there was also a knob on the side. It was hard for the sensors to pick up where my hands were and there wasn't a lot of water flow. Took me like 5 min to wash my hands... I got the Spaghetti Cozze e N'duja - the spaghetti with mussels. While it was good, I felt like there could've been a bit more sauce for sure. Overall, really nice place to go to if you're in a group. I am willing to come back to try out some of their more generous dishes. Hopefully it won't take 40 minutes for us to get our food next time!

Yelp
Probably my last time visiting a Terroni restaurant. I'm almost always underwhelmed. I don't get the hype at all. We ordered a tagliatelle with ragu & the pizza matta (sausage, roasted red peppers, olives). The tagliatelle pasta itself was well made and al dente but the ragu sauce lacked depth and brightness. It was very oily and the meat itself was chewy and tough instead of tender like I'd expect from a ragu that's cooked down over hours. The pizza crust was okay, but the toppings didn't do it for us. It had way too many olives on it - and the flavour of the olives was overpowering. Service was good and the atmosphere is nice. But I can't overlook that the food is overwhelmingly mediocre.

Yelp
Sud Forno has a nice patio setup! The food was delicious and service was great. The waitress misheard the type of pizza we ordered (both have gorgonzola) but the pear and walnut pizza we received ended up being tasty. Only drawback...food is a little pricey but a nice place to go for a night out.

Yelp
Great service, loved the ambiance, but absolutely terrible food... the food was mediocre/flavorless and the entrees took a long time to come out, over an hour. My spouse and I got the warm olives appetizer to start, fungi ravioli as entree, and a kind of sausage spaghetti. Do not get the olives ever, 5 hours later I got extremely sick and threw up from the olives.

Yelp
This place is so overrated and MID. I've had great pizza at many different places and this just wasn't it. It was sub-par at best. The service was great though. Staff were super nice and had an amazing encounter with them. The ambiance is nice, it is a nice place... gets loud though. I would come back for drinks and dessert maybe. I would not come back for pizza or pasta.

Yelp
This is one of my favourite spots to dine close to Eaton Centre! This is a sister spot to the famous Terroni restaurant. This is a cute spot for whatever occasion you want. If you want to have a coffee or a quick bite for lunch, you can sit downstairs. It is more of a grab and go spot. However, if you want to sit down for a while and have a proper meal, you can head on upstairs. We came here for lunch. The service here was great. We got served free bread and olive oil immediately after being seated. I love free bread!!! We ordered: Cavatelli al ragù di polpo ($23) [braised octopus, tomato sauce, saffron, fennel seed, dill] We loved this dish! The octopus was not chewy at all and the flavours really complimented each other. Prosciutto e Bufala ($21) * would recommend * [tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, arugula] This was absolutely delicious as well. It had a very thin layer of tomato sauce which allows the mozzarella and prosciutto to really shine through. DON'T FORGET TO ASK FOR THEIR CHILI OIL / HOT SAUCE!!!! I absolutely love it and I think it makes all their dishes taste even better!! I love the aesthetics of the restaurant. Don't forget to look down at their beautiful floors!! I also fell in love with the aesthetics of their bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and the mirrors were really cute (great for cute selfies!).

Yelp
This place has great location right downtown. The services are impressive the staff are all well adversed. The food is excellent and you should give this place a try if you have not yet. They have an upstairs which is probably reserved for parties so give it a try.

Yelp
Totally loving this summer's patio season If you know Terroni, you would know they have a few establishments. One of them is of course Sud Forno. Had a ladies lunch the other day with some girlfriends and the food was just fantastic! The appetizers: Calamari e Gamberi alla Griglia - the squid and shrimp were grilled and charred perfectly and all the tomatoes and charred radicchio and balsamic went along so well with the seafood. Tartare Di Manzo - this beef tartare was freaking amazing - it was SO good. We ordered a second order after we finished the first one! The egg yolk generous shavings of black truffle, Mayo and red onion all tied the beef perfectly. Pizza- Piccola Bufalina - crust is perfect - crispy and also airy inside, totally reminiscent of a true Italian pizza Tonnarelli Alla Norcina - pasta was cooked al dente, the spicy sausage was delicious and perfectly seasoned and the black truffle shavings just elevates this pasta! All in all - very lovely meal. Add on a Sud Sour cocktail and cheers to a fabulous lunch

Yelp
Amazing spot in the city. Reminds me of many other italian places that have great coffee, food, sit down space and a bar such as stock in yonge and eglington area or eataly. I think it is a great spot to grab a bite to eat with a friend or colleague if you work around the eaton centre area or in the financial district. It does get busy around lunch so if you are not working that day try to snag a table at 1130AM before the lunch crowd rushes in. I had some of their gourmet pizzas, an americano and canolis and found everything reasonably priced and authentic. Would easily come back again

Yelp
Only a few steps away from the Eaton Centre, this cute Italian establishment doubles as both a fine dining restaurant as well as a boujee takeout eatery with fantastic combos. When you first walk in, you're greeted with a handful of comfy self-seating arrangements much like a cafe. As you proceed further in, there's a square-shaped layout where you walk in from one end, grab a plastic tray, and select different foods from different stations in a unidirectional manner until you reach the cashier to check out. They offer homemade salads (and not your regular raw leafy greens, they have lots of cooked vegetables too!), pizzas, hot foods (like lasagna, salmon, chicken, etc), desserts, and beverages. The prices are extremely fair ($10-15) for the quality and portions of food that you get. I particularly enjoyed that I was able to mix-and-match my combo to really personalize what I wanted for my meal. There's a lot of variety to choose from and everything looks delicious. I had the Brussels sprouts salad with a mushroom and parmesan pizza for $12 and both were excellent. If you're more in the mood for a sit down full service meal, they also have tables upstairs and a reserved seating area to the side for regular restaurant service (however, the sit down menu does look a lot pricier..!). If you're looking to catch up with a friend over a quick bite in a nice atmosphere, I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
That's not $5 coffee service at all. Going back to Neo next time for coffee. F***, you're just asking me to go to Dineen next time When I here, it's for a grab and go coffee / food on the main floor. This USED one of the places I can get a reliable cappuccino that is strong enough and don't screw with me and give me a latte instead. 2:15 is a quiet time. I had 1 person ahead of me and one other who told me to order first since she's waiting for her friend's order on her phone. First coffee made while I was there, took a little longer than expected when they tried to track down the customer dining in. Next, the barista made the order for the person in front of me. Then I see him pull the chits off the machine and just scattered on the bar counter (red flag! red flag!). He's not putting them where he's supposed to, which is above the espresso machine. Scattered like a circle not a line up... so of course he made the 2 coffees that were ordered AFTER MINE not a care in the world. No apologies. The cashier noticed that, quick chat with the barista, I stood there and told them I saw he pulled the chits without any order, she expedite my order by doing it herself. Cashier was fine & efficient, tried to rectify my order. Barista didn't care. It's the least efficient I've seen over the years. Oh and there were 2 coffees just sitting there nobody claiming it either.

Yelp
Came here for a patio lunch with a few friends after lockdown ended, and unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired. Service was fine, though it was hard to get someone to come take our order at the beginning, and no one told us the menu would be via a QR code so we were just sitting around waiting for like 5-10 mins. The actual food was ok, but portions were extremely small, especially for the price. I always order steak tartare when it's on the menu, and here it was $19 and like half the size it usually is at other restaurants I've ordered at, with a very meager amount of toast. The pastas were just... ok. Nothing special in my opinion and again not worth the prices giving the amount. The salad just tasted like a bunch of random ingredients thrown together with a vinegrette to me, it didn't really feel cohesive. All in all would probably not visit this place again.

Yelp
I tried to get a table here for lunch, but it was so busy. The main floor offers serve-yourself dining while the upper floors offers regular dining. Instead of having lunch here, I came back for dessert. Unfortunately the line for desserts is also the same line for cashing out, so while you're ready to pay, you may get stuck behind someone ordering dessert. There were so many things to choose from. I ordered a nutella crostata to go. It definitely had that distinguishable nutella taste to it. The tart/pie part was tasty but a little bit dense. I'll have to come back for lunch and try some of their other desserts.
