Sudamala Resort, Sanur

This resort is such a peaceful oasis with outstanding staff who create a friendly, relaxed and personalized atmosphere. The rooms are generous in size, very comfortable and are surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. The beach is a short walk away and we loved spending time by the pool and on our balcony in the evening. The romantic dinner was a very special experience with the staff creating a beautiful atmosphere in the artspace - many thanks Yudi, Gusti and Prana. Thanks also to Wida and Dayu for accommodating our special requests and in fact all the staff for treating us like family. This was my second stay at Sudamala and I look forward to returning again soon.

We had a fantastic week at Sudamala Sanur. Widu and his team made us feel welcome and relaxed and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, especially breakfast which was a highlight. We have stayed at Sudamala in Komodo and Sanur offers the same chilled vibe and traditional Bali with modern comfort. Excellent value for money and a boutique gem.

I loved it here so much. Now that i have been to some more hotels in bali i can honestly say this remains one of my favourites. There is so much attention to detail in the architecture and design of the hotel and the staff were the friendliest i met and that's saying something! Since all balinese people have been very kind to me. But sudamala staff really go above and beyond. If someone didn't like it at sudamala i imagine they were very unlucky which can always happen, or there are reasons of a different kind that have nothing to do with sudamala. I really can't imagine anything else since this is such a fantastic place. It has a lot of authentic balinese art and really forefronts balinese culture. The restaurant is delicious, complimentary yoga fantastic, pool amazing, rooms extremely clean and astonishingly beautiful. Beach is just a short stroll away, perfectly situated in the nicer part of sanur. The turndown service and bedtime stories were such a beautiful extra it really warmed my heart. I miss sudamala and its team already ❤️ Edit 2024: i returned to this hotel with my partner this year. It is fantastic still. The staff goes above and beyond, literally some of the kindest staff and best service we have had. Stunningly beautiful design, amazing garden and pool. Everything is perfect. Only criticism: a few more sunbeds on the beach would be great. But i'll be back here for sure.

This resort is our place to stay when we visit Bali. It is in the quite end of sanur with cafes restaurants close by. The beach is a 5 minute walk the resort has reserved sunbeds if you prefer the beach, we prefer the pool back at the resort sunbeds are always free. Breakfast is served in Ares restaurant the menu is varied even for the fussy eater we ate several times in the evening, food was presented well and the ingredients of a good quality. The rooms are spacious well air conditioned and the bed was comfy. Toiletries and fresh bottled water replenished daily. The reason we return to sudamala is the friendliness of all the staff who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to your departure. We can't recommend this resort enough and look forward to a return visit.

We stayed twice in Sanur. We found Sudamala Resort when we had dinner the first time (in the Ares Restaurant which is part of the hotel, and which served the best food we had in Sanur). We peaked into the hotel which was so very nice. The second time we stayed here, and we really liked it (much better compared to the resorts at the beach). It is a luxurious place, nice open spaced, lots of art, great large swimming pool with clean water (not always the case in other hotels in Sanur) and not to forget great service. On top of that the rooms were clean, fresh and spacious. When we stayed in the hotel the day of check-out we had a flight in the evening. The hotel told us we could use all facilities (including shower) all day which is great in case you have a flight of many hours. Next time we will be in Sanur we know where to stay. It will be the Sudalama Resort. Thank you staff of Sudalama Resort for all the good service.

Top-notch service and staff who paid attention to the little things and preferences. Some of these things that made it extra great: Free bikes even with child seat, bed time stories, little treats, welcome ritual, pool cleanliness, art exhibition, morning Rindik music (live!), interesting activities. There are wonderful breakfast options - for snacks and other meals I wouldn't recommend the hotel restaurant to be honest but there are good options nearby. Great value, beautiful rooms, better than many beachfront resorts nearby.

A beautifully maintained, quirky, authentic resort. Very close to the beach. Have their own section on the beach. Well defined pool areas, courtyard, dining and quiet places. The spa is well kitted and the spa therapists are experienced. A true value for money. Staff throughout are very polite and helpful.

First time staying at Sudamala however not the first in Sanur. We have always preferred the other end of Sanur, but now total converts. Location is good, short distance to the beach, lots of eating places nearby, good walking options. Hotel is traditional Balinese in design but plenty of modern touches. Huge pool - albeit a tad too warm but I’m sure that isn’t all year round. Staff are lovely, very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely return.
