This is really cool restaurant! It was my first time at Sudøst, but the taste of the food, drinks and dishes were very delicious. The atmosphere was also great 😊 and we were very impressed with Dominique👍🏻 service. He recommended us very good food and drinks. Definitely recommend to come and try. Good food and service! 🤟

Let me first say that this is one of the best vegan meals I've had in Oslo. The place is large but cozy, and the staff are attentive and polite. We had the vegan crispy duck and vegan crispy duck massaman. They were both incredible. Such a strong flavor on the crispy duck, and the combinations are great, especially on the vegan crispy duck dish. They also have a vegan three-course menu which I wanna try next time. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I was celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday, and Ella went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, energetic, and incredibly thoughtful. She brought such a positive vibe that made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. We didn’t expect anything special, but she made it feel like a celebration from start to finish. The food was amazing, but honestly, it was Ella’s service that truly made the night. She’s an absolute gem—someone who clearly loves what she does and brings joy to everyone around her. Thank you, Ella, for making our evening so special. You turned a great dinner into an unforgettable memory. We’ll definitely be coming back—not just for the food, but for the incredible service.

Sudøst Restaurant served us the best food we've had in Oslo. We opted for one of their signature menus, and it did not disappoint—though it was a bit too much for two people, every dish was amazing. The only hiccup was finding intestines in one of the prawns, but the way the staff handled it was exceptional. They quickly replaced the dish and even offered us Prosecco as an apology. Thankfully, we noticed it before eating. Despite this, they still deserve the highest rating for their great service, attentive waiters, and fantastic cocktails. A must-visit dining spot

Creative PanAsian cuisine in a very lively atmosphere. Just keep in mind that you're not coming here for authentic Asian food, but for the restaurant's interpretation. The waitress announced "goma salad" l, so I asked whether it's with sesame. Sadly she had no idea. Likewise, the "kabocha sushi" didn't seem to have any pumpkin/squash, making me wonder whether I misunderstood the name. The good itself was good, except for the vegetarian mussaman curry, which looked like fake-meat roast duck in sauce. When I commented that this isn't what curry looks like, I was lectured that it's fake meat. So, just go with the flow and enjoy without asking too many questions.

The other day I was at a reserve in Sudost, I came to Norway to spend a week on vacation, and what I didn’t expect was to see a waitress (who visibly seemed to be in charge) yelling at a waiter right in the middle of service, outside. It made me feel really uncomfortable and seemed very unprofessional. The food was absolutely delicious and exquisite, but that lady’s attitude toward the waiter left a lot to be desired.

I recently had dinner at Südøst, and it was wonderful. The restaurant's contemporary and rich design produced a lively atmosphere. A delicious blend of flavours from Asian and European cuisines was available on the menu. Each dish was expertly prepared and brimming with delectable flavours. The staff offered helpful advice and was amiable, attentive, and informed. Whatever your taste, Südøst has something to please every pallet, whether you prefer seafood, vegetarian alternatives, or inventive cocktails. I wholeheartedly advise going to Südst for an unforgettable dining experience!

Great place! Must try their spring rolls and Pad Thai! Cocktails are top notch! Staff Members are extremely well trained and courteous!

Great dinner! I had a sangria like cocktail to start. We shared a shrimp appetizer which was crispy and delicious. I had the Baboon salad which was a vermicelli noodle bowl. It came with chicken, beef and shrimp. The sauce was spicy and very tasty. Excellent dinner!

So we came here for dinner and honestly that was just a wonderful experience! The staff here are so adorable, I asked for cola and the girl forgot and when she remembered she ran up to me and gave me a hug and put a coke down on the table. The rest of the night she was attentive (even though the restaurant was busy). Seriously over priced! But worth it! I loved the chicken entree and the jalapeño steak with vege! Yummy! 10/10 all around! Highly recommend!

Well must say that this place gets a lot of credit for the outdoor seating area! I love it when it's sunny and you are next to the river. Plus they have heat lamps if it gets chilly which you can ask for them to put up. We had some sushi and wine there. The sushi was ok. But I thought it was a bit overpriced. I tried also the spicy tartare salmon that was really good! However the restaurant looses points for bad service. The guy who served us barely understood English and apart from that, the girl at the end gave us a comment about not having wine in our glasses anymore. She said: do you want something else because I see your glasses are empty. And she said in a mean-angry tone like give the table or order something. And we had literally just finished and it was not the only comment we got from her. So 3 stars for bad service, otherwise I would give 4.

I have to say the place is a little bit overrated, must probably be the outdoorseating area and the "fancy" looking interior. Inside they have this open-kitchen concept where the guests can see what is going on in the kitchen, it gives you the feels of actually witnessing "Hell's Kitchen" in my opinion it was kind of bothering me, as well as the other I came with, the atmosphere was just too stressing and rushy, not to mention the well dressed guests afterwards got the smell of food lingering on their clothes. The place was of course crowded because we got a table by dinner time, everyone was talking so loud and we couldn't hear what we / the waitress was saying, we had to scream and nod and pretend we heard her explanation of our courses. Moving on to the food. We booked a table for 8 and got seated beside the kitchen (shock) the food was alright, we all ordered set menu which came with 3 courses. To be hones there was nothing major that blew my mind away. Starter was 8 pieces maki with salmon and teriyaki sauce (in my opinion the best of the entire set) maim course was pepper beef served with asparagus and beans (didn't taste any pepper at all) the beef was decent medium rare and tasted like beef. Last but not least (well it was pretty tiny) the dessert consist of "homemade" coconut sorbé and strawberry sauce, the sorbé ice cream tasted like frozen coconut milk/cream and the strawberry sauce was very unnecessary, they didn't go well together. Overall rating: the place looks fancy, but the food was decent, they need to find a resolution for the sound and the open-kitchen thing.

Other guests stole our chairs. We notified the waitress who called on the manager to address this strange situation. His conclusion was that the other group was larger and they drank a lot more so we would have to go instead. Also, the food was cold when served. I guess it had been sitting around for a while. We returned it and got new food that was lukewarm... considered returning also that, but decided to leave instead.

Good food. I ordered a salad which was super tasteful. Good terrace for summer. Good service but it takes a little to get attend for first time. After that fast service.

Crazy duck, indeed its crazy. The perfect amount in one portion, It's their signature dish. Very crispy and packed with flavor. The staff was very friendly. Very fast serving. Classy place. Will recommend.

Food is great if a little pricy. The look and feel of the place is great what let's it down is the shockingly bad service. I'm talking the technical aspect of it. Don't expect to be served and cleared correctly. We had reaching across others to serve neighbors food. This was at a freestanding table and not a booth. Luckily for us it was early so that the armpit you suddenly were faced with was still "fresh". I was shocked as to the level of service for a restaurant at that price point. It was more akin to the service of a diner.

Good food (esp. Korean lamb), kinda-douchey crowd with its restaurant / club vibe, service rarely has its shit together. If you like Olivia in Majorstua at night, you'll like this place.

Sashimi / Maki as a starter with old rice?! The rice was hard an created a noeseaous taste. Non vegetarian Pad thai for main course. The rice noodles was hard, no taste and a simply to much tofu. It was an all over dissapointing visit.

Great lunch spot with nice outdoor seating. Service was friendly and fairly quick. The food was great! I had the mussels in coconut and lemongrass sauce. I am deducting one star because the lunch menu had a very small selection. Other than that, everything was great!

First time at Südost. Super delicious food for a good price. Service is fantastic and the waitress was very helpful, and attentive. The restaurant had a really good vibe. I will definitely go back!

From appetizers to dessert, the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The pad thai was one of the best I've ever had. Service was a little bit slow and one of our orders was incorrect, but overall we were pleased. On the more expensive side but tasty food.
