It’s been such a lovely dinner. Everything was perfect. I was deeply impressed by the sauce in the beef pie—it felt extremely fresh, with a subtle vibe reminiscent of Southeast Asia in its taste. The seafood spaghetti’s tomato sauce was as good as anything I’ve had in Italy, blending sweet and fresh sour notes in perfect balance. The only reason for the four-star rating is my personal preference; I just couldn’t quite fall in love with the squid ink spaghetti paired with tomato sauce—it’s entirely my fault for being so stereotypical. 😌 Rafiq was really helpful with my macchiato… I loved it. The foam was slightly lighter, which contrasted nicely with the thick coffee. I loved it. I’m looking forward to another experience with my family again. Thank you.

I initially had reservations about the food, but to our delight the seafood dishes and steaks were excellent...and Suffolk’s beef pie stood out as particularly good. The pastry was light and flaky, and the beef filling was well-seasoned and perfectly balanced. Overall, it was good value, complemented by the colonial atmosphere and attentive service. The only thing missing was a white cotton napkin.

After being away from Penang for over 40 years, I visited Suffolk House for lunch with hubby and childhood friend. The restoration of Suffolk House is remarkable—stepping inside felt like stepping back in time. We ordered set lunches, and each dish exceeded expectations. My friend’s chicken chop was tender and stayed hot till the end, something she said many places fail to achieve. Hubby liked his fish and chips, and my chicken pie - simple in appearance, wonderfully tasty inside. We were all impressed by their Momotaro sauce, which added a unique touch to the dishes. Great food in a charming heritage setting—Suffolk House has become my top choice for a meaningful lunch spot in Penang.

Excellent place for an afternoon tea. Calm and classic ambience. The portions and food was unique. We particularly enjoyed the pastry, warm and crisp. The sconces were also classic and tasty and we loved the homemade condiments. Rafiq our waiter was pleasant and excellent. This is a must place to visit in Pinang.

RM70 for fish & chips and mushroom soup? Honestly not worth it at all. The fish & chips were the worst I’ve had, its mushy, not fresh, tiny portion and the sides were underwhelming. The brulee was bland too, I could easily make a better version at home. The crew’s service was rather unpleasant. Just a few minutes after I finished my meal, they came over asking to clear the plate/table, which felt like they were rushing me out of the restaurant. On top of that, the restaurant is hot, I mean hot temperature. Parking has no cover and security. Reservation? I don't really think so, it is empty inside. For the high prices, the food quality is closer to roadside/hawker level. In fact, hawkers do it much better at a fraction of the price. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, and the food was delicious with generous portions. A special thanks to Rafiq for the excellent service—he was friendly, attentive, and even offered to take photos for us, which made our evening even more memorable.
