Nature and Parks in Toronto

"Formerly an industrial area along the waterfront of Lake Ontario, Sugar Beach Park is one of Toronto’s urban beaches. Although you can’t swim at this beach, the city has provided lounge chairs and iconic pink umbrellas, making it a great spot to claim a patch of sand for some reading, hangouts with friends, or to watch boats go by.Christie Pits Park — Accessible by subway, this small park is a hub of activity because of its residential location. Christie Pits Park has a free public swimming pool, baseball diamond, children’s park, and, in the wintertime, a skating rink. This park is famous for its summer film program, the Christie Pits Film Festival. On Sunday evenings, locals gather to watch a themed film program." - MATADOR_NETWORK

I absolutely love this space. Love being by the water no matter what the season. Great space for walking or looking out at the water, and more.

We love coming here, whether to watch the airshow on Labour Day weekend, watching doggie athletes at the Waterfront Festival, or visiting the splash pad to cool down, this location never disappoints for the whole family. Living a block away, we don't come as frequently as we should, but the views always make me vow to visit more.

It's not the actual beach, but you will definitely love the place. Such an amazing view, water sounds, and flying birds in the sky. Perfect spot for evening walk. You can sit and enjoy the vibes with loved ones.

Quite beach just beside downtown Toronto Union station. It is free, if you want to have a quite sit out or a quick bite, bring your food or drink and enjoy near lake with wonderful view and ambiance.

Sugar Beach is a park that is walking distance to the city centre but is far enough that you don’t hear much of the traffic noises. There are beach chairs to sit on under iconic pink beach umbrellas. The sand isn’t the best as people do throw out trash and cigarette butts, but it’s nice enough to be able to take your shoes off and feel the warm sand between your toes. It is not too busy on weekdays with most people just lounging around relaxing or trying to get a sun tan. It’s a great place to relax and escape from the busyness of the city.

This place has a very tiny beach with seats and tables that faves a warehouse but also water. When you take the path further it leads you into the trees and a great view to watch boats. The nice thing is that it’s right by the city but the sad thing is that it’s quite small. This is a place you can stop and enjoy for a few moments but not somewhere you wanna stay for hours. There are a lot of students that walk through the area and it is pretty busy. There are benches further down by the water and lots of trees to offer shade. even though this place is small I enjoyed a moment of serenity and nature! The path after the beach is quite photo worthy!

Nov 2024 Artificial urban beach within the historical harbour area of Toronto. Apologies to all loyal Torontonites as this review comes from an Asian perspective. The size is pretty restrictive and is purely seasonal when you have to consider its favorable side. But its location is pretty bad considering that it is right next to a barge area where sugar is shipped in. So I guess for locals it may come as a welcoming attraction but one wonders how sustainable and parctical it is to have this type of area with the options available for a public space.

Nice little spot to sit and watch the world go by..you can watch the flights from the local airport take off..the ferry and tourist boats go past as well..seating around the area and on the sand as well..Nice little spot to take a break and some photos..can be a bit windy at times..but lots of sun as well..
